I like their "Art" concept in terms of their vision of songwriting and presentation and sharing ownership of the group with their audience and therefore their fans as partakers not just participants in general? Tait and Phillips are taking the high road in my humble opinion showing an expicit desire to appeal to all ages and reaching a new generation in attendance?

I have been a huge Newsboys fan since John James and through all of the evolution of the band. What’s great is God’s word continues to shine through all of the music. It was a different band that emerged with Michael Tait, but your sound has really developed in a great way! Thank you for staying true to the Gospel and staying true to who you are. And the United tour/album is awesome! Giving homage and going forward is such a blessing! Thank you and bless you.

Much like the professional pastorate idolization that’s become a serious problem, where pastors are idolized and followed, even when their teachings are in glaring contradiction with the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles, we are now seeing a very similar problem occurring within Contemporary Christian Music (CCM). I believe this is a clear indicator or reflection of how far we are towards a massive apostasy within the Western nations and ultimately the revealing of the Antichrist.
The Contemporary Christian Music [industry] seems to be increasingly driven by money and a desire for personal fame, where musicians are idolized and promoted as being Christian [leaders], which is simply not true. In fact, few of the artist [clearly] express their genuine faith publically, much less show a clear understanding of the Gospel, Salvation, Atonement, and the exclusivity of Jesus Christ.
Sadly, most of today’s CCM artist apparently not wanting to loss any potential “customers” that might buy their records or attend their concerts, try to keep their personal religious views very vanilla, which is very strange since the supposed goal of CCM artists is to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His worship.
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. - John 17:14 (KJV)
My observations have concluded that most contemporary artists try to walk the ecumenical road of faith, trying to not get labeled with any clear distinction or brand of Christianity, while also trying to not offend any particular denomination or group, which is smart if your goal is to maximize your potential audience appeal and monetary profits. The problem is the message of the Gospel is lost with such a mass marketing model. Popularity and being a Christian are not possible, unless you’re willing to sacrifice the Gospel message.
Some might say at this point that my judgment is too severe, or that I have no right to judge them in the first place. My response to such criticism is to quote Jesus, who commanded us to judge with righteous judgment (John 7:24).
“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” - John 7:24 (NKJV)
So my article is simply doing that, I’m using the standard of God’s Word, the Bible. It’s my goal to try to determine where we are on the prophetic timeline, heeding the Lord’s warning that we are to be alert and ready for the His return.
“Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. - Matt 24:42 (NASB)
I haven’t critiqued the style of music, or the platforms being used, which I certainly have problems with, I’m simply critiquing the overall message or lack thereof.
I’ve witnessed an increasing number of CCM artist openly support the LGBTQ movement, Romanism, ecumenicalism, works salvation, evolution, and many other heretical ideas. We are also increasingly seeing CCM artist promoting themselves as spiritual leaders, advocating ecumenicalism, environmentalism, ethical socialism, race relations, and even political involvement. The music frequently has little to do with the actual praise and worship of Jesus Christ, in fact, it’s sometimes actually antithetical to the clear Gospel message and Biblical authority.
But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’- when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. - Deut 18:20-22 (ESV)
As we can see in the above Biblical passage, God takes His name and Words very serious. I’m not advocating the death of those who speak as God in their music since we’re not under the Mosaic Law, but we are warned to not fear them, which the context implies we are not to even listen to them. Increasingly, I’ve noticed well-known artists are now writing and singing songs in the first person of God, speaking as though they’re God, which is blasphemy! The radio stations that play those songs are equally guilty!
I’m not saying every Christian radio station, CCM musician or pastor is corrupt, far from that, there are some solid Christians in the pulpit and Christian music, but it’s certainly apparent that corruption is widespread within the churches and music industry. We’ve all witnessed far too many artist and pastors coming out as homosexuals or seeing them converting to Catholicism or Islam, even claiming to be atheist.
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. - 2 Tim 4:3-4 (ESV)
Christian radio stations are also embracing the idolization and ecumenicalism heresy. Turn on a typical contemporary Christian radio station, and you’ll see them avoid any conflict with Romanism, Mormonism, Islam, etc. while fomenting a false unity for popularity, viewership, and ultimately financial gain.
I haven’t even mentioned the extravagance of their personal lives, some of the more well-known Christian pastors and artist live very wealthy lifestyles. How much is enough and which God do you serve?
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. - Matt 6:24 (NKJV)
Many modern CCM artist has net worths in the millions, own massive properties, take extravagant vacations, and drive luxury cars while asking those attending their concerts, who often pay $70 - $100 for a ticket, to contribute to support their pet charity, usually a third world orphanage. They often show films of the artist handing out gifts to needy children, while dressed in clothing that looks clearly out of place for the location and situation. It’s nauseating to see the level of manipulation, arrogance, and hypocrisy used in these videos.
A massive spiritual change has occurred throughout the West, which once was the bedrock of Christianity. The changes are dramatic, and I know many others feel what I do, a sense something is terribly wrong within the present system of the Western style or method of the Church, including the music that was designed to be worship and praise, but is now something else.
The fruit of the tree of contemporary Christianity, both with the professional pastorate and the CCM industry, it’s a sure indication that the great apostasy is at the door if not already upon us.
They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others. But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ. The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. - Matt 23:5-12 (ESV)
It’s time for Christians to realize how late the how is and to study there Bibles carefully, being ready to give an answer for their faith, not leaving the study to a supposedly professional paid speakers on Sunday, and not getting their theology from contemporary Christian songs. We are all equal in the Lord’s economy, brothers with One Lord and One Father. We are called to show ourselves approved workmen and ambassadors for the Lord. Be in the Word of God daily and stay strong while walking continually in the Holy Spirit.
    Blessings. †

Why would you put this essay on this video? Are you accusing these two men of all this worldliness and pride and vice? Or are you hoping to warn people in general about how easy it is for Christians to mess up, get something wrong? You just come off sounding judgmental toward everyone.

We can measure love directly with instruments, ie chemical changes in brain chemistry, MRI's ect. Copious amounts of evidence exist for natural causes for the universe ,ie background noise for big bang, ect. No evidence exist for anything supernatural. The lust for certainty is the root of all of the Abrahamic religions and all the cruelty humans perpetrate on other humans, ie Crusades, flying planes into buildings, ect...

    • @ZiwaHD
      @ZiwaHD 6 лет назад

Being able to measure Love or anything actually supports the ideology of the finite nature of human existence . The vicissitude of death (the great equalizer) is certain. Human nature is frail and weak. Modern society is
fragile and uncertain. Life today has no absolutes. Hope is nothing if it is not sure and certain. Cults and extremists fill the void if ministers or religious leaders are uncertain.
It is also certain that There are no learned doubts :just doubts. Doubts
are both damning and unscholarly. Everyone believes in something be it basic gravity. Just like you believe there is no evidence for God.
Jesus Christ's sermons are affirmations of the most necessary truths which could ever be needed by mankind; the love of God to a lost, dying world, the certainty of future judgement, the need for conversion and the absolute necessity for faith in Himself as the only
      mediator between God and man.
