Thank you, Anastasiia Herasymchuk, Tomonori Yoshizaki, and Anastasia Polishchuk, for this very interesting conversation. I think the contributions of many countries - including Japan - are enormously underrated in reporting. 🇺🇦 Перемоги та миру всім українцям! 🇺🇦
We 🇯🇵 have two opposite histories and perspectives as colonized by the Western powers and a colonizer of the neighboring countries. After our defeat in WW2, we were offered a chance to relearn democratic values and our heritage of struggles for them. Mainly thanks to our geopolitical importance during the Cold War, we were privileged to receive generous assistance from the West to rebuild our country, having no single doubt that the world learned from history and left the war in the past. So this russia's full-scale war against 🇺🇦 in 2022 shocked us, it feels like a total violation not only of our struggles after the opening of our country in 1854 and 1945 but also blatant insults to our partners who gave us huge support and to our shared values for which countless innocent people were killed and sacrificed themselves. I don't think the majority of us have been aware of 🇺🇦situations since 2014. The unbelievable brutality, that we did to our neighbors and believed it would never be repeated again, moves us strongly to show our commitment to 🇺🇦 and its fight for freedom and take a clear stand against russia's fascism challenging the rule-based world order. A bit off-topic, but 🇺🇦 old wooden houses look very similar to ours😮 and the brave 🇺🇦 soldiers always remind me of our samuraï spirit, which many of us have forgotten, unfortunately. It's our war. I just wish we could do more and faster💔 Glory to Ukraine 🇯🇵🫶🇺🇦
I am always educated by your episodes. Thank you
