With all of the revivals of game shows being on ABC for the past few summers. WHY OH WHY isn’t THIS one of them?!? This game is just terrific. I mean Pyramid is on ABC and that was (still is?) a Bob Stewart production.
@@tnawcwvictoria Well, here’s the thing. Don’t get me wrong, Walberg IS a good host. But, would ABC/Disney hire him? VERY unlikely. I honestly have no clue who would be more marketable to them.
here's what aired in primetime: ABC: The Fall Guy (Pleasure Isle), Dynasty (The Bungalow), Hotel (Choices) CBS: Whiz Kids (Programmed for Murder), CBS Wednesday Movie (1983 film Carpool) In late night: The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (Sean Connery, Keenan Ivory Wayans, Tania Maria)
Elaine Joyce and Richard Kline, huh?? Hmph!! During the 70s and 80s there were lots of game shows on daytime TV that used celebrities. But those game shows usually had SUPPORTING actors and actresses from daytime soaps, primetime sitcoms and the occasional primetime drama in addition to stand-up comics as their celebrity panelists. Even though I'm too young to remember the epoch in which I was born (1967) when shows like THE HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, PASSWORD and WHAT'S MY LINE? used A-listers as panelists, I can still definitely appreciate such eras.
Personally, I would definitely ❤ to see this Game Show be rebooted and my pick for host? Definitely Mark L. Walberg, he deserves to host another Game Show, plus I ❤ him on Russian Roulette and no one says Stop the Clock perfectly like he does This should be for Cable TV like Game Show Network or some other Cable Network, IMO
Actually Brandon if you can change the date, this is from October 5, 1983, episode #3 of the Go! series and by this GSN airing, this was rerun on October 15, 1997.
@@armorybrunotjr.3204 You sure? I think I need the game itself to give me some clues on their set. That could be the name, but the show doesn't make it too clear. 🤣🤣
Hardly. Stewart had a number of NBC shows staring with "Eye Guess" in 1966, and then "Personality", "Three On A Match", "Winning Streak" and "Shoot For The Stars." All of those had originated in New York and then in 1980 "Chain Reaction" was his first NBC show in California.
@@epaddon "Eye Guess" is the first game show Bob Stewart produced independently in 1966 after he left Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions (long since Freemantle Television) following the cancellation of the original "Price Is Right" in 1965.
Yes, "The $20,000 Pyramid", "Super Password", "Blockbusters", "Password Plus", "Tic Tac Dough", "The Joker's Wild", and Richard Dawson's '94 version "Family Feud."
i liked this show.
This is the first time I’d seen it,to be honest with you.
this is basically the bonus round of Chain Reaction taken to a whole new level.
And done very well
@@namk19 Eh. Chain Reaction was 10 times better than this.
@@mitchellries256eh
@@namk19 But I will conceed that Kevin O' Connel was a great host. It's too bad though that his career in game shows was short lived.
Elaine Joyce😍😘😍😘😍😘
Yeah I met her at my job many times. She does looks beautiful 4 her age
I also enjoyed having the questions created "on the spot", instead of being pre-written. I would have liked to see it catch on, as well.
This show was not carried by channel 4 due to the noon news
i miss this show.
I remember watching GO on the game show network when I was in middle school and it could have been a hit. 😀👍
What a fun and charming show! I was unsure about this at first, but at the end, I was hooked.

how the mighty have fallen
I wish that Kevin O'Connell had hosted a lot more game shows after Go. He did outstanding as host of Go.
@@tomdalfonzo9959 BTW, K-O left WGRZ two years ago.
I think the reason they switched to a head-to-head format is because there was not enough people who auditioned to be contestants on the show.
It was always "head to head". What you meant to say is "keep all the contestants all week format" vs "just returning champions every day"
good show.

This show looks like Password on steroids
Not even close
Elaine Joyce vs. Richard Kline
The Host of The All New Dating Game vs. Larry Dallas
The Password Plus buzzer sounds for an illegal clue in this episode. I didn't think said buzzer would sound again after 1982.
I honestly think this game show would've had a longer run on syndication than on network TV.
They changed the format to have all the players on the show for a week, like another Bob Stewart show did :)
Using the word Lead as a clue for Cheerleader in the second maingame round should not have been allowed.

It was taken from the end game from "Pyramid".
