It's hard to believe that 30 yrs have passed since I took my last lesson from this world known Hung Gar Grandmaster (1977 to 1985) I believe he still teaches at the "Seattle Kung Fu Club" open 1963 until today. What a fantastic and amazing human being, I am proud to call him my teacher! Congratulations on a job well done...
Update: While in Seattle China Town picking up food, I decided to visit "The Seattle Kung Fu Club", have not been there since 1985 after studying 8 years. It's was like going back in time, I could not believe Sifu Leong looked the same, he told me he would be 78 years old soon...
He was my sifu, too. At 5th and King in Seattle. He would never let us photograph this stuff. I took my sons to a demo up the block from the KF Club about 10 years ago and we could not video tape. I was very disappointed because he did both of the demos shown in this video. I've been telling people since the 1970's that he could do these impossible things. Now there is veideo proof. Thank you, Sifu, for sharing.
Martial arts were made to be practical. Leong Sifu may not be flashy but, he was ambassador to the Shaolin Temple and world famous as a kung fu instructor and practitioner for a reason...
Okay, I'm almost certain the form Leung Sifu is demonstrating is the Tiger and Crane Form. Otherwise, it would be the Taming the Tiger Set if I'm mistaken..
I was a member of Seattle Kung Fu club from 1999-2002, and I have competed in Florida, and San Francisco, and finally in tiger balm tournament back in 2001 under Seattle Kung fu club. I was a heavy weight and I won in 2000 3ed place and in 2001 second place. I lack the video of the fight. Kindly if you do have access to anyone who were there then, please share my email.
John Leong a man of WISDOM.
