    Try putting set screws in the holes, the machine will just run over them. You will avoid some of the damage from interrupted cuts. You will eventually mill past them into treads, or you will have to use a LH tap to spin them out. It worked for me last time I had a bunch of interrupted cuts.

    on the lower positioning I would have made a notch on the sides and then closed in a vice, so I don't know if the two planes are parallel

    Tohle vypadalo ze začátku na hodně drahý díl.Nekdy nezbývá než se spolehnout na cit co se řezných podmínek týká.

    Could you explain, why you do hard milling dry?

    • @CncFrezar
      @CncFrezar  3 года назад +2

      These slices must not be liquid cooled!

    • @kevind1865
      @kevind1865 3 года назад +2

      If you add coolant when milling steel (aluminum and some SS/superalloys you can use coolant) you get a thermal shock every time the insert exits the cut.
      Carbide no likey thermal shock, so you do it dry and use an air blast to clear chips.
      You can use coolant on a lathe because once the tool is engaged, the insert stays a consistent temperature.

    • @uzkanda
      @uzkanda 3 года назад

      Am I misinformed, but micro carbide grain tools can hold liquid cooling shock.

    • @kevind1865
      @kevind1865 3 года назад +2

      @@uzkanda You're right, it definitely can, and you'd get away with it almost all the time. But when you start getting into things with super long run times, and very consistent cutting conditions like molds/dies, you'll see a definite tool life decrease when using coolant.

      For Finishing In 60Rc we only use OSG’s New A Brand Duorney Endmills they don’t wear out, 18-20 hours they wear away .001-.002

    I have question ,why harden the part and then do finish machine work .

    • @CncFrezar
      @CncFrezar  2 года назад +1

      To be accurate. During hardening, the material bends

    Is this your first part?
    Small dia. tool for large face cutting area.
    Wrong grade of carbide,not shock resistant.
    Face tool extended to far.
    Too much stock left on the one side of the 2 1/2 D areas.
