This song hits different and its absolutely beautiful. My oldest daughter watched me deal with yrs of DV at the hands of her dad. We moved back in with my mom who was always there for my daughter and helped raise her. My mom ended up passing from dementia last year before she was able to see my daughter graduate. She also wont see my daughter live out her dream and play college softball. Something she has worked so hard for. This song hits different for many reasons and since I am someone who has a hard time with saying how I feel I will be sending this song to those who need to hear it. As a daughter who was the recipient of the first of my letters on my college graduation, please write them! It meant the absolute world to me and I really needed to hear my dad’s voice that day. Write them as she was getting married tomorrow or having her first child, etc etc. Not at all giving up! Just because you write them doesn’t mean she ever has to read them!
@JAYALLENOFFICIAL I am a Widow, it's been almost 10 years and I lost my Dad February 2023, so this month is hard on me because of Father’s Day & my husband's Birthday is Friday the 28th. My husband had been ill for a few years before he passed while waiting for a heart and lung transplant, but my Dad passed unexpectedly. He was 82 years old and was in the process of building a new house for him and my Mom. They were high school sweethearts married 63 years and they had 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. So the two most amazing men in my life are in Heaven and are greatly missed by us all. Our family has fallen apart since my Dad passed away, which is so sad. He was the Patriarch of Our Family.
