Hello, I am an adamant American cheese defender. It's not fake cheese it's just cheddar cheese emulsified with sodium nitrate which is perfectly safe and useful to cook with. The cheese you think of that's wrapped in plastic isn't good american cheese. It's mostly milk and cream. If you get some actual good American cheese it's pretty good.
I like how people will smile at nacho cheese, but then call "American Cheese" processed filth. They both use the exact same nacho emulsifying agent most of the time (sodium citrate is literally Na3C6H5O7). Yes, it's not just straight aged/fresh curd pressed into a block or wet hunt cut, but it's not like it's 5 billion "evil chemicals" (water is a chemical ffs, it's not an evil word unless you're ignorant).
I dunno what's with the hate for the american cheese. No, it's not good cheese, but it's just... colby jack and cheddar mixed with some sodium citrate. It's made of real (cheap) cheese with a bit of a weird salt that makes it melt nice.
Here is a new recipe : Put melted butter on the pizza dough Put mashed potatoes on the dough Add some slices of pineapple to it Put some chicken cut into pieces Then put any type of cheese on it And put it in the oven! Hope you use this recipe! It's called Home Sweet Home Pizza 🍕👍!
