Im not a big fan of Earnest, but I don't own Violet night, YET, I've seen it though, I also don't own Daddy's Home 1 and 2, but I've seen them, I will probably pick up Violent Night and Daddy's Home 1 and 2, I also don't have Its A Wonderful Life AND I've never seen it, surprisingly, all of the other ones I own though, I was surprised the *Maricle On 34th Street* movies weren't on the list, I have both of them, but I've never seen the original, I saw the remake in theaters though; someone else mentioned *Gremlins*, you probably have A lot Of Christmas movies, but the other Christmas movies I have are *Fred Clause*, also *Deck The Halls* ,with Danny Devito, *The Polar Express* , the Frozen collection COULD MAYBE be considered as Christmas movies, but if we're going with the Die Hard logic, I guess you could even throw *The Ultimate Gift* in there, I don't remember if they all have Christmas scenes in them, but i know the first one does, also *Edwards Scissors Hands* as well.
I remember how popular Earnest Saves Christmas was when it came out, especially the line, "airbrakes" (the audience cheered in the theater). Was also lucky enough to see Scrooged, Christmas Vacation, Funny Farm, Gremlins, A Muppets Christmas Carol, Santa Clause The Movie, Elf all at the theater at release.
I totally agree with you on "A Christmas Story." I was never a fan of it, and I think that I only watched it once. I watch "Christmas Vacation" every year and still laugh at it even though I know what's coming! Honestly, I am shocked that you do not have "A Christmas Carol" on your list. In my humble opinion that is the greatest Christmas movie ever made. It has just as powerful life lesson and message as "It's a Wonderful Life." Plus, I believe that over 100 versions of the movie have been made, that has to be saying something. Great list as always Chase.
@@AVAPopCulture I always forget about that one. I have to admit that besides "Mickey's Christmas Carol," that I never saw a version of "A Christmas Carol" until I was in my mid-thirties except for "Scrooged!" LOL. Expand your horizons on that one, there are many better versions of it, much better than Bill Murray's Cr#p.
Best version by far of "A Christmas Carol" is the George C. Scott portrayal in a 1984 made-for-TV movie. Marley's Ghost alone is reason enough to watch. And the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come is downright terrifying.
@danweckerly4204 I agree with you that this version is the best. I've seen a few others, but I do want to check out the older version with Allistair Sims in it. I haven't seen a version of it that I don't enjoy.
@@Thatshorrorible The Sims version is okay. He’s very good. But the early B&W cinematography is a little off-putting. And the acting - appropriate for its time - always strikes me as a little hammy by today’s standards.
I generally agree with your picks, though it’s hard for me to tolerate Will Ferrell. I’ve never cared much for him in any movie, much less Christmas movies. I haven’t seen Elf in years for that reason.
My Christmas movie list 1. Christmas vacations 2. It’s a wonderful life 3. Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus 4. A mom for Christmas 5. The Christmas Star 6. Elf 7. Home Alone 8. Love actually 9. Christmas with the Kranks 10. The Santa Claus 11. Christmas chronicles 12. The muppets Christmas Carol 13. Scrooge the musical 14. Jingle all the way 15. One magic Christmas 16. Die hard 17. Miracle on 34 of street 1994 version
Miracle on 34th Street, It Happened on 5th Avenue, White Christmas, and A Christmas Carol are way better movies than any on your list except for It's A Wonderful Life.
I'd say the same thing here that I used to tell my students when I taught Film studies... "Old and in black and white does not immediately mean Better..." lots of movies on this list are considered "Classics"... White Christmas actually is actually surprisingly light on "Christmas" outside a couple of scenes.... I do love Miracle on 34th Street but that is the same...it has to do with Santa Claus but I think we hardly even see a Christmas tree in the movie...
Agree with you. These would be my all-time favorite Christmas movies including It's a Wonderful Life. I like many of the movies on his list as well. I think we just grew up at a different time. It is fantastic that there are so many good Christmas movies to choose from.
Mine: 1. Home Alone, I love the tall burglar 😊 2. Eyes Wide Shut, I'm watching right now and in the first 8 minutes I've already seen two Christmas trees 🎄🎄 3. The Holiday, great movie 4. All of the Christmas Carol movies 5. Gremlins P.S., Sam Wainwright is the best part of It's a Wonderful Life.
@AVAPopCulture I'm watching Eyes Wide Shut right now and the entire movie is filled with Christmas lights and trees. I love that this is a Christmas movie. Lol. BTW, my favorite part of Home Alone is when the two burglars are sitting in the van at night and timing out when the house lights turn on. I don't know why but I love that little scene.
I once tried to watch the first Daddy's Home. I made it maybe 20 minutes in and instead of laughing I was just pissed off. That is all I remember about it now, because it has been a while. Based of that experience I will never give that series a shot again. As a teenager working at a movie theater in 1994 I remember having The Santa Clause and Stargate at the same time. Both movies were in the same hallway and our two biggest seating capacity theaters of over 600 seats each. They both ended had close start and end times. So we had over 1000 people in line waiting to enter, over a 1000 exiting all in the same hallway at the same time while us cleanup crew of 5 and like 10 minutes to get them cleaned up. That lasted one weekend before Stargate was moved to a smaller about 400 seat theater, but more importantly on the other side of the building.
I have to keep Horror rankings separate...too hard to rank something like Black Christmas or Krampus against It's a Wonderful Life or Elf or something...it is like trying to compare apples to dishwashers to me lol
Man I am so glad I found this channel. I recently, FINALLY, upgraded my TV to an OLED one and was searching for the best 4K's to own from the 80's and 90's and discovered your channel. After watching more content, I'm definitely a sub now. Great list of Christmas movies and yes indeed as you said in the previous video, Die Hard is a Christmas movie damn it! HA HA! Keep 'em coming sir, appreciate it!
Thanks man!! I am always looking for great movies to watch and share with everyone! I am glad you have had enough fun to stick around!! and YES! Die Hard is a Christmas movie!!!!!!! lol
My favorites are: Home Alone 1&2, it’s a wonderful life, a Christmas carol (1984 and 2009), the muppets Christmas carol, Christmas vacation, klaus, elf, Arthur Christmas , the polar express, jingle all the way and Christmas with the kranks
My favourite Christmas films are: Scrooged, Home Alone, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Gremlins, Batman Returns, Christmas Evil, Violent Night and Silent Night, Deadly Night.
Mine are: 1. Christmas vacation 2. Gremlins 3. Scrooged 4. Trading places 5. Elf 6. Bad Santa 7. The Grinch (Jim Carrey version) 8. Lethal weapon 9. Die Hard 10. A Christmas Carol (Jim Carrey version) 11. A Christmas Carol ( George Scott Version) 12. Its a wonderful life 13. L.A confidential 14. Home Alone 1+2 15. Violent Night
My favorites are A Christmas Carol ( 1951), Bad Santa, Silent Night Deadly Night, Trading Places, While She Was Out, The Santa Clausus ,It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street. Love the Live Action version of How the Grich stole Christmas too.
Have you ever seen "Santa Clause " that came out in 1985 with Dudley Moore and John Lithgow. That's not a bad movie at all if you have never seen it. It's worth checking out for a good Christmas movie.
Number one is it's a wonderful Life, number two is Christmas vacation, number three is home alone, number four is A Christmas Carol with George c Scott, number 5 is catch me if you can with Tom Hanks and Leo DiCaprio.
Thanks for sharing - great list! (Mine starts with 1) Black Christmas [to get me over the Halloween hump]. 2) Die Hard, then, after that, anything Christmasie).
Very nice list, Chase... 1. Elf 2. NL Christmas Vaction 3. The Holiday 4. Love Actually 5. Deck the Halls 6. Polar Express 7. Christmas with the Kranks 8. A Christmas Story 9. How the Grinch Stole Christmas 2000 10. Fred Clause 11. The Santa Clause (1-3) 12. Scrooged 13. Miracle on 34th Street (Original) 14. Office Christmas Party 15. Die Hard
Great list! Have just watched Home Alone. Still fun! I need more ginger bread! ”Lussebullar” too! Hehe. You would love those. Swedish tradition. Called ”Lussekatter”. Nothing smells as nice as when baking them. Serve with tea or hot coco. Yum! Look it up! Cheers!
I cycle thru all the Christmas movies throughout the holidays depending what mood I'm in, but the only one that I watch every single year without fail is Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Been my tradition for 40 yrs. White Christmas on Christmas Eve with eggnog & cookies by the fireplace while setting the presents out & filling the stockings. Timeless music, nostalgia, cinematography is beautiful, engaging characters by iconic actors & Christmas everywhere.
I do love White Christmas but it is actually surprisingly light on "Christmas" outside a couple of scenes...that may be why it never made it as high for me
Family man, violent night, Elf, Home Alone 1&2, Die Hard, Christmas with Kranks, Christmas Vacation, It's a Wonderful life, Miracle on 34 Street, A Christmas Story, Polar Express, Charlie Brown Christmas are what we watch. 1965 ‧ Family/Animation ‧ 25 mins
Great list! I really enjoyed your video, thank you for making it! Reminded me of a few films that I kind of forgot about over the years that I’m definitely now going to include in my family’s holiday watch list this year 😃. Also going to check out the few I’ve never seen like Daddy’s home 2, Xmas chronicles & family man. Have a wonderful Christmas & holiday season my friend!!🎄
Thanks! I am glad that you enjoyed the list and hope you have a wonderful Holiday season! Planes, Trains and Automobiles was on a few of my Thanksgiving watch lists!! great movie!
I liked your list, a lot of those would be on my list too. Some movies that would be on my list that weren't on yours would be Just Friends, Surviving Christmas, Batman Returns, The Holdovers, 8-Bit Christmas, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Bad Santa and Gremlins.
those are all great ones! I think most of those made my 25 days of christmas challenge watchlist video! and some will pop up on a couple of my upcoming "best" lists!
To be fair, It's a Wonderful Life has nothing to do with Christmas until the end and you rank it #2, but you ding A Christmas Story for stuff going on that has nothing to do with Christmas 😂 That aside, good list for the season. I'm with you on Jingle All the Way. A lot of people don't like it, but i give it a watch every year.
it starts off in Heaven on Christmas, everything else that we see are mostly flashbacks getting us back to the current Christmas...but the "current story" is set up on Christmas.... I watch Jingle all the way at least once during every season and then it plays in the background at various points usually too
Hey Chase, I love Ernest Saves Christmas and since I watched it so many times, you ever noticed his cab number was 69? This is a family movie and I do wonder who's idea was this as a hidden joke? Anyway, also love Jingle All the Way, one of my Christmas rotations. Just watched The Family Man this morning, great movie! I also watched 1954 White Christmas with Bing Crosby for the first time ever. Why is this such a Christmas classic? He only sings White Christmas in the beginning and the end and nothing else about Christmas.
I 100% agree on White Christmas! I like the movie but I keep taking heat for not having it on my list and I keep saying that it has surprisingly small amounts of actual "Christmas" in it
#1. White Christmas #2. Holliday Inn #3. It's A Wonderful Life #4. (The 1951 version) A Christmas Carol #5. (The Original Version) Miracle On 34th Street After number 5 nothing else matters.
I love White Christmas but honestly, it has surprisingly little to do with Christmas, or, little actual Christmas stuff in it -which is why it never nudged as high for me
I would also for sure include Planes, trains & automobiles on my list, definitely a classically funny, heart warming xmas movie (& who doesn’t love John Candy & Steve Martin?!). Have a wonderful Christmas & holiday season my friend!!🎄
My favourite 15 which does include horrors, are: 15 The Dorm That Dripped Blood 1982 14 Scrooged 1988 13 Trading Places 1982 12 To All A Good Night 1980 11 Black Christmas 1974 10 Silent Night, Deadly Night 1984 9 Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 1987 8 Batman Returns 1992 7 The Long Kiss Goodnight 1996 6 Lethal Weapon 1987 5 Die Hard 2 1990 4 A Christmas Carol 2000 3 Die Hard 1988 2 The Conjuring 2 2016 1 Love Actually 2003
The Conjuring? I dont recall anything Christmas in that one lol... but I am working on separate lists for Horror and Alternative Christmas movies! to hard to rank something like Silent Night Deadly Night against It's a Wonderful Life or Elf lol
the whole thing takes place on Christmas because it is Christmas - it is then told in a "flash-sideways" of another version of his life at Christmas time building up to Christmas and circling back to the current Christmas
@AVAPopCulture didn't mean to say that family Man wasn't a Christmas movie but the same logic to a Christmas story is the building up of ralphie trying to convince is parents to get him the Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas
i am so sorry, but, you are wrong here, on more than one occasion, maybe it's just how the other side of the pond, and the world see this compared to the U.S. but try these, i did a top 10 rather than 15 (to allow some of your own to fill the remaining 5 :P lol 1: muppet christmas carol 2: national lampoons christmas vacation 3: love actually 4: trading places 5: joyeux noel 6: die hard 7: the appartment 8: Home alone 9: planes, trains and automobiles (technically thanksgiving, if you're american, the rest of the world, it's christmas) 10: gremlins
@@AVAPopCulture i noticed, but still, they deserve to be on the "all time" list just as much, i mean joeux noel? possibly the greatest real life christmas story of all time? great lists btw, but greatest is greatest ;) lol
I completely agree that Die Hard is a Christmas movie, but my wife heard me watching your video about it being a Christmas movie, and she completely disagrees. In her eyes, she just can NOT accept it as a Christmas movie. Lol. She didn't even finish listening to you, so she put on her head phone's and shook her head NO!.
LOL everyone can have an opinion! I stand by the Director and the Writer saying it was a Christmas movie and Home Alone is basically a kid version of Die Hard... I think some people can only think of movies like The Santa Clause etc that are 100% "Christmas Forward" as being Christmas movies!
@@AVAPopCulture I know you did, couldn't resist. Hey I've never seen the Christmas Chronicles? (need to double check that title) with Kurt, gotta check that one out. Great job on this list!
@@AVAPopCulture yeah I searched it up, I don't have Netflix but it's on my list to watch. btw, tomorrow is the 9th, should be a release date of a certain movie we've been waiting patiently for forever! Will be checking email hourly!
1. Christmas Vacation 2. Elf 3. A Christmas Story 4. Its a wonderful life 5. Miracle on 34th Street 6. Home Alone 7. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles 8. The Santa Clause 9. How the Grinch Stole Christmas 10. Scrooge
1. Die Hard 2. The Nightmare Before Christmas 3. It's A Wonderful Life 4. Lethal Weapon 5. A Christmas Story 6. Arthur Christmas 7. Go 8. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 9. Gremlins 10. Elf 11. Happiest Season 12. While You Were Sleeping 13. The Ref 14. Home Alone 15. Violent Night
Ok, I can understand excluding the Charlie Brown Christmas and the Rankin Base specials. Although personally it's not really Christmas until I see the Miser Brothers. And don't get me wrong, I agree with Die Hard being a Christmas movie, but so is Gremlins and you left that out too. I loved Scrooged, Bill Murray is always brilliant. But you did not even mention Alastair Sim's masterful portrayal of Ebeneezer Scrooge. In my humble opinion, it's the definitive version of A Christmas Carol, and my favorite Christmas movie. Nothing but love for Christmas Vacation, it's the best film in the franchise, but the number one? No
I consider Gremlins to be Christmas Horror, so look for it on my upcoming 10 Best Christmas Horror Movies list! Christmas Vacation is #1 for me for all the reasons I mentioned and it is pretty ubiquitous in pop culture and the public zeitgeist too - and has been form going on 40 years now!
It is funny because I grew up more with Scrooged than The Muppets... Daddy's Home 2 is so different from part 1...you dont even need to have seen part 1 to follow and enjoy part 2
@@AVAPopCulture Everyone has their own "vibes" but it starts with the Macy's CHRISTMAS parade and the main character is SANTA CLAUS. Hard for me see it as anything but a Christmas movie. But it's your list ...
@@AVAPopCulture Not trying to be difficult... you are correct it officially called the Thanksgiving's day parade BUT it's purpose of the parade is to kick off the Christmas buying season with the climax being Santa at the end. We open with the parade and get introduced to Kris Kringle. The rest of the movie focuses on his true identity and whether you believe in him. IMHO not much of a Thanksgiving movie.
I don't like "A Christmas Story". I know, I know I'm a monster. I would add "The Three Godfathers". Outlaws sacrifice to rescue an orphaned infant, Mildred Natwick, Harry Carey Jr., Pedro Armendarez,Ward Bond,Ben Johnson, John Wayne
I didnt say it did...how about my 20+years of making films? How about teaching film? How about my other "silly degrees"? No, because I didnt mention ANY of those things, Im just having fun letting people know how I personally feel about these films and have a discussion about it for FUN! You know, FUN...that thing that it is okay to have?
My favorite movie wasn't even in the top 15 for you but it's called the Christmas shoes my mom my sister and me watch it every year it Nexus cry every year
@AVAPopCulture for me it's just a family tradition cuz my stepdad passed a few years ago and we used to watch it with him and it just became a family tradition to now every year we watch it
Scrooge with Albert Finney, The Year Without a Santa Claus, White Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas narrated by Boris Karloff, Gremlins, Polar Express, The Snowman, Trading Places and Lethal Weapon are all better than Elf or Violent Night. Just thinking maybe the list should have stretched to 25?
I was trying to keep this one to live action feature films only so some of those are left off because of that reason and I am doing separate lists for "non traditional" Christmas movies too, so there will be other chances!
@AVAPopCulture Maybe a top favorites part 2? It's impossible to list the top 10 perfect Christmas movies because different movies mean different things to different people. I hate Elf but like Jingle ALL the way. So yes, this is YOUR personal favorites and I concede that you announced that so, I look forward to more content! Merry Christmas!
I own the Christmas story on dvd and all 5 home alone movies in a dvd boxset I don’t own jungle all the way but I do own national lampoons Christmas vaction I own the other national lampoon vaction DVDs in a boxset
There’s two that deserve a place, one old school, the other got kicked out of school….. Miracle on 34th Street- with everything coming from Amazon, perhaps younger people can’t understand, but c’mon…not in your top 15? Bad Santa - the unrated version, of course. No, you can’t watch it with your young kids, but it’s a great story and who doesn’t like Billy Bob doing his worst??.
Miracle on 34th Street was on my November watchlist for the day after Thanksgiving and on my December monthly watchlist... I associate it with the change over from Thanksgiving to Christmas because besides Santa, it has way more to do with Thanksgiving time of year...apparently only 1 Christmas tree is seen in the whole movie according to some trivia (I havent fact checked that)... Bad Santa is on my top "non traditional" christmas movies list... thanks for putting me in the "younger people" group! I havent been carded in 25 years so I will take that hahaha
Yep, this is your list. A lot of yours would not have even made my list. Christmas Carol over s ScroogeD. I like most versions. Just none that modernize it. White Christmas, Mracle on 34th Street, So many classic movies you dont have on here. And that's ok. You seem to lean towards slap stick comedies, and that's ok. Im older and love the classics. They still hold up
I think a lot of these on my list would fill out a lot of people's lists... Christmas Vacation, The Santa Clause, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, and even Die Hard are actually considered "Classics"... older and black and white doesnt immediately equal "Classic" or "Better" in my opinion...I used to stress that to my students when I taught film studies....BUT everyone likes what they like and that is great!
Polar Express has never been a big hit in our house for whatever reason...my kids never liked it that much and I was never a big fan of the animation in that one.... Jack Frost is a good one!
Don't like your list! You can't have The Christmas Story, coming in at # 15, way to low! You don't even list, Miracle on 34th, which, I think is truly a all time classic!
Bad Santa #1 for me ever since the first time I saw it. Caught it 4 times at the theater when it was first released and it is my must watch movie every year
@AVAPopCulture as a kid in was always way more into Jingle All the Way and the Grinch but now I can't watch the Grinch with Jim Carry because of the Actress who played Cindy grew up to be the singer of the Pretty Reckless and I had a major crush on her so any time I see it I just see her as what she looks like as an adult in her music videos and it's weird so til I can disensiate the 2 it's something that's hard for me to watch
@@stickywicked447 lol yea it's wild to think at 10 she was starring in a movie with Jim Carry and all the other legendary actors to Opening up for AC/DC for the last year and her music is good but the videos mostly are not for kids
it is not my favorite...I acknowledge it is a classic to the masses and it is a day after christmas watch for me while cleaning up the house lol...it is playing in the background
Temu is using a quote from the Home Alone movie in their Christmas products this year, Merry Christmas you Filthy Animal. Hilarious. I never realised how male centric Christmas movies are. Someone needs to make a Christmas movie about Mrs Claus. Even saying Mrs is a bit old fashioned. The mothers of the elves? A woman who chooses family and regrets it and wishes she was a business woman like her best friend… yes a little Chloe in Smallville in the wish episode.Love your list, but very male centred. I realise that’s not your fault. Just to put a woman in the lead and have the Christmas movie about her, Bridget Jones Diary. I also would have it in my top 15 anyway.
@ nah, this one is about Santa, the child is not the star or main character. If you go to IMDb Richard Attenborough name tops the bill. Prancer is a Sam Elliott film, he tops the bill and is the main character with the most lines. Nice try though and I think you have proved my point with, it’s hard to find them.
@@benbelzer8303 Never heard of A Mom for Christmas, is that the Olivia Newton John film? This is a film where the woman arrives as a gift or Christmas wish for the father? Nah, not having that one as an example of a Christmas film about a woman.
Violent Night. Easily one of my top movies over the last several years, christmas or not. I do feel too many people havent given it a proper chance because they think its a horror movie from the poster.

This guy is way off, the old ones were the best ones
“If that cat had nine lives, he just spent em all……whew!” 😂😂😂 my favorite quote from that movie and favorite movie
LOL I say that quote all of the time too!!
I think a lot of younger people have no idea how popular Ernest was!
Great list as always Chase.
my version of A Christmas Carol is Scrooged lol
Jim Carreys version of the Grinch is my # 1 .
Don’t forget
*Serendipity
*While You Were Sleeping
*The Family Stone
*Bridget Jones Diary
*You’ve Got Mail
…and others like these!
you could see some of those on my "non traditional" Christmas movies list that is coming!
I generally agree with your picks, though it’s hard for me to tolerate Will Ferrell. I’ve never cared much for him in any movie, much less Christmas movies. I haven’t seen Elf in years for that reason.
he drives my wife crazy too lol
A Waltons The Homecoming is one of my favorites.
The House Without A Christmas Tree.
A Christmas Memory, the original one with Geraldine Paige .
Trapped in Paradise is a awesome nick cage Christmas comedy really worth watching every year! Also Bell Book and Candle is mostly a Christmas movie!
never seen it and I love Nick Cage! need to check it out!
Really surprised Madea's Christmas movie isn't on this list. It's a must in our home.
My Christmas movie list 1. Christmas vacations 2. It’s a wonderful life 3. Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus 4. A mom for Christmas 5. The Christmas Star 6. Elf 7. Home Alone 8. Love actually 9. Christmas with the Kranks 10. The Santa Claus 11. Christmas chronicles 12. The muppets Christmas Carol 13. Scrooge the musical 14. Jingle all the way 15. One magic Christmas 16. Die hard 17. Miracle on 34 of street 1994 version
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause with Charles Bronson and Richard Thomas ?
solid! very solid!
@AVAPopCulture I think they tell better stories.
Agree with you. These would be my all-time favorite Christmas movies including It's a Wonderful Life. I like many of the movies on his list as well. I think we just grew up at a different time. It is fantastic that there are so many good Christmas movies to choose from.
The Preachers Wife with Denzel and Whitney Houston.
The Polar Express
Mine:
1. Home Alone, I love the tall burglar 😊
2. Eyes Wide Shut, I'm watching right now and in the first 8 minutes I've already seen two Christmas trees 🎄🎄
3. The Holiday, great movie
4. All of the Christmas Carol movies
5. Gremlins
P.S., Sam Wainwright is the best part of It's a Wonderful Life.
Look for Gremlins on my Christmas horror favorites list!
That lasted one weekend before Stargate was moved to a smaller about 400 seat theater, but more importantly on the other side of the building.
part 2 is nothing like part 1
No love for Gremlins?
I consider Gremlins Christmas horror...look for it on a different list!
Top 3 of all time
3. Christmas Story
2. It’s a Wonderful Life
1. Krampus
I am glad you have had enough fun to stick around!! and YES! Die Hard is a Christmas movie!!!!!!! lol
My favorites are:
Home Alone 1&2, it’s a wonderful life, a Christmas carol (1984 and 2009), the muppets Christmas carol, Christmas vacation, klaus, elf, Arthur Christmas , the polar express, jingle all the way and Christmas with the kranks
Great video thanks for sharing.
My favourite Christmas films are: Scrooged, Home Alone, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Gremlins, Batman Returns, Christmas Evil, Violent Night and Silent Night, Deadly Night.
solid list!!! some of those are going to pop up on a couple of my upcoming lists ;)
Great episode - thanks my friend - keep it coming! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄👍👍👍💫💫💫
Thanks my friend!!
Mine are:
1. Christmas vacation
2. Gremlins
3. Scrooged
4. Trading places
5. Elf
6. Bad Santa
7. The Grinch (Jim Carrey version)
8. Lethal weapon

got some christmas horror and alternative christmas movies there -look for them on some upcoming best of lists!
@AVAPopCulture 😃👍
My favorites are A Christmas Carol ( 1951), Bad Santa, Silent Night Deadly Night, Trading Places, While She Was Out, The Santa Clausus ,It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street. Love the Live Action version of How the Grich stole Christmas too.
some of those may make my "alternative christmas movies" and "best christmas horror movie" lists
Love the list brother, great movies. You have me a few to watch this Christmas season that I didn't even think about. Ready to start watching tonight.
I hope you enjoy them and have a wonderful Holiday season! Let me know which ones you watch that you werent thinking about!
Catch Me If You Can as a Christmas movie??? Interesting
Nice list 👍🏽
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks man!
Thanks for sharing - great list!
(Mine starts with 1) Black Christmas [to get me over the Halloween hump]. 2) Die Hard, then, after that, anything Christmasie).
You will probably see Black Christmas on my list of "Best Christmas Horror Movies" that is coming soon!
Amazing list, and you nailed #1. Christmas vacation is the GOAT I 100% agree. I can watch this movie over and over at any time of the year.
you sir, have amazing taste lol!!!
@AVAPopCulture Lol, likewise, buddy.
Very nice list, Chase...
1. Elf
2. NL Christmas Vaction
3. The Holiday
4. Love Actually
5. Deck the Halls
6. Polar Express
7. Christmas with the Kranks
8. A Christmas Story
9. How the Grinch Stole Christmas 2000
10. Fred Clause
11. The Santa Clause (1-3)
12. Scrooged
13. Miracle on 34th Street (Original)
14. Office Christmas Party
15. Die Hard
Solid list my friend!! And Harley, it is funny you mention Fred Claus...my daughter is very unhappy with me that I failed to put it on the list LOL
@ i mean, Paul Giamatti… 💚🤣
Great list!
Have just watched Home Alone. Still fun!
I need more ginger bread! ”Lussebullar” too! Hehe. You would love those. Swedish tradition. Called ”Lussekatter”. Nothing smells as nice as when baking them. Serve with tea or hot coco. Yum! Look it up!
Cheers!
@@alfonsoagren414 I need to look it up!!!
You should include White Christmas and A mom for Christmas!
white christmas is just outside my top 15!
I do love White Christmas but it is actually surprisingly light on "Christmas" outside a couple of scenes...that may be why it never made it as high for me
The Family Man is my new favorite Christmas movie, its so good
Love that you’re into The Family Man! It’s such a feel-good movie for Christmastime but so overlooked!
Family man, violent night, Elf, Home Alone 1&2, Die Hard, Christmas with Kranks, Christmas Vacation, It's a Wonderful life, Miracle on 34 Street, A Christmas Story, Polar Express, Charlie Brown Christmas are what we watch.
1965 ‧ Family/Animation ‧ 25 mins
all of those get spun in my house many times this month lol
How the grinch stole christmas is so good in 4k
I really need to get How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Scrooged, Home Alone, and Elf in 4k but man, it is hard to come up with the $ for all this lol
1st :), I was just waiting for daily pop vid
thanks man!!! yeah, I had a little trouble with Adobe Premiere exporting the video - it crashed several times...I had planned to have it up at 2pm!
I did pretty good on this list seen and love most of these movies.
@@salmanmunawar1 you have good taste lol
Love the personal story with each movie
Right! Was just thinking about it, so came back to edit! But, yes, it’s definitely a great holiday movie!! Thanks 🙂
I haven't seen Ernest Saves Christmas yet.
Earnest movies are situationally funny like a cartoons. 😂
exactly!!!
fun and ridiculous but with a lot of heart!
To be fair, It's a Wonderful Life has nothing to do with Christmas until the end and you rank it #2, but you ding A Christmas Story for stuff going on that has nothing to do with Christmas 😂
That aside, good list for the season. I'm with you on Jingle All the Way. A lot of people don't like it, but i give it a watch every year.
it starts off in Heaven on Christmas, everything else that we see are mostly flashbacks getting us back to the current Christmas...but the "current story" is set up on Christmas.... I watch Jingle all the way at least once during every season and then it plays in the background at various points usually too
Great list! Saw Christmas Vacation in the theaters! Love the movie Fatman (2020) with Mel Gibson and Santa Claus The Movie (1985)
I love Christmas Vacation too - and Fatman is a must-watch - look for it on another list coming soon!
I like the movie but I keep taking heat for not having it on my list and I keep saying that it has surprisingly small amounts of actual "Christmas" in it
#1. White Christmas
#2. Holliday Inn
#3. It's A Wonderful
Life
#4. (The 1951 version) A Christmas Carol
#5. (The Original Version) Miracle On 34th Street
After number 5 nothing else matters.
I love White Christmas but honestly, it has surprisingly little to do with Christmas, or, little actual Christmas stuff in it -which is why it never nudged as high for me
I would also for sure include Planes, trains & automobiles on my list, definitely a classically funny, heart warming xmas movie (& who doesn’t love John Candy & Steve Martin?!). Have a wonderful Christmas & holiday season my friend!!🎄
let me know what you think about Daddy's Home 2 and Christmas Chronicles when you see them!
Great show and good choices. No "Trapped in Paradise" ? I find that is a good underrated one.
thanks! and I dont think I have ever seen Trapped in Paradise
@@AVAPopCulture Oh you should, Nicolas Cage, Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz. Very funny!
Honorable mentions: Christmas with the Kranks & Four Christmases
those are yearly watches here too! and my daughter is irritated that I didnt add Fred Claus too lol
Bruhhh, you have my top 2 movies so low at 13 and 15.....Killin Me Smalls!!! HA HA!
lol I knew there would be some thoughts on me having those a little lower but I love this whole list!
Perfect list 👌
thank you! I feel pretty good about it lol
LOVE Violent Night. Hoping that sequel starts filming soon!
same! cannot wait!
I plan to watch Violent Night this month, and i expect it to earn a place on my list. I hope i'm not disappointed 😋
enjoy it!!!! I love that movie!
My favourite 15 which does include horrors, are:
15 The Dorm That Dripped Blood 1982
14 Scrooged 1988
13 Trading Places 1982
12 To All A Good Night 1980
11 Black Christmas 1974
10 Silent Night, Deadly Night 1984
9 Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 1987
8 Batman Returns 1992
7 The Long Kiss Goodnight 1996
6 Lethal Weapon 1987
5 Die Hard 2 1990
4 A Christmas Carol 2000
3 Die Hard 1988
2 The Conjuring 2 2016
1 Love Actually 2003
My number 4 is a British tv movie, set in the present day, starring Ross Kemp as loan shark, Eddie Scrooge.
The Conjuring? I dont recall anything Christmas in that one lol... but I am working on separate lists for Horror and Alternative Christmas movies! to hard to rank something like Silent Night Deadly Night against It's a Wonderful Life or Elf lol
Daddys home 2 is def underrated as a great Christmas movie!
agreed! I love that one and nobody ever talks about it
Have you ever seen Shop Around the Corner? If you haven’t, you have to check it out! Especially since It’s a Wonderful Life was so high on your list 😄
yes! Ive seen it! It was mentioned on my Thanksgiving/Fall watch lists!
@ I’ll have to check that one out!
Its A Wonderful Life easy
one of my top 10 favorite movies of ALL TIME!
You said a Christmas story wasn't much about Christmas but the family man was
the whole thing takes place on Christmas because it is Christmas - it is then told in a "flash-sideways" of another version of his life at Christmas time building up to Christmas and circling back to the current Christmas
@AVAPopCulture didn't mean to say that family Man wasn't a Christmas movie but the same logic to a Christmas story is the building up of ralphie trying to convince is parents to get him the Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas
i am so sorry, but, you are wrong here, on more than one occasion, maybe it's just how the other side of the pond, and the world see this compared to the U.S. but try these, i did a top 10 rather than 15 (to allow some of your own to fill the remaining 5 :P lol
1: muppet christmas carol
2: national lampoons christmas vacation
3: love actually
4: trading places
5: joyeux noel
6: die hard
7: the appartment
8: Home alone
9: planes, trains and automobiles (technically thanksgiving, if you're american, the rest of the world, it's christmas)
10: gremlins
@tonlu4885 some of these are on my non traditional Christmas movie list
@@AVAPopCulture i noticed, but still, they deserve to be on the "all time" list just as much, i mean joeux noel? possibly the greatest real life christmas story of all time? great lists btw, but greatest is greatest ;) lol
The release date of It's a Wonderful Life was December 20, 1946, not July.
wrapped filming in July, that's what I was thinking of
Jingle All the Way is top 3 for me
big Jingle All The Way love! I like it!
"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" 2024 movie directed by Dallas Jenkins
I love the Family Man
me too! I feel like it is underrated
no love for poor Charlie Brown. dayum. 😂
nah, I mentioned I was doing Feature films only for this one! Charlie Brown, Rudolph, etc are in a different list for me!
@@AVAPopCulture I know you did, couldn't resist. Hey I've never seen the Christmas Chronicles? (need to double check that title) with Kurt, gotta check that one out. Great job on this list!
@stickywicked447 the Christmas chronicles is on Netflix! It is really good! And thanks man!!
@@AVAPopCulture yeah I searched it up, I don't have Netflix but it's on my list to watch. btw, tomorrow is the 9th, should be a release date of a certain movie we've been waiting patiently for forever! Will be checking email hourly!
1. Christmas Vacation
2. Elf
3. A Christmas Story
4. Its a wonderful life
5. Miracle on 34th Street
6. Home Alone
7. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
8. The Santa Clause
9. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
10. Scrooge
Solid! But I put Planes, Trains, and Automobiles squarely in the Thanksgiving Movie list!
The Cheaters
The Man Who Came To Dinner. Montey Woolery and Bette Davis.
Elf is another good 4k pickup.
It’s a classic, gotta have it!
1. Die Hard
2. The Nightmare Before Christmas
3. It's A Wonderful Life
4. Lethal Weapon
5. A Christmas Story
6. Arthur Christmas
7. Go
8. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
9. Gremlins
10. Elf
11. Happiest Season
12. While You Were Sleeping
13. The Ref
14. Home Alone
15. Violent Night
solid list! you may see some of those on the horror list
Muppets would probably beat Scrooged for me. Still need to see Daddy's Home 1&2. Klaus would probably make my list
It is funny because I grew up more with Scrooged than The Muppets... Daddy's Home 2 is so different from part 1...you dont even need to have seen part 1 to follow and enjoy part 2
No miracle on 34th Street?? Please … definitely a top 10
I tend to watch it the day after Thanksgiving...has a lot of Thanksgiving crossing into Christmas vibes to me
@@AVAPopCulture Everyone has their own "vibes" but it starts with the Macy's CHRISTMAS parade and the main character is SANTA CLAUS. Hard for me see it as anything but a Christmas movie. But it's your list ...
@MevPasscheck-zh9pw starts with the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade
A Christmas Story is not my favorite either!
Everybody has an opinion. Just because this dude has a ridiculous degree in "film studies" doesn't make his superior.
My favorite movie wasn't even in the top 15 for you but it's called the Christmas shoes my mom my sister and me watch it every year it Nexus cry every year
those types of tear jerkers are hard for me lol...
I just got the Christmas Vacation 4k, I cant wait to watch it!
my wife hates the christmas story lol
so does mine lol
Bad Santa #1 gremlins in there somewhere too good list
look for those coming up on my best christmas horror and best alternative christmas movies lists coming soon!
Yep, this is your list. A lot of yours would not have even made my list.
Christmas Carol over s
ScroogeD.
I'm not sure why polar express and jack frost would not be in this list. 2 tear jersey movies
Polar Express has never been a big hit in our house for whatever reason...my kids never liked it that much and I was never a big fan of the animation in that one.... Jack Frost is a good one!
How about 8 bit Christmas?
I like that one, it was on my 25 days of Christmas watch list but it hasnt worked it's way into my top 15 yet!
Don't like your list! You can't have The Christmas Story, coming in at # 15, way to low! You don't even list, Miracle on 34th, which, I think is truly a all time classic!
Check your tip jar ;) $1 per movie reviewed. Love the personal stories.
So it was a good decision to do 15 instead of 10, lol
I am so happy you enjoy the personal stories! That is what makes it fun for me to make these videos! Thanks so much for the support my friend!!
hahaha you never know when your hard work will pay off!! ;)
For good measure I signed up for patreon as well.
@salmanmunawar1 I appreciate that too man! Make sure you see the newest videos for your name in the big neon lights!!
White Christmas!!!!!!!
White Christmas is on the outside looking in of my top 15...it is surprisingly light on "Christmas"
Bad Santa #1 for me ever since the first time I saw it. Caught it 4 times at the theater when it was first released and it is my must watch movie every year
I do like Bad Santa! look for it on my upcoming "alternative christmas movie" list coming soon!
I never liked Christmas Story i haven't watched it since the 90s
It was never a favorite for me like so many other people
@AVAPopCulture as a kid in was always way more into Jingle All the Way and the Grinch but now I can't watch the Grinch with Jim Carry because of the Actress who played Cindy grew up to be the singer of the Pretty Reckless and I had a major crush on her so any time I see it I just see her as what she looks like as an adult in her music videos and it's weird so til I can disensiate the 2 it's something that's hard for me to watch
@@DareDevil0504 I didn't know that, interesting...Pretty Reckless singer was something else, lol.
@@stickywicked447 lol yea it's wild to think at 10 she was starring in a movie with Jim Carry and all the other legendary actors to Opening up for AC/DC for the last year and her music is good but the videos mostly are not for kids
What about the
Disney ones
Rudolph
I put those in a different category .... they arent feature films so Id need to do their own lists
Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!
Put that 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪 doen
Christmas story is on my do not watch list. LoL absolutely hate it.
it is not my favorite...I acknowledge it is a classic to the masses and it is a day after christmas watch for me while cleaning up the house lol...it is playing in the background
The Holiday focuses on two women. It's their stories.
Also, A Mom for Christmas is about a girl and her mom who's a mannequin. And the movie Prancer is about a girl.
Miracle on 34th Street too. 😊
I just can't get into Elf. I don't know why, but I just can't get into any Will Farrell movie. I just don't like anything he does.
my wife is that way...she doesnt like the so goofy it is over the top humor
White Christmas
Only one movie that is good on this list.
Id have to disagree
@AVAPopCulture to each their own.
My granddaughter didn't like the grinch
Iscared
Her t
Violent Night. Easily one of my top movies over the last several years, christmas or not. I do feel too many people havent given it a proper chance because they think its a horror movie from the poster.
I 100% agree! and I have actually battled with a lot of people here who swear it is a Horror movie lol
Die Hard
I don’t 👍 a 🎄🎅🤶🧑🎄 story also Jim Carey grinch Benedict Cumberbatch grinch 👍
Also couldn’t watch clips of 🎄🎅🧑🎄 story 👅 stuck to flagpole still scares me 😱 I’m 32
that part always makes me cringe so hard!!!
i fricken hate that movie(#15) i think its the stupidest movie ever made.
not my favorite either but I acknowledge so many people love it - it plays when we are cleaning up the house after Christmas day lol
@@AVAPopCulture lol
