Victoria will always remain my favorite Spice. I think the "Posh" persona puts people off initially but she has a wicked sense of humor and isn't afraid to poke fun at herself. 💜
“They’re very likeable”. That’s one of the main reasons that made them so big. Apart from being one of the biggest screamers of girl power in the 90’s. They were always being themselves, never said they were the most talented, beautiful or skilled girls in the planet, but pushed what they had as far as they could, proving that real people could do it. Love my girls and loved your watching your reactions 🧡
I will not tolerate the Posh hate 😂 she is iconic and the funniest spice girl. If you read Mel C’s book, Victoria was always the first one to advocate for the girls to move forward without men controlling them. She was a passionate spice girl.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Victoria is actually a really nice, genuine, down to earth person in real life. She definitely plays up to the persona that the media gave her. But thanks for the trip down memory lane. X
So true about Victoria! Actually from what I’ve heard all the girls are very down to earth and super nice in real life. Just another reason to love them! Lol
My friend dropped a tray of food near her table in bluewater a few years ago and she complained to the manager and was nasty. That’s the only real life thing I can say about her, what I’ve seen on telly etc she’s funny.
“I’m not that desperate thank you!” “And really cheap green coats” “We’ll I had a head…but there was no makeup on it” 😂😂 endless quotes and she’s not even my favorite spice girl.
You need to watch One Hour of Girl Power which is basically them reacting to behind the scenes videos of their rise to fame from 96/97. Also a documentary called Raw Spice which has rare footage of them when they were put together and lived together, before they did a runner from their first management. Both give a real insight into their personalities.
I watched this in the theater back in the day, and it was SO FUN! I’m in my 30s now, and I still watch it on occasion. Just randomly. Because Spice Girls for life 😁 I got my daughter into them too lol
Critics might hate it but the only film that beat it in ticket sales that year was Titanic! 😁 I remember queuing up at the cinema as a little kid and not getting in as it had sold out. Fun throw back!
Yay! You watched it! 👊 Happy you enjoyed the film. Love the Spice Girls! Team Sporty but love 'em all. Victoria is probably the most misunderstood Spice Girl. She was my least favorite too when I was a kid 'cause she seems stuck up and snobby. But I can appreciate her now, turns out her "smiling is a crime" persona is just for show. She's actually down to earth and funny in real life. Couldn't stop smiling with her funny Spice Girls references in her British Vogue feature. She made fun of herself the whole interview. She got a weird sense of humour. 😂 Thanks for reacting to the movie, Sal. Welcome to Spice World! :)
I remember queueing around the block, on 30 dec 1997 it was crazy. And I remember everyone singing ‘spice up your life’ and putting their hands up when Mel b sings colours of the world. I’ve never experienced that at cinema before or since. England was all about spice girls in 1997
Aaw, I have such a soft spot for Spice Girls. Especially Geri, freaking loved her!! #GirlPower #BossBitch this made me think about Burlesque though, I know you've seen it since you're Cher stan, however, could you do a reaction video for watching it? Would love to see your thoughts on Christina's acting etc.
The smile on your face says it all! I saw this at the cinema the night it was released, and went back to see it first showing next morning. If you don't trust Victoria, watch her show 'Coming to America' you will totally get her, she is hysterical and rocks her blonde hair-do (sorry I'm Australian)
I loved this!!! Spice World is one of my favorite movies cause I remember renting it over and over (along with Crossroads) as a child and I bought the DVD close to 10 years ago just to relive those memories! I was born in 98 so I missed their absolute peak but my sister and I had a couple of their dolls and items, and the Spice album was one of the first albums that I actually cherished and got into. I also LOVE Victoria so much, I wish their recent reunion tour had came to the US 😭
Thats actually a very accurate movie critic... thank you!! Please have a look to the newest Melanie C singles: 1. Who I Am 2. Blame It One Me 3. In And Out Of Love and tomorrow there will be a new one 4. Fearless feat. Nadia Rose // THANK YOU
Essay alert!!.... I've just watched your reviews of their three albums and now this today, and I love that you get it. These girls had a stigma attached to them where they 'shouldn't' be taken seriously, but you hit the nail on the head - It all felt honest. Although initially manufactured through the audition route, I think having these girls live together before they embarked onto the music scene was a genius move by their first management because that connection was blatantly genuine. And that 'group of friends' mentality (where they have their own sayings, jokes, impressions etc) is what made them relatable. They weren't trying to be polished, they were all doing their own thing and embracing each others' differences (and I think this is where they lost the connection with some fans with Forever, as that is a very slick, almost uniform album... besides the obvious that they weren't as invested in that era - I think they felt it too). I get a bit of slack, even to this day sadly, about being a Spice Girls fan, because they weren't deemed 'cool' or whatever, but their success is undeniable. Every single went to #1 here in the UK with the exception of Stop (#2) which was released against a monster hit that year and Headlines (#11) which was stupidly released a week AFTER their Greatest Hits came out. Not to mention they are officially the biggest selling girl band of all time. So irrespective of the personal connection I felt with them, those facts are a handy backup. All in all, I have to say, it was lovely to see you 'get it'. It really took me back to how I was (....jesus...) 24 years ago :| So yeah, thank you :)
Wow, you know so many songs and lyrics already! Speaking as a Spice fan since 1996, I'm super impressed! Loving this video! PS: Shame that you don't "trust" Victoria, haha, she's actually a really funny person and has many great funny moments in this movie. I still love that you enjoyed this movie for what it is. ♥
I absolutely will always adore Spice Girls for making their own spoof movie. its just a shame critics and most adults didn't get that it was suppose to not be taken seriously, it was a comedy...but us fans got what they were going for and I loved it as a kid, watching the crap out of my VHS copy with my Spice Girls dolls, all the way to now.
Late to this, but I was 10 when this movie came out. It was absolutely phenomenal for me. I had all their albums, all the singles my local record store had, and as much merch as I could convince my parents to buy for me. 10 year old superfan had the best experience in a theater of her little life, I thought it was absolutely genius. 35 now and I still think it is genius.
Sal, you are giving me hope. You described exactly what I think about girl bands nowadays. Voices doesn't sound human anymore, that's exactly my point. You know I like music history. I love Ragtime, Blues, Dixie & Jazz, I love Motown sound, soul, funky, R&B. Music has a special sound decade by decade like when the flanger effect appeared in the 70's & when disco orchestrations were superb!!, I like synths in the 80's, but yes, nowdays everything sounds just the same. FAKE. MEL C, MEL B & EMMA...definitely are amazing!!! I may say my love for Ginger has grown, she was the leader, she imagined their story, even the movie and traced the plan... without her we could have had no Spice Girls at all. Victoria...First I didn't like her neither. But I think she was a main factor to accomplished FOREVER. When Geri left the band Victoria assumed a very clever strategy she is behind a lot of management & business perspective. She was as brave & ambitious as Geri & she did a great job specially then. The Earl's Court concert was very good thanks to her. She was brave, she was the weakest member in the Spice Girls in my opinion. She could turned her back away but she didn't. I respect a lot the effort she put & the energy when everything could fall apart.
I saw this movie the friday it opened. I loved all the Cameos. I too did not like Victoria until i saw this movie. She has a very dry since of humor which i love. Geri has been my favorite since day one.
My fave movie 😁 Loved watching a new fan reacting 🕺🏻 ...watched all your spice girls videos...very good commentary... you really should review solo spice girls albums 🙃
Well, I was to little to go to the cinema on my own (7 years). I saw it for the first time on TV which could have been around 2000 and it was fun! I invited my friends to watch it with me (friends with whom I used to play "Spice Girls", we pretended we gave interviews, performed etc. We tried to dress like them. Even we pretended that Mel C came over to Emma for a tea/coffee etc. So in such a company I watched the movie 😉
Wonderful review. Nice to see how you saw the honest and true friendship between the girls. The film is silly but like you said if you go into this film knowing what it is going to be like then you will be ok.
Saw this in cinema when I was 10 with my mum. Was beyond excited. I own all the limited editiom tins which featured each girl and wrapped in a neon VHS cassette tape.
Well, since you asked... The experience seeing SpiceWorld in the movies was fun! Lemme touch on a couple of things... Younger audiences may not have caught this but the older gent with the animals, that's Roger Moore. He played James Bond back inna day. A Bond villain or two would be stroking a cat. So, they had him in there acting kind of like a Bond villain but with a different animal each time we see him. I loved it. Speaking of older audiences, I did then and still do Love me some Spice Girls. I still play their music, watch this movie and wear my SG shirt. I'm a couple of years older than the oldest Spice, Geri/Ginger Spice. The scene with the aliens... The one who'd asked for the autograph said it was for his brother or sum like that, yeah, there were a lot of older Spice fans who, unlike me who didn't GAF, kept their love of Spice undercover. Back to the theater experience, it was packed full of kids with their parents, lovely adult LGBTQ members and my Black @$$ who'd dragged my then-husband to see it. At the end of the movie where Victoria compliments an audience member on their dress, the little girl in front of me got so excited as she believed Victoria was talking about her. Speaking of Victoria, I never cared for her until seeing this movie. To me, she was HILARIOUS!! I thought she'd go on to be a Bond girl and act in more movies. Anywho, all's well that ends well!
Lol you know youre a hardcore fan when you know all the lines of the movie even if its been years ago since I watched it xD I understand the clipping due to the length and stuff with the videos but I kind of was aaw but thats one of the best part xD especially with Victoria coming out wearing the mini skirt where the other girls wore the army suits xD. But Im glad you liked it xD Definitely not the best movie, but I think all the flaws and imperfections and whatnot is what makes this movie a good one and great fun to watch xD Also like you say with it being honest and real is what I like about it. Some things like the Alien parts are still questionable to me this day today, but it was fun to see a mix of realism and non-realism in it xD
@@SalRocha Haha Dont get me wrong. I loved it too a lot, but looking back at it I still find it a little odd xD but its those little things that makes it great on its own!
You may not recognize but the idea of the intro on this movie was inspired on the intros from the James Bond movies, probably because the bad guy in this movie is Roger Moore one of the most iconic James Bond that was after Sean Connery
You should really get the book Sporty One by Mel C. It will explain a lot of what was happening during the Spice Girls. You will also want to read both of Mel B’s books and Victoria’s book. You will learn a lot about the girls from the girls
Very much enjoyed your reaction and thoughts! You should keep diving into their material!? I know we’ve done all their albums but they have many music videos and solo material you could/would enjoy. Oh and regards to favorite mine would be Baby and sporty!
You were so funny to watch, watching this.. Sometimes I think for a few split seconds, you forgot you were doing a reaction. As you looked very engrossed. Love this filming your roots!
@@SalRocha Ok thank you for letting me know. I think I found the original version. Do you recommend the original? (Also, thank you for helping me find it! As a HUGE spice girls fan, it means a lot)
Watching this took me back to my childhood. Spiceworld the movie is like a mini time capsule of my life as a 9-10 year old. Definitely check out their most iconic performance at the Brit awards in 1997 when Geri wore the infamous Union Jack dress. That was peak Spice Girls era.
omg in the aliens scene i just remembered there was a sticker album of this movie and i had it an their picture was 2 of them combines omfg haahhaahahah its so nice seeing an adult enjoying this movie like i did when i was like 11 hahahaahahha also when you said, "oh he is the guy from the movie, the vampire" i was like, funny, to me he has always been the guy from the spice girls movie haahahha
Your Spice Girls reviews/ videos are so much fun. You should really think about reacting to some of their music videos because A you will see who sings what and B They are part of the whole experience and artistry. I'd say start with Say You Will Be There because that's their best video and they have never looked hotter. Geri's hair is insane in that video.
After the credits they performed “Mama”. I haven’t seen this movie in years, this was a nice revisit! The movie wasn’t great, but I enjoyed it because just seeing the girls made me happy 😃
The song they perform in the Milan scene, is not a B side, it’s a cover of “Leader of the gang” by Gary Glitter. He actually appears on the original scene next to the girls, the thing is, a month before the release of the movie, child pornography was found on his computer, causing a huge backlash from the media to him, so they cut his appearance and left an edited performance of the song.
I love the spice girls! I discovered that they did a tour last year and I've been listening to their music nonstop. I hope they can do the international tour as soon as the pandemic is over🤩
The group released 3 Studio albums 1 EP and 1 greatest hits record , a hand full of VHS tapes and a hand full of documentary, also 3 recorded concerts on tv and released
someone called Spice mania, was the only time Kardashian fame happened I. Music, where the media followed them. It's expensive, cos it's out of print in the US, I think Sony pictures lost the license , Because they didn't own the rights, just a us distribution since polygram wasn't here in the US.
@@SalRocha You might also enjoy reacting to all their Solo albums. There are currently 17 in total due to be 18 as Mel C is releasing her 8th Studio Album next month.
Sup Sal? The first time saw this flick was at my Grandma's basement/sewing room via scrambled cable (PPV). Thank God mom got me the VHS for my 14th bday. FYI, I was a fan of Spice Girls since Fall of 96. I remember wanting to kick Clifford's ass at the climax, not to mention battle McMaxford n the forces of the DAILY EVENT. Another FYI, who didn't wanted to drive the Spicebus to R.A.H. like a BAT OUTTA HELL (Meat Loaf reference, since he's in this movie)? Personally, I've always envisioned pairing the Girls with another crew of superheroes (Power Rangers, F4, Guardians Of The Galaxy). At the end, I had them paired with JAY & SILENT BOB. B4 u horribly object, hear me out, it could work. Around that time, J&SB were between CHASING AMY and DOGMA at that time. They could end up in England due to a radio contest via SB being an uber SpiceFan n crushes over Posh (to the annoyance of Jay). Then, the Chief picks em up n tasks em into protecting the Girls, much to the dismay of Clifford. During the movie, Jay rags on Clifford on the impression that he's gay (NO HOMO), due to his wardrobe and his disaffections towards Deborah. Also, it's up to SB to save the day, after receiving a vision from God (Alanis Morrisette) and a golden bracelet (to replace the Alien encounter). At the mansion at Dance Camp, SB goes thru a vision quest via the TOO MUCH video. After helping a Spice Girl, he receives a Spice Gem (yes, I'm referencing the Infinity Gauntlet, but just roll with me), but got woken up in the Posh level. He later scores the Posh Gem n a kiss, after saving her n the competition winners from, wait for it, crocodiles (ur welcome, Graydon). Even after Clifford fires the heroes, they stayed to see them get to the show (after clubbing, delivering Nicola's baby, n kicking Damien's ass). SB drives the girls to Albert Hall, while his variants from his vision quest hold the fort against DAILY EVENT ninjas. In the end, J&SB save the day, as well as the world, in the name of GIRL POWER. SNOOGANS. Watch ya think? BTW, a few facts for ya, Scary n Posh were prego in spring 98.
Ginger had a very successful brief ish solo career after the Spice Girls ( 2 albums ) but Melanie C was the only one to not only had the most critically acclaimed solo singles of them all but also the only one to never had a career break, I think she already released something like 7 or 8 albums ever since, the last one was in 2020 and is so good to listen, she writes all her songs too, but she received a lot of flack back in those days as the "ugly" spice girl, Ginger was the fat one ( what caused her anorexia ) The media here was absolutely awful with those celebrities, have changed much as we had a tv presenter( Caroline Flack ) here that was so bullied online that she killed herself 2 years ago, she was so young and beautiful
Nicola did not have a friendship with the individual girls. Her friendship was with the Spice Girls and only the Spice Girls, it's as if the Spice Girls were the same, single living force in the movie.
When i was 7 years old Spice Girls had The world in their bands..i remember even my small city in Brazil with many dolls of them..their songs playing everywhere and The lollipops (Very delicious) pure domination🥰 girls in my School had The Geri hair with The ginger and The blond mixed BUT ALL the girls wanted to be Emma dat time...my fav was Geri 🔥 when you are a kid you kind of dont care whos singin better or dancin..you see The image and The vídeos.and dat time Emma and Geri had my eyes and my heart 🤗😇 but i love them ALL 😊
Well on Elton John I have nothing negative to say lol,i personally like his music since my childhood. Not too focused on what he said against Madoanna lol, celebs do those criticism stuffs so not taking it too personally 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Lol you know youre a hardcore fan when you know all the lines of the movie even if its been years ago since I watched it xD
I understand the clipping due to the length and stuff with the videos but I kind of was aaw but thats one of the best part xD especially with Victoria coming out wearing the mini skirt where the other girls wore the army suits xD.
The alien part is my favorite!
COOL!
I love all of them, but Victoria had the best moments in the movie.
LOL
I remember watching the with my cousin at the movies, lol
How fun!
You should really get the book Sporty One by Mel C. It will explain a lot of what was happening during the Spice Girls. You will also want to read both of Mel B’s books and Victoria’s book. You will learn a lot about the girls from the girls
I didn’t trust Victoria either!!! She really seemed stuck up and rubbed me the wrong way.
Very much enjoyed your reaction and thoughts! You should keep diving into their material!? I know we’ve done all their albums but they have many music videos and solo material you could/would enjoy. Oh and regards to favorite mine would be Baby and sporty!
Thank you! I'm not sure I'll be able to view all of their albums soon. However, I will react to Melanie C's new album that comes out in October!
Sal I get that. That a lot of material. I’ll definitely be tuning into your reaction to Melanie C’s new album! Can’t wait!
90s was our 70s, as a kid, I had no idea. I lived through the 70s.
:)
Hi pal sal! Vicki needs another album. Haha "Victoria" I don't trust her. She's really quiet/humorous behind the scenes. :)
Thank you so much for watching!
You were so funny to watch, watching this.. Sometimes I think for a few split seconds, you forgot you were doing a reaction. As you looked very engrossed. Love this filming your roots!
Glad you enjoyed
Where did you get the movie!?!!
I’m dying to watch it but can’t find it
I got a DVD copy from the library!
@@SalRocha THANK YOU!!!
I found the disc on Amazon and holy crap! It’s like 36 dollars.
@@SalRocha also. Your reaction to the movie is hilarious and it makes me laugh
@@adisynnefransen1066 I know!!! It’s crazy! There’s 2 editions of the DVD. The original full screen release and the 2007 widescreen release!
@@SalRocha
Ok thank you for letting me know. I think I found the original version. Do you recommend the original?
(Also, thank you for helping me find it! As a HUGE spice girls fan, it means a lot)
I feel the same about Victoria. Didn’t miss her half as much as four than I did Geri.
This movie brings so many memories from my childhood. Glad you liked it ✌🏻
Classic
Watching this took me back to my childhood. Spiceworld the movie is like a mini time capsule of my life as a 9-10 year old. Definitely check out their most iconic performance at the Brit awards in 1997 when Geri wore the infamous Union Jack dress. That was peak Spice Girls era.
Thank you so much for watching!!!!!

its so nice seeing an adult enjoying this movie like i did when i was like 11 hahahaahahha
also when you said, "oh he is the guy from the movie, the vampire" i was like, funny, to me he has always been the guy from the spice girls movie haahahha
Thank you so much for watching!
I also like Emma's solo work the best. Her second album Free Me is SO good.
Thank you so much for watching!
Yeah
Your Spice Girls reviews/ videos are so much fun.
You should really think about reacting to some of their music videos because A you will see who sings what and B They are part of the whole experience and artistry.
I'd say start with Say You Will Be There because that's their best video and they have never looked hotter. Geri's hair is insane in that video.
Thanks for sharing!
this movie is the rocky horror of the 90s... you even got meatloaf 😂❤
Victorias dry sense of humor in this movie is top notch.
lol
After the credits they performed “Mama”. I haven’t seen this movie in years, this was a nice revisit! The movie wasn’t great, but I enjoyed it because just seeing the girls made me happy 😃
It's so good!
Thank you so much for watching!
"HOLD ON TO YOUR KNICKERS GIRLS!"
Roger Moore who played James Bond is in the movie as the groups president at the label
Cool
I love the spice girls! I discovered that they did a tour last year and I've been listening to their music nonstop. I hope they can do the international tour as soon as the pandemic is over🤩
Me too!
Me too
Omg yessssss ❤️
Thank you so much for watching!
Where did you find this movie. I can't find it at all
Spice G. were unique. They were raw, real and outspoken. No other girl group can compete
Thank you so much for watching!
Yeah
The group released 3 Studio albums 1 EP and 1 greatest hits record , a hand full of VHS tapes and a hand full of documentary, also 3 recorded concerts on tv and released
Thank you so much for watching!
I love this movie! The best were Victoria, Mel C and Emma!!!
Thank you so much for watching!
In Italy they perform a cover of Gary Glitter's "Leader of the Gang"
:)
Doug Walker aka the #NostalgiaCritic has to review this movie period.
Lindsay Ellis (The Superior Reviewer) did it!
someone called Spice mania, was the only time Kardashian fame happened I. Music, where the media followed them.
It's expensive, cos it's out of print in the US, I think Sony pictures lost the license , Because they didn't own the rights, just a us distribution since polygram wasn't here in the US.
:)
Why you don't like Victoria? She's such a love!
And btw she was besides Mel B the one that was pregnant during the 1998 tour
Thank you so much for watching!
Victoria was a sooo good in the movie all of her dry humor lol was soo funny Victoria did good in this movie
Thank you so much for watching!
They are amazing! luv from Brazil! Keep going!
Thank you! Will do!
I love that you enjoyed this. It is so camp and kitch. Really hope your react to the Spice Girls Live in Wembley show.
Thank you!
@@SalRocha You might also enjoy reacting to all their Solo albums. There are currently 17 in total due to be 18 as Mel C is releasing her 8th Studio Album next month.
@mio bowers 1 of my favourite Live Shows.
Geri is my favourite Spice Girl ✌️😍 she is very charismatic, driven and outspoken. She broke my heart when she left tho 💔😭
Thank you so much for watching!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!!!!

Thank you so much for watching!
Dying at *Can we have tickets for your Albert Hall gig* 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
LOL!
Thanks for doing "Spice World". Would you please do "Xanadu" and react to some Olivia Newton John (like the music video for "Totally Hot")?
Great suggestion!
Thanks for sharing!
It was Amazing i Went to the movies with all my high school classroom 😂
Thank you so much for watching!
The newspaper boss is Barry Humphries AKA Dame Edna.
Thank you so much for watching!
I see you learned all the songs quickly :)
How could you not! :)
Nicola did not have a friendship with the individual girls. Her friendship was with the Spice Girls and only the Spice Girls, it's as if the Spice Girls were the same, single living force in the movie.
Where do you watch spice world online?
It's available on VUDU!
You don't trust Victoria? Me neither.😂
Thank you so much for watching!
Amazing movie
Can you react to Headlines(friendship never ends) the Spice Girls come back single from 2007? I would love to hear your impression about It
