Great review. I actually did pretty much the same thing earlier today checking out all the different areas. I also have the three UK Orbx packs and the London and Dublin landmarks packs, and like you, Dublin was the only place I had issues, and they were the same issues you were. Removing the Dublin landmarks pack fixes it of course, but obviously that's not a long term solution. I really hope Orbx gives us an update to fix this. I also wish that Asobo would communicate with 3rd parties to avoid issues like these, but that's never going to happen. Crazy when you think about it, considering Orbx are one of Asobo's partner developers.
On a separate note Huddison, you show us humble simmers a great deal of empathy & the sound of your calm friendly voice goes a long way to soothing the furrowed brows for us mortals struggling with our flightsims & long may you continue to do it Sir!
Well Xbox s here and what I found out Is that after flying out of London city AP a couple of times it did look better. Some rendering as usual but I didn’t get as many bombed outbuildings as before and I finally found the Ferris wheel that I have not seen before. But it is an Xbox s and it is what it is. Going for the X series and Mays way down the road a PC😮 but as for now my S is doing Ok and as always with Xbox, ( once more into the breach ). As always keep up the good work, great community😀🇺🇸🪖👍🙏🏼
Exclusion polygons with Orbx's Dublin City is thwarting WU XVII's photogrammetry in many places, especially along the Liffey. Many thanks for your efforts in doing this very useful video!
I have EGLC and N,C,S UK all by Orbx. And I don't see any conflicts. But I do NOT have Orbx Dublin. But I do have MK Studios EIDW airport, and there are melted buildings around it. But not if I remove MK Studios Dublin EIDW. I did not see these issues anywhere else in the UK with other airport addons payware from the marketplace: EGPT, EHGE, EGBB, EGLK. So, only at that one airport in Dublin (MK Studios EIDW) do I see strangeness.
Hello Huddison, I've installed the update and so far, it is running great! I run it on Xbox S series consol on a wireless home network and it looks amazing! No melted buildings or stutters and the detail they have added is stunning! So far, I've just flown from London City airport up around Heathrow and then over to Wembley Stadium in the stock Cessna 152 flying under 100 knots, my next flight I'm going to try a faster airplane to see how the scenery loads. I've only tried London and a bit of East Midlands so far, and initially noticed a couple of football stadiums with severe Z-fighting. However, after installing the 2nd update which came later yesterday, I have noticed no issues so far. This update is absolutely fantastic - so many new objects and details added (I do max my OLOD to 200 btw). Combined with the Orbx stuff, London is truly stunning now! PS - try cranking your TLOD up to 200 or more, if your system can handle it - for me this has all but eliminated the flyover rendering...and just makes everything look even better!
Orbx - London City Airport (EGLC) v2.0.0 does show mesh issues at the end of end of taxiway towards runway 27 on the rights side on the edge of the water. Also under all bridges in london can have less textures and more better looking water. Also around the many boats & ships if you ask me. I have all Orbx addonds and all other.

have a look at Cardiff if you use GSX you get people and passenger stairs on top of terminal buildings, they’ve obviously used the free Cardiff that was on the web which produced the identical problem and didn’t do their research
I am an XBOX X flyer & did the World XVII update recently. I have a couple of issues currently, I specify my departure & arrival destinations & select Fly. After seeing all the usual screens thinking I'm going to be on the departing runway, the Sim kicks me out altogether & I end up back at the main XBOX screen where I fire up Flightsim2020 all over again. This happeneed 3 times in a row but on the 4th attempt I actually made it on to the runway but all my avionics displays were blackscreen??? I'm flying an FSReborn500 turboprop. like you I also have Huddison International as my favourite airport to depart from as I love the London skyline & all the beautiful landmarks. Honestly though, MSFS2020 / 2024 is a real challenge for XBOX methinks. Trouble is, a decent PC to run these titles properly requires an investment in some serious hardware plus a lot of learning.
Awesome scenery WU 17. But quite disappointed they’ve still forgotten the 3 piers at Blackpool. The Orbx central for Blackpool is better but there still some inaccuracies such as the Winter Gardens appearing as a large flat roof. Office blocks in the Pleasure Beach and you can’t see the arcades along the seafront, Funland, Madame Tussaud’s etc appear as office blocks. Would be nice to see some trams as well and illuminations. I think an Orbx update or a specific Orbx pack for Blackpool is needed with all the arcades and realistic buildings. I often get the Bandwidth notification but I think it’s due to my broadband, we still have copper ADSL in our area, there’s no fibre BB here yet, but it still works I just ignore and everything renders and that’s with average of only 11 Mbps.
There are plenty of glitches caused by clashes with Orbyx scenery and WU 17 and not just in London, with its Thames sandbars, etc.. Read the MSFS Forum item/poll. In addition: no static or other planes in Stanstead - totally bare, Edinburgh Castle is borked - lots of details you missed. Also, just as entering the border of the new London region (Before hitting the city proper), a stutter fest starts and the tiles change color. I have R7 5800x3d, RTX 3080, Gigabyte fiber, Samsung NvMe and running Auto FPS. All other areas run silky smooth. Orbyx admitted problems and are now working on fixes, but will take lots of time to patch.
Again a very good review and test on identifying any possibility of conflict with the referred Orbx mod's. Unfortunately I can't confirm the same for the moment, i.e. no issues, as WU17 put me in "CTD situation" at 90-95% loading running the simulator. As we speak, I first have to solve this issue and you will definitely hear my comments on similar testing procedures. Although I'm very relieved by the outcome of your tests. Many thanks for that.
@@Huddison I'm happy to say yes. Carefully built the sim up again from WU16, empty the community folder and local cache. Reinstalled all of the Orbx software again and while flying identical legs and places, experienced also the same. No issues and or conflicts anywhere. All looks beautiful and as far as I can judge, very realistic. I will continue loading my mods step by step again, hopefully towards my original built.
The scenery overall of WU17 in combination with the (3) Orbx Great Britain packs is so magnificent and to me one of the best. Enjoy to fly across the UK!
Looks like simMarket's uk-coastlines_morph-fix_1_6 package supresses selected TIN areas in Liverpool area. It may do the same in other places. I have removed it from the sim.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to do this video. I erred on the side of caution and uninstalled the Orbx North, South and Central addons for fear of them causing grief. After watching this video, I will add them back in. I also uninstalled the British Isles Mesh (purchased through Orbx) thinking that might no longer be needed. Do you have any thoughts on that particular add on??
The Mesh was one I was going to test, but the video was running on for long enough. I'm in no rush to reinstall it now that the DEM over Ireland and Scotland has been improved.
I haven’t had any photogrammetry messages or freezes, and very little stuttering. My PC isn’t great but it has no issues with WU17. My loading times are extremely long but I’m not sure if they’re worse than before.
A very helpful video Huddison I was wondering I have 3 party POI like the peace bridge here in derry city but ms has featured it in the new update I would rather keep the 3rd party peace bridge but now I have two is there a way to delete the p o I from the update in msfs2020.
Have you deleted your caches? That normally corrects conflicts. It will run a little stuttery as it rebuilds the cache but normally clears up quite quickly
Finished the new UK and Ireland up date and now msfs only runs in safe mode, therefore the base game is ok and points to a issue within an addon in the Community Folder. I run Add on Linker so I'll rename the Community Folder and run MSFS in normal to check it will run in normal mode. If it runs I need to check by recent marketplaces purchases. I now have an issue using the FPS generation Add on. Everything was running perfectly before the up date 🤐. Advise would be very much appreciated.
To clarify: you're now able to run the Sim in Normal mode? If you can't use MSFS with your Community folder enabled, I would start removing your most recent mods until you can.

I tried the update yesterday and, while it's a great improvement, I'm still seeing morphing of cliffs, especially the chalk cliffs on the south coast. Does the simMarket UK Coastline fix stop this. I've held off purchasing this until I know it works successfully with the new update. Can any body help?
I'm on Xbox S aswell, Been using it to study what can be seen from the Air around where I'm having Lessons. The update hasn't worked for me, Trees put in where there aren't any, and the Hangar at my Airfield has become a House! It seems over the top on the Foliage to me.
I'm still getting a giant Fulham Football Club (so large it's visible from the runway at Heathrow and London city airport) with the Orbx London Pack installed. It was happening before the latest World update though. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it's still there. Any ideas of how to get rid of that? Playing on Xbox Series S
Hiya mate. You could try a couple of things as I had this issue. Delete the landmarks pack and then delete rolling cache. Re set cache and try again loading back the landmarks pack. Or you can leave the landmarks off as we have a good london now. Either way you must re set your rolling cache file. It may have fragments of your old version of london.
I've not looked for it since the update, but someone mentioned that they saw me fly over it in my livestream. I'll make a point of looking out for it (once I have the update installed on my desktop PC).
Sumburgh looks OK. I have the Orbx scenery installed. Only slight problem is a sharp change of ground level as you exit on the taxi way at the end of runway 35.

There are sand banks around some London bridges. I will try without ORBX London.

There's a duplicate viaduct visible on finals for Cardiff's RWY30.

I flew over Beachy Head,and there are two lighthouses. I have Orbyx south installed. Other than that,so far it's looking good.
