  • This is a tour of our PUP before we do any renovations on it. We like it just the way it is, but will probably touch it up a bit along the way.

    Been looking into a pop up camper for my small family of 4, wanted a comprehensive video of what to expect with a pop up and you seem to have made the best video yet. Thanks for sharing your camper and good luck!

    That is very roomy❤️ we’ve talked of getting a camper in the future and this would be a nice option. For when we do more road trips. For now we camp in our large tent. 😍

    What a pity I didn’t see this earlier as you can make a bunk bed to sit on top of the table area.

    I just found your video from 4 years ago I just bought a jayco series 10. First thing is thank you for the video. I thought I needed a table for the stove to go outside. But you showed me that I didn't. I do have a question. I was able to figure out All the polls for the beds inside and out. But I have 2 arch polls That I have know idea what they are for. If you my have any idea would you please let me know

    Can one person set up a pop up alone ? I grew up camping with one but they have changed significantly since the early 70’s

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  2 года назад +1

      It definitely helps to have a helping hand, but it can totally be done by yourself. My husband would do it all the time when he would pop it up to air it out or work on it.

    Hello,
    I enjoyed your video. I found it helpful.
    I am considering buying a 1991 Jayco 1006. I am a 72 year old man, I still have good upper body strength but I do have some knee arthritis. Do you think I could set this camper up with out a lot of problems?

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  Год назад

      Hi!! I would recommend watching some other videos on setting up a popup camper and seeing what the process is really like and how much it could potentially irritate your knees. I think for the most part it would be fine, but there are some things you have to get low for like extending the stabilizers and putting the supports under the bed slides. We have actually sold this camper, but we enjoyed it so much! Happy camping!!

    where do i get those poles from to keep the roof up

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  3 года назад +2

      If your camper didn’t come with the poles, you could always call a camper dealership that sells your brand and see what they know. Or, even try Amazon or EBay. Hope that helps! 😊

    Are you going to show any updates?

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  4 года назад +1

      corynardin So far we haven’t really done anything to it other than replace the curtains because it’s in really great shape. Just not all that “pretty” on the inside. At the time of the video, we were considering selling our travel trailer and just using the popup. Since then, we’ve decided to keep both. We let friends borrow our popup all the time. And, sometimes we get the itch to take the popup out ourselves. Maybe the next time we take her out, I’ll do a video of the curtains. We bought them online and they’re great! Thanks for watching! 😊

    I crank it up easy enough but how to crank it down? Please show?

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  3 года назад +1

      We use the same hand crank that makes it go up to bring it back down as well. Just turn it in the opposite direction. Hope that helps!

    How do u turn the outside lights on??

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  4 года назад

      Hi! If you pause the video at the 7:16 mark, you can see under the light is a little knob. You just twist it to the right to turn the light off and on. It is not connected to any switches on the inside. I hope that helps! Happy camping! 😊

    How do you put the door down?

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  4 года назад +1

      Breanna King the door is latched to the ceiling for storage. After setting up the camper, you just unlatch it and it swings down into the door frame into place. I believe there are latches that hold it into place. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  4 года назад +1

      Also, around the 6:26 mark, you’ll see the two silver latches that hold the door during storage on the ceiling in front of the A/C unit.

    How do you lock the door and store it

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  3 года назад

      There is no lock. You’re basically in a tent with air conditioning. We just don’t leave valuables in it. As far as storage, we have a cover for it made for pop-ups that’s simple to put on it once it’s lowered down and packed back up. Hope that helps.

    I was wondering if anyone here on the comment section could potentially guide me in the correct direction as I just bought this same exact model the 93 edition 1006. However, I have never owned a pop-up camper and the camper that I bought did not come with an owner's manual. I don't know how to put it down or pop it up. Any help as far as an owner's manual or any instruction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

    • @mandyk728
      @mandyk728  Год назад +1

      I would say to search some How To videos on RUclips to learn anything you need to know about your pop-up. A lot of these older ones go up and down the same way. We sold ours, but we looked up so many videos on all sorts of things on this camper! It’s a great camper! Best of luck!
