Got to be one of my all time favorite bits, rivaled only by Tony Danza and the Joe Piscopo beatings. We can poke fun at Yakov all we want, but credit where credit is due, this guy knew what he was doing. I'm old enough to remember when Yakov was literally a household name during the '80s. He had to have made a ton of money at the time. On top of that, I was floored to find out this guy's horrendous theater show ran for 28 straight seasons! It was cornball, but he had it figured out and probably lives like a king. There's a lot to be said about being a big fish in a small pond. What a country indeed!

According to the reviews on Trip Advisor: You ONLY get water, they have no other drinks and the food was handed out to guests at the end of each row who then passed it to other guests. The show apparently isn't a comedy show and now that Yakov has a psychology degree it's more of a marriage counseling session.

You know, Yakov was popular in the 80's when the Cold War was still going. The fact that he's still very successful about 23 years after the collapse of the Soviet Union is a credit to his ability to market himself to the right audience. Plus, he could enjoy a resurgence after/during the war we'll have with Russia/China. lol
Too right. I'm not sure why people are hating on him so much. Yes he's corny, but if you ever listen to or see his interviews, he's quite intelligent, earthy, and the story of how he got from Odessa, Ukraine to Branson, Missouri is pretty compelling.
