Most teens are NOT parroting the 'cis white male' woke lines that are being insisted on here. Most kids mock this woke stuff... the gen Z kids are NOT the younger millennials xD
Not to make anyone feel old, but actual teens are either the youngest of genZ or oldest of genA. Most of genZ is in their 20's and some will be starting their 30's soon.
@@barongerhardtyeah that would be me. I’m like the oldest of gen z. But yeah I think gen z and most younger people besides maybe some of the millennials have pretty aggressively rejected wokeness and the democrats. I think even some of the millennials have started some changed maybe. But gen z have really started.
@@barongerhardtpeople seem to feel old nowadays regardless. I’ve seen people in their teens who feel old it’s like a weird epidemic. People are obsessed with age and at all times feel old. Thirty seems to be a sticking point but forty seems to be where they really think they’re old the most. But even at eighteen when they’re legally an adult they start doing that. It’s odd I don’t know I there’s more of that now or not. I’ve done that and I’ve seen others do it and it’s worse at thirty and really bad at forty but it often doesn’t start there it’s at like teen or the start of twenties. And forty also isn’t old if you’re healthy you should be very youthful and functional at forty but it’s like people mentally change so fast that they almost age themselves b being so in that mindset. I’ve wondered why that is. Do we just not handle change well or the idea of it? Because it doesn’t even seem to be just about appearance or ability to function the things you think would matter as there are younger people now who can hardly function due to health issues and some older ones who are better. It’s more like it’s about something else or people’s conception of you or your conception of you or the concept of responsibility I can’t tell exactly. Because they’re doing that at eighteen I’ve heard them at that age say they wish they were like twelve and I’m sure then the twelve year olds wish they were five it’s like an endless like where each group feels old compared to the last going down to like one. And then the one year olds probably feel old compared to the newborns.
@@barongerhardtbut kids just means younger people. I mean an eighteen year old is also not technically a child, neither really is a sixteen year old as they likely wouldn’t let an actual child drive. So his statement is accurate enough he’s saying the young people or the kids of the population. Also many of the either youngest of the boomers or oldest of gen x people their youngest children are gen z so those are their kids.
@@ComeAlongKay Peak was somewhere around 2011-2015. HRC/DJT was one side trying to embrace it for power and the other rejecting. Even for that part of gen "y me" the fad of it has largely come and gone. I think of it like the hippy movement of the 60's. We will never be free of hippies, but the true believers will dwindle.
If someone uses the term "cis" for any reason other thatn to bag on clowns that use it for real, I'm immediately out.
A surprisingly engaging and heartfelt movie. Worth watching. Might be worthy of a screenplay nomination.
Our modern standard "At least it wasn't preachy"
I much preferred when Shrek had an old ass that was charming and whimsical 😵💫
Shrek is love. Shrek is life.
Clever word play.
Did future Elliott tell young Elliott not to move to Toronto cause the cost of living there has become insane?
Another film not made for me, even more money saved
loved loved LOVED this movie. People need to give this one a chance if they’re on the fence. Granted, I’m a sucker for coming of age movies, but as I’ve gotten older and past the high school age, My Old Ass hit different because there’s this older version of the main character. Great message, funny as hell script, and the emotional beats tug on your heart strings.
Again, Hollywood portrays illicit drug use as not only harmless but beneficial to young people. They could have introduced the older self character using a different approach, but Hollywood never misses a chance to promote drug use.
And getting run through by chad and tyrone.
I thought this was a documentary about a donkey
If it's shrooms there are far worse drugs that one can take. Such as just about any psychiatric drug.
I didn't watch the video, does it show the character as a coal burner? I guess why would she be anything else.
I have no reason whatsoever to give any piece of Western media the benefit of the doubt as far as being woke. I think it's safe to assume it's anti-white, first of all.
Drugs are good, mmmkay 🤤
how high percentage of american women uses pills just to get by?
Honestly, I'm just glad to hear about a movie that you both like. I'll check it out.
My old ass had a crack in it, so I ordered a new one.
😂😂😂😂😂Brilliant!!!
I asked my wife what my old ass looks like, she replied: "Harry", so I divorced her.
Or My Old Arse, in England.
And Wales
Film Threat, Your content is so clean!
Good take ! I love Aubrey Plaza as she usually makes interesting movies. Definitely want to see this one
Safety not guaranteed is still one of my favorite movies. 👍🏻
I think my old ass might even like this movie.
She’s still waiting in Traffic if she moved to Toronto.
😂 it's so bad that they actually made a reality show about it, that I've wasted many a weekend watching a marathon of.
@@johndurham6172 I live close to Niagara Falls 🇨🇦 and I have given up on visiting Toronto…it’s ridiculous
I also find Aubrey Plaza engaging
🎉happy birthday again, Chris. 😂
This movie sounded surprisingly good.... until I found out about the "CIS white male" crap
I'll wait
It's not used like that.
Main character's brother told her that he wasn't too happy about her birthday card saying smth like "Straight white men don't need more happiness". And although she tried at first to deflect with 'it was a joke', she actually realizes that she was a shitty sister & changes her behavior.
This movie is not woke, if anything it low-key makes fun of wokeness
Great to hear can’t wait to check it out
"She's the gen-Z type" - I'm out.
Yeah but the movies about teaching her not to be gen z to the max.
@@MediaFeverPitch Fair enough
@@MediaFeverPitchgreat message but I’m still out lol
Also, she's Gen Z age, but not the obnoxious Gen Z type (ok, for the most part).
i already wrote it during the livestream i rather watch "The Kid" or "13 going 30" for a movie like that and when it comes to the "Message" the movie trys to deliver u can go for "Click" too
I have pimples on my old ass
This does as well. Lots of cellulite too.
Definitely gonna give this one a download
Plaza is such a great actress !
The commercial wants you to think 40 is old (once again). Thanks Brie Larson!
That's what main character thinks, since she's 18.
Her older self is quite the opposite
Movie sounds great!
My old ass. So of course no one is old. Oh Hollywood never change.😂😂😂😮
Why is it rated R if it's so wholesome?
Language, drug use, 5 seconds of 'sex scenes' (people making out till shot change)
From the trailer, I saw this movie as a water down version of Click with Adam Sandler. I may watch it…
Sounds like Frequency meets Gen z 🤔🤣
if it's a Sundance darling, it's guaranteed to be woke garbage.
but it's neither woke, nor garbage..
Glad you daddy’s like this, but bachelor’s would not get anything out of it. Girl daddy movie.
As a bachelor with no kids, I can't agree.
@@grim_2000 I’m known for hyperbole…
Splendid video. In Space Cowboys, Colonel Hawkins (Tommy Lee Jones) trying to convince a waitress about the shortcomings of his buddy Frank Corvin (Clint Eastwood): “Would you prefer this man, with his asymmetrical sagging ass-cheeks and his love handles the size of Nebraska”
Aww, I'm sure it's a really nice old ass, Chris.
It's interesting how all the Audrey Plaza fans hate most of the things she's in.
Cis boom bah.
I just wanted to know if they make out
Ungrateful Gen Z aura...but the sci-fi element intrigues me and I like Aubrey Plaza, so I'll watch it.
It sounds super cute. Not my kind of story.
Even after watching the entire review it looks like an even more woke version of Juno, HARD PASS.
I appreciate the anti-lgbt sentiment the film has, but other than that it just sounds like a slog to get through
Is it really anti-lgtv or is it just pro-family?
@@Mattened
it's pro-family, but not in this aspect.
I won't call it anti-lgbt either (woke crazies probably will though).
Nobody needs a coming of age film featuring a female! There have been plenty in recent history.
Elliot as a name for a girl? Nah
Let me guess......she's been dead all along.
Hated this movie. Not all teens are scuzzy drug using idiots.
Wow..what a lame premise. Gen Z, drugs & Hallmark.
Ugh more woke shit.
