I'll admit that I scoffed at the whole "decanting" thing, but holy smokes, I did it in our bathroom with flossers, orthodontic flossers, and toothpick brushes. Every time I open that drawer, it makes me happy, and I LOVE it! I'm a total convert! I don't know why dumping things out of their bags and into cheap white containers makes such a difference, but (as dumb as it sounds) it's my favorite drawer in the house! I also have 3 skinny rectangular bins for our hair brushes/combs, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. Loooove it!!
I have been using command hooks for chords for a long time. I use the ones made for Christmas lights. It also helps to not lose the chord or the end of the chord. For example if you have a laptop and sometimes unplug it to go work elsewhere but leave the chord. It will be there when you come back and not lost and tangled. Papers is my struggle. Great tips.
That is exactly how I use them at my desk too! I unplug my computers at the end of the day and clip them in the command hook so the cord doesn’t slide behind the desk! Great minds think alike 💗
We went from a 2000 square foot home to a 1400 square foot townhome and we definitely had to downsize and declutter a lot! I am a Virgo so I’m very neat and tidy and I want everything in its place. I definitely hate seeing cords too! Thank God my husband is a Virgo like me so we complement each other and can do most handy work, decorating, house repairs etc. Since I have a two story now and have three bathrooms which I clean everyday, I do keep cleaning supplies in each bathroom which isn’t a big deal since there’s enough room in the underneath cabinets. I do love your pantry though. Maybe one day I’ll decant my food products and spices because it does look visually pleasing and I do love order! Thanks for sharing as always! You do such a thorough and awesome job👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I like your tips.🤗 I love having a clear countertop so I am working on keeping just the minimal what we need with a really minimal decor.❤ Actually I love the practical decorations more, like a nice jar what you can use for storing and decorating in the same time. I never was keen for organizing my things in rainbow order before, but now you just made me think of it.🙈 I like to use storage bins in storage bins for sub-categorizing our stuffs.😊 I really have to work on my labeling, I love labels I just never get the time to get it done.🙈Hiding cords it's such a nightmare but I agree it's definitely worth the job. We are struggling a lot with paper piles and I know it's because they don't have a designated space. I believe that everything what enters in your home has to have a space so it won't turn into clutter.😊
100% on the practical decor!! Everything in organizing is totally a process! I love that last statement that everything that enters your home has to have a space. I like to live by that one too! 💗
This was for me. I’m going to look at it again so I can take notes. Today, this Sunday, I’m going to focus on my kitchen counters, nothing else. It gets too overwhelming for me when I look at the whole room. This will be my start to decluttering. I’m also going to take a picture before I get started. Thanks again.
Thank you for this. Great tips. I especially agree about having clean & tidy kitchen worktops. I can’t relax when my worktops are untidy & they make me feel depressed. I have pink & yellow carpets in my lounge & dining room & I find that I have to hoover them nearly every day. This seems to make the rooms look more tidy.
Organizing books by colour seems to get hate online but I am so glad I did it. I live in a one room apartment, own a lot of books & the bookshelf is on the TV wall. The reduction of visual clutter is huge!
What do you do with your Small appliance instruction books and the warranty information that one receives with the Small appliances and where and how do you organize cookbooks?
I try to get rid of what I can and look up things online if I forget, for warranty info I keep it in my office filed away with my papers in a separate section. Cookbooks I keep on the bookshelf near my kitchen and it acts as functional decor! The majority of the recipes I make on a frequent basis I store in a recipe binder in my kitchen.
Unsure if your house "looks" disorganized? Start at the door and take a photograph. Go room by room doing this at each door, bonus points for closet doors. After you have taken all your pics sit in your most comfortable space with a beverage and look at the pics as you would a magazine article written about someone else's home. Make notes of your reaction and solutions that could tidy up the space. Overwhelmed and don't know where to start? Begin with the entrance then the kitchen then bathroom---you'll have a plan of attack and you will likely get 75% of the area tidied up. Look around your most comfortable space and note what makes it seem comfortable. Incorporate that into each room. For me, I like clean, bare floors. So just having clean empty floorspace can be very calming and reduce the sense overwhelm. Then I can do the "next" thing (like clear the horizontal surfaces). Hope this helps!
I have a two car garage. I had epoxy flooring done to the floor. I say organize your garage is important. No clutter and wash your garage floor monthly. That is the first place you see when you come home. That's if you have one. Next is a well maintain yard with trim shrubs and a well maintain lawn. People forget those areas of owning a home. People should not own homes and live in a condo or an apartment is they don't want to take care of there property.
This is seldom mentioned, and so true. You can actually tell much about a person's mental state by how their landscaping and property looks. It has been true everywhere I have lived.
Hi Sophie, I have lots and lots of pics, I have three big bins overflowing, I have them in albums and some still in their packets from when they were developed way back when. What would be the best way to organize them? Thank you, love your videos.
I would love to do a photo organizing video at some point! the plastic photo organizers that I use for other projects are a great solution and you can categorize and label each grouping.
Thank you for helping me get organized! I love the organized look and function but have had a hard time my entire life actually implementing it in my life. I am finally making progress thanks to your videos! Thank you so very much! May GOD Bless you and your marriage! 🕊️
Alot of the organization containers are expensive and what about the instructions on the package, what is one to do without the instructions on a container on the particular storage container
You have said you live in an apartment, what about someone who lives in a house, I have some areas where I do have organized areas, but still feel overwhelmed
I’m a decor hater 🤣 idk why but I’ve never been interested in decor. I’d like to buy a few little pieces or maybe even print out my wedding photos but right now my apartment has zero decor lol
Limited decor is a great tip. My best friend doesn't have a single clear surface or empty wall in her house and just the thought of dusting all that stuff exhausts me! If I had all that in my home it would look dirty because I would never dust it all.

Right!?! Crazy what a difference it makes in how much you enjoy your space!
I want to see your cords, please do a video on it hehe. I have the worst time organizing my cords. These are great tips, thanks Sophie!
I'm totally adding that to my list of videos!

That is wonderful you complement each other so well! I may need to keep some cleaning supplies on each floor with our new home too!
Containment within containment...so true and such a good point!!!👍
Yes!!! 💯
Thanks Sophie

Such great tips! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks so much for watching!! ☺️
I like the way you put the perfumes on one tray and said it will seem like one thing to your eyes. I'm doing that now.
Great tips! 💕
Thank you 💗
Great tips , thanks. I’d like to see how you organize cords and charging cables.
You got it! I am working on planning out that video!
Like ideas look so nice together, like your glass s. Really good viedo

That is perfect! One area at a time!!
What a great video! I’d say more, but I’ve got to go implement those tips! Thanks!
Hahah love that! Thanks so much for watching ☺️
Great points made in this video! Thanks
Thank you!! 💗
I di have my main cleaning items in my laundry room, I did organize separate cleaning supplies for each bathroom in those outdoor utensil caddies
That is awesome!
Could you do a video on easy chord management ? :)
Yes!! Definitely adding that to the plans!
Thank you for this.
Great tips.

Great video! Thanks
Glad you liked it!

It's totally not for everyone but in some cases I think it really works!
Love all the helpful info, but would really like to see more of how you're doing them all.....like keeping the cords tidy....
Thank you! Filming a cord organization video coming up soon!
Oh I’m the first one to see and like this video!! Love you Sophie!
Yay!!! Thanks so much for being here FIRST!! 🥇
For #8 Limited Decor, apply the Rule of three's!!! Very informative and good Vid Sophie(:
Yes!!! Exactly!
Fantastic tips!
So glad you enjoyed!
Yes that is the small table and chairs in front of the kitchen sink,it is just a Bad drop zone area
Flat surfaces, especially by the door are the worst!

So true about the garage and yard, often overlooked but so visible and very important spaces!

@@SophisticatedOrganization They absolutely are!
Thank you ❤🕊
💕💕💕
Thanks for watching!
Yes, I have limited counter space.
Less to clean!
Alot of the organization containers are expensive and what about the instructions on the package, what is one to do without the instructions on a container on the particular storage container
Yes a lot can be expensive! I don't typically find instructions are needed for any organizing containers!
You have said you live in an apartment, what about someone who lives in a house, I have some areas where I do have organized areas, but still feel overwhelmed
It is the same thing! Just take it slowly at your time since you have a lot more space most likely!
Organizing my books by color is not organizing at all.
Definitely not something for everyone!!
My essential oils are in a specific drawer in my living room
That sounds great!
I’m a decor hater 🤣 idk why but I’ve never been interested in decor. I’d like to buy a few little pieces or maybe even print out my wedding photos but right now my apartment has zero decor lol
That’s not necessarily a bad thing! I think that keeps things super minimal and organized looking!!
Just curious, what does idk mean?

Oh gosh, agreed. That sounds like way too much dusting for me!
