these pads are great they bite really good. with barely pressing on the brakes, i paired them with slotted rotors. only downside is youll get alot of brake dust. im running akebonos now only 1k miles in theyre good also less brake dust.
Haven’t heard of Akebonos before, I’ll have to check them out! Supposedly these RedStuffs and low dust pads but, having just washed my car, I think you’re right. Fair bit of dust on the rears.
@@TheParkingLotMechanic yea youll usually notice it inside the rim like gray at first then it builds up into thicker bits the more you run. But that was least of my worries cause performance, superb. Akebono is a reputable japanese brake company idk howd theyd deal on track but for back road rips they hold up
@@SvG627 I'm not terribly concerned about dust either. Nothing a wash can't fix! The pads are great so far. I'll have to look into that company though!
@@SilverShamrock71 if you hand wash your car, whatever wash you use will get it off if you go over it with a sponge. I use Chemical Guys products and they do well on a regular wash, but they do have Diablo Gel Wheel Cleaner that I have and use and it’s great. Definitely a better finish than a car wash leaves but for simply cleaning the dust off, any regular car wash works well!
The kit was borrowed but I believe it's this one: www.harborfreight.com/automotive/auto-shop-tools/brakes/disc-brake-pad-and-caliper-service-tool-kit-11-piece-63264.html

@@TheParkingLotMechanic what are the best cleaning products for the Redstuff compound please? Just the regular stuff, e.g. Sonax and how often?

EBC state these are not for track use.
"Aggressive street use" - sounds like me.
Drilled rotors are worse than plain rotors. Modern materials mean that you do not gain anything from using drilled rotors. Grooved rotors are better.
Hopefully it calms your nerves to know the rotors in my wishlist are slotted. Not too keen on the potential cracking from drilled ;)
