  • A quick review of my home radio automation software program, PlayoutONE, and also my music scheduling software program, MusicONE. All software programs and associated equipment were purchased with personal funds. This is not a paid advertisement.
The songs that appear in this video are the property of their respective record labels. They appear only as background, for demonstration purposes only, are not complete, and have talking over them, rendering them useless as a recording source.

What do you use for multiple sound cards? Is it an outbound device like a Behringer or do you have multiple soundcards in the PC?

On my audio/video workstation, I use the behringer USB codec, and the PC's soundcard, which is Beats audio. For the radio studio, I use a ROCCAT Juke USB soundcard. You can frequently find them on sale at Best Buy for $15, and it really sounds good. I also use a Soundblaster X-Fi USB soundcard and the PC's on-board soundcard.

Is it possible to schedule prerecorded shows and run automatically?

Yes, with my setup it is. MusicONE schedules a playlist, then sends it to PlayoutONE. Once the playlist is loaded into P1, you can pre-record voice tracks into the playlist, and it will all work seemlessly together.

If by Pre-recorded, you mean a produced program, like American Top-40, then yes, you can play those as well. You would have to build a format clock in MusicONE, for the program. You could manually insert it in PlayoutONE as well.
