Even for a 12-year old, D.J. Walters has a particularly overactive imagination. He is convinced that his haggard and crabby neighbor Horace Nebbercracker, who terrorizes all the neighborhood kids, is responsible for Mrs. Nebbercracker's mysterious disappearance. Any toy that touches Nebbercracker's property, promptly disappears, swallowed up by the cavernous house in which Horace lives. D.J. has seen it with his own eyes! But no one believes him, not even his best friend, Chowder. What everyone does not know is D.J. is not imagining things. Everything he's seen is absolutely true and it's about to get much worse than anything D.J could have imagined. Кино
“The lady as big as a house” foreshadows her eventual fate
its not last its lady
Wow! Never caught that
This scene is a reveal later in the movie. It's foreshortening, not foreshadowing.
@@nmr7203 i think it is refering that her circus tille foreshadow the fact that she become a house after she died it
@@Silvergalaxy7383what?
Constance just hated being mistreated and Nebbercracker was only trying to protect people from her so she would not attack anyone who comes near her.
That's because Nebbercracker was scared that Constance was gonna eat them up
Yeah but, it's too apparent the longer Constance trapped in mortal plane, the more unbearable such predicament for her that her temper got worse.
Exactly.
@kendalberry9058 well that is what protecting people from her, so she wouldn't attack them means
Even tho being who your not can distroy you, he still was a good man
I don't blame her because she was severely abused and he tried to take her away from it.. the damage was done to her mind and personality..
It's not just that, because she was a monster she changed into something that dose not belong in the mortal world.
@@tomedy_official all of it because she was severely abused
@@tomedy_official Uh, No! She was NEVER a monster. People TREATED her like one because she looked different. In turn, being told that for years while being abused, most likely led her believe she was one.
Also if you think about it, she was basically a tragic villain.
Cecil from invincible is right, PTSD is horrible
That plot twist took me by surprise when I first saw the movie
I thought that Lauren Bacall was the voice of Constance

Me too
@@summerskull9379nah... this movie terrorized me
As I grew older, I come to really empathise with Constance and her “overreaction” to them throwing stones at her house. Like yeah, getting triggered at an egg thrown at her because she used to work as a circus freak? Valid. But saying that attacking the house was hurting HER?
This woman who is OVER THE MOON just to have a house in the middle of butt-fuck desert nowhere, she finally had her safe space, her ticket to happiness after who knows how long she was in the circus. With the sweetest husband that seemed to be building the house all by himself since he’s too poor to buy anywhere else. And it was gonna be luxurious too (for the time maybe). Two storeys? Basement? She was banking EVERYTHING on this life and was so over-protective to not jeopardise it. When you’ve had nothing but bad in your life and you’re finally given a good thing, you hold onto it tight. Usually too tight.
The house was her symbol for a new life and to attack it with even something as insignificant as a thrown pebble was to attack her. Did she ever even HAVE a home before Nebbercracker?
Probably not. She was used as a circus freak, her only "house" would be her cage.
Amazing insight
Well if my KID neighbor throwing a fricking stone and egg at me and my house while it just been build half done, I would be mad too, it will hurt both physically and emotionally, I didn't think she wrong at all
I mean, she had a cage.....
@@CA_786 shes no criminal, a cage isnt a home.
This scene used to made me really sad as a kid, Constance basically did nothing wrong yet got treated like an animal and dying right before starting a new live with someone who truly cared for her, no wonder Nebbercracker hated kids so much...Bullies are just the worst and people should realize age is not an excuse.
Nebbercracker didnt hate kids, he would shoo them off to protect them from the wrath of constance.
Amen to that.
Some people used their age and how they are treated badly as an excuse to do something bad to others.
Lol its either your a good person or not. If No one is forcing you to hurt anyone and if you did. Your a fkn shtty human being.
@@Ihazfunkitty poor old man loved the rest of his life after Constance's death being remembered as the man who fattened his wife and ate her.
The scary part is, if the fall didn't kill her, the cement certainly did. While it probably doesn't dry up that quickly, it still would've suffocated her, and the fall likely rendered her either dazed and immobile or completely unconscious, the former being a much worse fate. Nebbercracker never would have been able to save her regardless due to being knocked to the ground. I also didn't see a ladder or stairway to the basement, so reaching her in time would be a slim chance at best.
Especially given concrete is corrosive, with an average ph of 11, meaning it's alkaline. If the fall didn't hurt, then not only did she drown, she was dissolved as well
I guess that's what happens when you leave a large pit in your backyard. Somebody can fall
@@shaggy4real97 cement ain't sulfuric acid bro.... she would suffocate before any of that could take affect....
@bungiecrimes7247 never explicitly said it was. Just saying, imagine a burning tingly sensation while drowning all over your body on top of feeling parts of your body break from a fall like that. I'm saying it was a more horrible death than a simple drowning
@@shaggy4real97 I disagree. It usually takes longer for concrete to chemically burn you. You might not even be aware it is until over an hour of contact with it. You can suffocate in 5 minutes. If she managed to get her head out to avoid suffocating for a while then I could agree, but even if she didn't die or was paralyzed on impact, she likely didn't have the strength after her fall and with her weight to lift her head out of it.
I love this movie. This is my favorite scene. It teaches and demonstrates that love has no boundaries. And that appearance isn't everything.
Exactly 👍
It's really beautiful, they don't make movies like this anymore...
I have to rewatch all these movie now as an adult. Monster House was just a b movie to me as a kid
@@temperspaceYeah, and now we realize how good this is
"So I finished the house... she would've wanted that... she died, but she didn't leave... and that night, the one night of EVERY year... I-I had to take precautions... I had to... I had to"
The way Nebbercracker delivers those first two lines, poor guy sounds absolutely broken, before his voice shifts to a more haunting and hopeless tone, completely taken over by fear of what his house/wife might do to the kids who tresspass. Steve Buscemi did an excellent job portraying Nebbercracker as a sympathetic old man who has to play the role of that scary and angry old geezer, all to keep kids safe from his wife's vengeful wrath, and the mystery behind the house is just so good, also the fact Chowder unintentionally got it right that the house was 'a girl house' but it's played for laughs, absolute brilliant foreshadowing.
Glad I wasn't the only one who saw that as foreshadowing looking back.

@@demochris1786 Lol she's always had a deeper more sultry voice.
She was never been the same after Roger left her.
She was much older when she voiced Constance, and women’s voices naturally deepen as they get older. So it makes sense.
Not to mention Serial Mom
I love how instead of just breaking her out of the cage and sitting in the bed of the truck he decided to just hitch her to the back
Work smart not hard lol.
Seemed like he was gonna re-use it for spare materials judging by his taking it apart in the later scene. Actually pretty smart move.
why waste time breaking it open and making a rachet in the middle of night?
She didnt fit in the front
Breaking a metal cage can be so loud and takes a lot of time, they would've been caught.

This movie is really unexpectedly solid. It has some of the most natural dialogue I've ever heard in an animated movie, and real emotional chops. Nebbercracker and Constance's backstory is so heartbreaking.
Poor Nebbercracker and his wife and Poor DJ too.

BREAKING NEWS: In a shocking, yet surprisingly fitting, turn of events, it has been revealed that Hello Neighbor is related to Mr. Nebbercracker and Constance from the movie Monster House. This latest revelation sheds new light on the two franchises, and will surely send both their fanbases into a frenzy. This surprising connection also sheds new light on Hello Neighbor's hatred of people coming to his house, as now it makes more sense why he would be so defensive of his homestead. This is surely a development that no one could have seen coming, but one that is bound to keep audiences on the edge of their seat as they wait to see

This movie did a good job no one is purely a villain.
Not the babysitter even though she’s a jerk she is still shown to be responsible.
Not bones as he too had a really bitter childhood because of nebberctacker
Not nebbercracker cause the whole time he’s just been playing the role of a bitter old grump in order to protect the kids on the street.
Not even Constance as she too is a victim of abuse who just doesn’t want to let go of that house which is the last thing tying her to any amount of happiness.
real villain was them damn kids throwin eggs at a poor lady
The real monster isn’t Constance, but Mr. Nebbercracker’s grief and refusal to accept his wife’s death
He wasted 45 years of his life putting up with her current state, at that point you should have blown up the house by now and his stroke was his realization that he can’t keep it up forever. He thought to himself in the hospital, “what if I die and she attacks more people who come near and I am not there to chase people off?” This is the last year of Halloween once and for all.

The scene makes me cry when I see it everything when I watch monster house 😢
This movie absolutely horrified me when I was young. I had nightmares for days
This is a truly tragic story: Constance was treated horribly and Nebbercracker tried to help her. All Constance wanted was to live a peaceful life with her husband.
But it all went in vain because of those 2 kids who threw eggs
She doesn’t deserve the hate she gets
You know, if Constance were real, she'd be a _perfect_ match for Nick Godejohn, AKA, Victor the 500-year-old vampire
Those mistreating her were the actual devils💔
When i was a kid a cried when both of them started dancing as a goodbye 😢
For a time, every halloween I had a ritual. Goosebumps marathons would run on Cartoon Network every halloween night. And there was two halloween movies that for a time would come on two channels at specific time of days. One of them was Monster House. God that movie was great. When I stopped Trick or Treating in Junior High when I was 12 or 13 years old watching those shows and alternating channels at specific times was my ritual. God to be young again.
I wish we got to see the reactions of those two boys after Constance fell and was covered in cement. Imagine that being the first time Mr. Nebbercracker lashing out at kids.
Greatest plot twist in movie history

“Damn that sucks”

Like wtf 😭
It was the least he could for her I guess. Just like how Carl Fredricksen (from UP) continued his journey to Paradise Falls after Ellie's death, Nebbercracker continued building the house for her. They're both tied by grief from the death of their wife.
@@YukiXKohaku Ok up is understandable, and this guy is too but the main issue i hvae with this movie and not with up is that he left his freaking wifes corpse down their and kept building it over his wifes rotting body 😭

FUCK, YOU`RE RIGHT!XD
This family Halloween animated film really shows this part taking a sad and dark turn. We feel sorry for her. It really reminds me where Kayako from The Grudge 2 (released that same year) had a bad life because of her mother. As a child, her mother takes out the dark spirits from people and feed it to her during a ritual, thus making her living a sad and abusive life, and later becoming a vengeful ghost, after her husband killed her from jealousy. That's what the legend here says... "That's where the curse started."
It's the curse.
Poor thing she just wanted a safe place to live T_T
I think they should make a live action movie of monster house, it would be like a really awesome horror movie
I always imagined that Monster House would be entirely live-action instead of computer animated but i love it like it is.
Keep the movie as it is
...... Backlash would come bcs of people thinking it's fatphobic
And imagine in the live action when they found here cemented body
Or it could just remain animated because live action isn't automatically better than animated. What would actually be improved to warrant it?

This brings a whole new meaning to the word 'housewife'. Nebbercracker could had plenty of time to save her, cement doesn't dry up that fast!
I think it was also the fall and how exactly is he supposed to get her out of the cement
Falling backwards 10-15 feet and landing hard on stone/packed dirt is no joke. Broken neck or broken spine, dead in an instant. Not to mention hundreds of pounds of cement falling straight on top of you. I just hope it wasn't a Gilbert Grape situation where he wouldve needed a crane.
