Auf vielfachen Wunsch haben wir das Video deutsch und englisch untertitelt. The video now has english subtitles, enjoy!🤘
Danke für die deutschen Untertitel! Tom konnte ich ohne nicht verstehen. :)
Thanks for the subs, actually helpful! 🙏👍
Thanx, I mean, danke!
Who is the guy next to Tom!? Martin!? if he is, how the hell reach the stage so goddamn fast!? Did he teletransportate o what!?
@@dftns The guy next to Tom during the Interview is called Ike. They say he is a Metal-Expert.
Words cannot express how awesome this is. What begins as a mere mid-80's tv interview in cute, flashy, pastel-coloured studio soon transforms into epic black metal gig with devoted audience of headbangers! Beynond perfect!
FUCK YEAH!
Except, if you had listened to the interview, Tom said that Celtic Frost is not black metal.
@@anthonybernero9720 what he said they was?
Arkadiusz Trześniewski ya perfect.... like they are just "airbanding" or something... ya thats right lyp syncing as bad as the simpson girl!
@@tobiastovar382 He actually says he just cant stand all that satanic shit behind black metal or heavy metal in general. And adds that they just want to do the music they want to do.
Celtic Frost is a top 5 thrash metal band for me....it sounds so evil and raw...as supposed to be...
I'm 54 yo and still headbanging to their songs...till I die!!!
GREETINGS FROM🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻, I HAVE, 48 YEAR OLD, TILL DEATH😂😂😂😂😂
Hey it’s no cherry orchids 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The front row headbanging is almost as good as the Band!
Those motherfuckers didn't care if it was a playback. The rest of the audience seemed so stale. Hell if I was there I'd headbang like there was no tomorrow!
Man, that's pure fucking Metal. Those kids right there were the shit.
When Slayer just wasn't enough... Meet Celtic Frost. These guys were
f*in primal! I still have my pristine vinyl of these guys.
They never were as polished as Slayer but I bought that vinyl when I was 13 years old...........Im nearly 50 now and still love this.
whiptech anything slayer did at that time was better
Your not fucking kidding I am 49 years old now I bought Morbid Tales just out of curiosity when I was probably 13 yrs old. Crypt of Rays on album stands right up there with the best of Slayer i concur...Huge Slayer fan but that song is a gem.
Celtic Frost is a great band period love the guitar tone heavy as fuck
Celtic Frost were always a million times better than Slayer, because they did something new and inspiring with the heavy metal sound that nobody had ever done since Black Sabbath. Amazing band. And so fucking awesome!
Celtic Frost, Venom & Slayer= all 3 bands were my music gateway back in high school and im proud to say theyre still among my favorite metal bands
I have always LOVED Celtic Frost! Incredible band. From day one they slammed..Especially in those days, but Tom G Warrior still carries on the morbid tradition in his more recent band, Triptykon!!Rest In Peace, Martin Ain..
Discovered these guys back in 1985 on a metal comp tape with Destruction, Exodus, Venom, Bulldozer, Megadeth, (even Metallica), VOIVOD, Slayer, Possessed and Exciter. Still have the Maxell tape it was recorded on (labeled 11/10/85).
The first Speed Kills comp on Music For Nations, total classic!
Speed Kills! I have that compilation on vinyl! I play the hell out of it.
Yep I had that cassette lol
I had a similar mixed tape from 84’, except it was Wham, Depeche Mode, Bananarama, AlanParsons, and Duran Duran. Heavy shit.
@@matthews852 still good shit
I’m 45 and still raise the horns to classic underground
Such smart and down to earth guys. I wish the interview could have been longer. I love hearing Tom and Martin talk.
Thanks for your comment, but it is only Tom who is doing the interview. The other guy is Iscaac Darso, not Martin. For more information: www.metal-archives.com/artists/Isaac_Darso/17045
I remember being in High School, and waiting for latest Hit Parader with announcements from Metal Blade records and the like, with new acts/album releases. Owned every vinyl these guys ever released, scouring for imports. Grateful parents could care less what I listened to at the time.
Yes ...man those were such building block days Huh? Miss those days large.... like the dude above with the early metal comp with voi vod ....bulldozer etc...great days of discovering...I had a comp ..metal for breakfast...how I heard mercyful fate first time...anvil was on there...Bloto...accept I think. Santa brought me that little metal gem Fer Christmas!!!!!
deskducker i did the same thing... I'll buy me the magazine ( Hit Parader) each month..I would buy every cassette that they would print out that just came out or was coming out....them were the good day's
I love how the show and the background music is so happy and they just go with it and enjoy the interview!
Well not all Metalheads listen to just Metal.
@@stoopidhaters never said they did bruh haha
@@applaudtherockstar7893 Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as a dick.
The background music is an instrumental version of "The Flyer" by canadian prog rock band Saga. Great band as well as Celtic Frost. They were big in germany
@@stoopidhaters no harm bud😊
I am wrong here in 2019 wanna go back to my 80's 😢😢😢
Let us build a timemachine !!! :)
Im in!
@Morgh123 You experienced it as a kid, as did I. But I assume it was great for adults as well of course.
Just be...
Tom’s talking voice in the interview is like a tiny little swiss german elf but then when he starts singing it becomes like Tom Araya but an octave lower
Nah hes like lemmy but the opposite pitch.
bruh thats so true
More like Venoms Cronos than Tom Araya.
Not only did they have great songs that would cause instant head bang, but their sound was awesome and unique. Ahh the good 'ol days. I'm so glad I grew up back then listening to rock and metal and not the marketing garbage most teens grow up with now.
I remeber being a kid on family vacation at my Grandmothers old folks trailer park in Florida. I was bored to tears and climbing the walls for something to do. I had MTV power hour (whatever it was called) on. They played mostly Ratt and Anvil and shit like that. Then they played Circle of the Tyrants. Felt like I was hit by lightening. UHN!
Ive loved extreme metal since that moment.
It was Much Music [Canada's music station] that showed Circle of the Tyrants on Power Hour.......blew me away too.
Das ist so surreal. wenn man sich das anschaut und das vom "Interviewraum" zum "Gig" wechselt, denkt man sich doch echt nur: "krass!" ^^
Early Celtic Frost influenced me beyond words. Emperors Return and Morbid Tales are classic. I happened upon the Emperors Return cassette at a record shop...I was familiar with Hellhammer from a comp. but they were hard to get a hold of here in the states at the time (1985/86). I bought Slayer "show no mercy" on pic. vinyl and was browsing the metal tapes and the artwork for Emperors Return immediately caught my eye. I had an extra $5 and took a risk. Went home with that and Sodom "obsessed by cruelty" on cassette (still have 'em!).
Celtic Frost stood out ( I was and remain a fan the Moorcock "Elric of Melnibone" stories and occultism...Black Arts by Cavendish...Crowley), I couldn't hear enough. I introduced them to my friends and we immediately became Celtic Frost cult! I remember an old leather vest I had painted the Celtic Frost logo on! Spikes and leather man! My friends and I went on to various reform schools and juvenile institutions.
Metal for sure!
"I don't kill girls" - Tom G. Warrior
😳
SRF Archiv That’s what the translation said. I thought it was funny.
That‘s right, he says it in a funny way.
Back when bands actually played live… wait…
😅
But they danced real swell.
Hahahaha

I like the fact that these young men are very intelligent and very well spoken. Wich would be a surprise for people who don't understand this kind of music.
It surprises me that metal has the most caring people when it comes to people in the audience/mosh pit because people help each other
In other genres of music, my music teacher was talking about the beatles and how the women of their audience were pushed against each other in crowds so much that many literally passed out as an example compared to metal audiences and moshpit/Stagedive etiquettes.
i loved these guys from the first time i saw their Lp " Morbid Tales" in the small import section of a record store in Chicago around 1985. Before i even heard it , i just had a feeling this was going to be great, different stuff. i was just getting into more underground Metal at the time and looking for the heaviest , darkest stuff. The promotional sticker on the front and the back cover photos gave me a clue this was something i needed !!!
mit Celtic Frost fing bei mir Alles an. Geil, danke ! Black Metal ist für mich seither das einzig Wahre....

When everyone favored Venom and Slayer "I" fell in love with Celtic Frost at the tender age of 15 (1984, ya im kinda old) i still jam them today...(i even have their logo tattooed on my back)...

A song about Gilles de Rais at a kids show. This is why we love the absurd career Frost had.
Is a kids show??
Brutal track from the Frost! The guys front stage are headbanging like crazy!!!
Loving Celtic from from Pennsylvania, USA. Sehr gut!!!!
These guys were fn pioneers. This was pre-goth metal,pre-black metal.Just the look alone influenced the whole black metal scene. To my knowledge,no one was doing that back then. You couldn't lump them in with glam, thrash or power metal. They were something else entirely. They were in a class of their own.
They were ground zero for thrash metal, black metal, death metal, gothic metal, avant garde metal & even a big part of the early prog metal & doom metal scene.Absolutely they were pioneers & no band has ever sounded like them, or ever will.
No but you could say death metal cuz it was already starting that's what I considered them to be and I can't stand being catogorized
Venom was doing all of this since 81, the heavy fast music, some of which was written as early as 79, the leather and rivets, all except for the facepaint, but KISS had that covered since 73, which must have inspired them somewhat, Tom is even using an Ibanez Iceman here, just like Paul Stanley.
one of the greatest and most influencial metal bands ever everthing from thrash /death/black/gothic even some doom and symphonic metal has been influenced by the frosties at some point martin eric ain R.I.P.

I'm not good at heavy metal history, but it seems to me that those guys contributed A LOT to what would be known later as black metal.
Excellent quality

Tom G Warrior is by far my favorite metal singer
God, i love the combination of that background music in the interview with this two guys speaking about music. By the way, this sounds so punk at times really, and even goth, great band!
1985, footage sounded much better than expected , hell yeah

No, we don't have it.
sad! I remember these band in this same show back in 1985, great memories.
Yeah, I think they performed "Bestial Invasion" didn't they?

There's something very unique about their sound. It's dark but it's also kind of like... buttery smooth? The bass and rhythm guitar tones blend in a very slick way - the drums are perfectly slotted in there as well.

How can you tell that? I am looking at the drummer (at the few points they show him) and it seems he strikes the drums exactly as he should , to produce the sound. I cannot say about the guitars playing , I do not know guitar. But the drummer seems he really strikes the plates etc.
