If hes going to have to be a top 10 racer and not a mid 25. I know that has more to do with RPMS and not budda. He's a good driver, but they're really putting a lot on him. You're a very generous grader for some of these drivers. These are my grades (based on the overall season): Champion: Chase Elliott- A 2nd. Brad Keselowski- B+ 3rd. Joey Logano- B 4th. Denny Hamlin- A- 5th. Kevin Harvick- A (as close to an A+ as possible, need a championship for that) 6th. Alex Bowman- C 7th. Martin Truex Jr.- B- 8th. Kyle Busch- C+ 9th. Ryan Blaney- C 10th. Kurt Busch- C 11th. Austin Dillion- C- 12th. Clint Bowyer- C- 13th. Matt DiBenedetto- C- 14th. William Byron- C 15th. Aric Almirola- C 16th. Cole Custer- B- 17th. Eric Jones- D+ 18th. Jimmie Johnson- D 19th. Tyler Reddick- C 20th. Christopher Bell- C- 21st. Chris Buescher- C 22nd. Bubba Wallace- D+ 23rd. Michael McDowell- D+ 24th. Ricky Stenhouse- D+ 25th. Ryan Newman- D 26th. Ty Dillion- D 27th. John Hunter Nemechek- D 28th. Matt Kenseth- F+ 29th. Ryan Preece- D 30th. Corey Lajoie- D- 31st. Daniel Suarez- F 32nd. Brennan Poole- F+ 33rd. Quin Houff- F
Every time Almirola deserves a win he has the worst luck but then every few years he gets a win out of absolutely nowhere because of some insanely lucky help from nascar.
My favorite driver...won the cup. So saying anything but A+ is silly. Not to mention that he won 5 races, could have won many more, and was in contention constantly. Yup, a darn near perfect season for Chase. Love it!
Good take. Only think off on the 37 Preece because he usually ran ahead of faster cars, got wrecked and had equipment failures way too often, and lost positions on pit stops. So I see a crew chief and money issue. JTG focused on 47. Plus Stafford is close. Was actually surprised the Bell vs Jones was just as seen from this seat. However Bell does have tendency to self destruction. The 48 and 42, only unknown from this end is the issue aging eyes or all the new talent. My thought was eyesight. A 72 year old friend who actually got me into the sport and has more years owning, crew chief, and team member experience than anyone younger than 40 something says otherwise. Looking forward to the future !
Since he left out the GOAT I'll grade him for you guys. Timmy Hill: A+++++, probably the greatest season we've ever seen from a driver, really looked like Petty out there at times. Some races he lapped so many cars they just stopped scoring him, and this is all not including his Iracing season, just amazing...
Personally i woulda gave blaney a C he had great speed at the beginning of the season then after the corona break he kinda dropped off and got that lucky talladega win and wet the bed in the round of 16
Regression was inevitable for Newman. His cars were ranked 23rd on speed last year and his playoff berth was heavily based on manipulating pit stop timing to increase stage point totals.
Can you do a way to early 2021 playoff prediction? Here is mine: 1. Harvick 2. Kyle Busch 3. Keselowski 4. Elliott 5. Logano 6. Hamlin 7. Bowman 8. Larson 9. Byron 10. Almirola 11. Reddick 12. Bell 13. Blaney 14. Dibenedetto 15. Truex 16. Custer This is in no preticular order, just my top 16

Matt Kenneth needs higher than a D. The man was on his couch during Daytona had an 18 month vacation, and couldn’t practice. The dude still had a 2nd place finish to Kevin Harvick. I mean try going on vacation, then showing up to work late your 1st day back and still meeting productive goals by 5pm. B-

It had to be an A+ for all championship 4 + Harvick. They all had A+ seasons by being heavy contenders for the championship. Only A season would be Elliot, he was not a contender but managed to clutch it big at the end which makes him an A+ too.

Because also this was the first year MJ started to take a stand for the whole racial business. He's always been hush hush. Now I do think this is Bubba's opportunity. If hes going to have to be a top 10 racer and not a mid 25. I know that has more to do with RPMS and not budda. He's a good driver, but they're really putting a lot on him. I hope he shows out and finally takes that step, but I say pump the brakes. Don't put all the pressure on him. Let the team develop, and go from there. Chase won the championship, but it seems like Bubba won the season. IMO
Not with Wallace. Nice kek though
Have a good day Eric great video
Of course, I would get an A+ for my top 5 at Daytona
@John Q. (frowns in Dr. Pepper)
WTF, Darrell A? C at best. 22nd in driver points. How can you score 'Darrell ' higher than drivers in the playoffs?
Bubba is not in good equipment. He exceeded expectations but he is a B+ at best
Eric is rating based on a combination of on-track performance and off-track events/successes. Wallace, driving for a pretty mediocre team, had a great season for what RPM could’ve feasibly done, which would’ve given him around a B alone, but off-track events have helped bump his score.
He’s become a very recognizable name in the world outside of NASCAR and attracted a score of new sponsors. He leveraged all of that into what looks to be a very competitive ride with 23XI.
You're a very generous grader for some of these drivers. These are my grades (based on the overall season):
Champion: Chase Elliott- A
2nd. Brad Keselowski- B+
3rd. Joey Logano- B
4th. Denny Hamlin- A-
5th. Kevin Harvick- A (as close to an A+ as possible, need a championship for that)
6th. Alex Bowman- C
7th. Martin Truex Jr.- B-
8th. Kyle Busch- C+
9th. Ryan Blaney- C
10th. Kurt Busch- C
11th. Austin Dillion- C-
12th. Clint Bowyer- C-
13th. Matt DiBenedetto- C-
14th. William Byron- C
15th. Aric Almirola- C
16th. Cole Custer- B-
17th. Eric Jones- D+
18th. Jimmie Johnson- D
19th. Tyler Reddick- C
20th. Christopher Bell- C-
21st. Chris Buescher- C
22nd. Bubba Wallace- D+
23rd. Michael McDowell- D+
24th. Ricky Stenhouse- D+
25th. Ryan Newman- D
26th. Ty Dillion- D
27th. John Hunter Nemechek- D
28th. Matt Kenseth- F+
29th. Ryan Preece- D
30th. Corey Lajoie- D-
31st. Daniel Suarez- F
32nd. Brennan Poole- F+
33rd. Quin Houff- F
My favorite yearly video. Scared for Kenseth after what you posted on Twitter 😳
Was waiting for this
Every time Almirola deserves a win he has the worst luck but then every few years he gets a win out of absolutely nowhere because of some insanely lucky help from nascar.
Been waiting for this vid since March
DiBenedetto to the 10 in 2022. Eric please give this a heart so everyone sees it.
That’s be epic
My favorite driver...won the cup. So saying anything but A+ is silly. Not to mention that he won 5 races, could have won many more, and was in contention constantly. Yup, a darn near perfect season for Chase. Love it!
Where did you get the information about Blaney's contract? Everything I have seen never assigned the year it ends, almost like a lifetime deal-vibe.
Harvick was a case of started year great but due to losing focus failed final exams.
Dang I always want this vid and its finally here
Out of my 3 favorite drivers my grades
Almirola: B+
Blaney: C
Elliott:........
A+. Oh snap Eric agrees pretty much, little generous on Blaney.
Bubba... I will cheer every time he crashes. I'm surprised his 2021 sponsor isn't American Waste.
I look forward to these videos.
Alex Bowman would like to have a word after class about his grade.
Personally i woulda gave blaney a C he had great speed at the beginning of the season then after the corona break he kinda dropped off and got that lucky talladega win and wet the bed in the round of 16
I give Ryan Blaney a B+ he had a real good season and had the best cars at Penske for most of the year.
Regression was inevitable for Newman. His cars were ranked 23rd on speed last year and his playoff berth was heavily based on manipulating pit stop timing to increase stage point totals.
I definitely need to make a video just like this. I’ll probably do mine tomorrow.
I made it
Can you do a way to early 2021 playoff prediction? Here is mine:
1. Harvick
2. Kyle Busch
3. Keselowski
4. Elliott
5. Logano
6. Hamlin
7. Bowman
8. Larson
9. Byron
10. Almirola
11. Reddick
12. Bell
13. Blaney
14. Dibenedetto
15. Truex
16. Custer
This is in no preticular order, just my top 16
You really forgot Timmy Hill and his Iracing championship?
*Eric gives Matt Kenseth a D instead of an F*
Matt Kenseth: At least you did not get your favorite driver and F
Jimmie ran so well a few times and always ran into something. Charlotte, Darlington, talladega
He caught some of the the worst luck this year. Especially the Darlington race. He was so dominate the whole race until he got into the wall.
Dont forget the first Martinsville where they missed the adjustments for stage 3 and fell to 10th after winning previous stage
Hey Eric can we get a room tour?
Chase deserves the A+. Bubba an A? Seriously?
Hey Eric. Don't know if you read this stuff or not. But what's up on you keeping us posted on the Charlotte test next week? Maybe some video of the roval testing? Aight den. 🤘
Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin both get an A as their 2020 NASCAR grade because 1 has 9 2020 wins and 1 has 7 2020 wins
Why does time pass so fast I remember when u did it in 2018
Alex Bowman is racing in Cleetus Mcfarland's 2.3 hours of Lemollets! And Larry Mcreynolds is Calling the Race!
12:29 best part of the show
Bubba should get an R for race card.
I mean Matty D finished off the season really well after he was eliminated he looked way better and had some amazing races
Erik you should go to a road course race next year
I enjoy you posts Eric. Agree or don't contest most grades you gave but Ryan Newman??? He should get an A+ just for getting back in a race car this year after what he went through at Daytona!
I am very proud Austin Dillon got an A. In my opinion, Austin looked very clean this season. That win at Texas inspired me. I felt like Dillon was going to do well in the playoffs. And look at that! Austin qualified for the round of 12! Great acomplishment!
actually, an A-
When I saw the thumbnail I was bout to go crazy 😂
I watched all videos since 2018 preseason predictions and went back and watched stop motions
Wallace an A??? Higher than Brad, and Joey come on!!! Really.
He deserves about what Michael McDowell grade is.
Bubba Wallace: exhibit A as to why the “race card” is pulled so often. Got rewarded for doing nothing positive. Harrison Burton or Erik Jones were better options than he was.
@History Buff The fan base isn’t racist. The fan base is just dopey and ignored what the Confederate Flag really stood for. You think the fan base is in favor of slavery and treason? Of course not! The south just flies that flag to pretend to be rebellious and badass. The only people that fly the Confederate Flag are punk adolescents that drive 20 year old Silverados with sketchy lift kits. They don’t know anything about the Confederate Flag other than it’s what you fly on the back of a junky pickup just to be “badass.”
i love these episodes
So once again late to the party 🤪 but I wish you had put up a graphic of what each driver scored. There were too many to remember. I will comment on three though. Of course my guy Chase Elliott gets an A+. Also considering everything that was placed on Bubba's shoulders and his performance in an underfunded team I'll agree on that one too. Then finally there's #MyManMatt (Kenseth). Heartbreaking 😭 is the only way to describe it. I too had really high expectations for him. I so wanted him and Jimmie to win my heart just broke 💔.
I give Ryan Newman an A-Plus for walking out of the hospital and getting a few top 10s and he and Ryan precce and Ricky stenhouse and Kevin harvick are my favorite drivers
In my opinion giving Preece an F is pretty harsh considering he had a lot of mechanical failures and getting caught up in wrecks.
It had to be an A+ for all championship 4 + Harvick. They all had A+ seasons by being heavy contenders for the championship. Only A season would be Elliot, he was not a contender but managed to clutch it big at the end which makes him an A+ too.
My way too early 2021 playoff predictions
1. Kevin Harvick - 5 wins
2. Chase Elliott - 5 wins
3. Denny Hamlin - 3 wins
4. Joey Logano- 2 wins
5. Ryan Blaney - 2 wins
6. Brad Keslowski - 2 wins
7. Kyle Busch - 1 win
8. Martin Truex - 1 win
9. Aric Almirola - 1 win
10. Alex Bowman - 1 win
11. Michael McDowell 1 win
12. Erik Jones 1 win
13. Tyler Reddick 1 win
14. Bubba Wallace PTS
15. William Byron PTS
16. Kyle Larson PTS
-----------------
17. Matty D
18. Cole Custer
19. Chris Buscher
20. Chase Briscoe
I don't know id DiBenedetto would make the playoffs again but he'll definitely be top 20 in points at least
He picked the best picture for Kevin Harvick 😂😂
Kurt Busch is always so consistent. 1 win a year gets to the round of 8 except last year.
Christopher bell gets a C Because he was constantly crashing unnecessarily
No Eric forgot the best guy in the cup series😭😭😭
Timmy Hill gets an A+ just for getting the iracing win
Ryan Preece’s 3 Last Place Finishes Actually Came At Indy, Kentucky, And Texas
I would wreck out if I had to race at Kentucky too
@@krspy8849 I think he had a mechanical issue
So happy that chase Elliot won the championship and so sad for Kyle Busch that he got a C- and so mad that Brad kesalowski got a A-.
A- for Kurt is accurate. I think he will improve again next year!
