well its a beautiful world but the dialoque was straight garabage, they have a okayish story, if they just fix the dialoque its like an instant 9/10 show
it's nonsense that started online before the show even came out. you know how haters are, they like to be in a crowd, so folks joined in. They were joined by some gatekeeping book readers that had fair complaints, but then it just devolved into a hate train of BS that is finally wearing off. people are the worst. It's the same on every show I've enjoyed now for the last 4 years especially star wars. Just ignore it
It's quite different from it's source material (the Silmarillion) which I really like the stories of and I'm disappointed not seeing them accurately represented here since I find them more enjoyable and better executed than what I have seen from the show so far. Everybody who doesn't know the books, existing next to the LotR books, doesn't have any expectations and how it's source material did it more successfully or better. Therefore I can generally recommend to the people interested to look into how the book does it as well, so you can make up your own mind about it.
It’s a terrible adaptation of the source material but that doesn’t mean it’s a terrible show, so people are bound to enjoy it but on the flip side it also makes sense why people don’t like it aswell.

The timing of this is perfect because I JUST took one of my LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE character through the flashback where you see Annatar (or Antheron as he's called in-game because LotRO doesn't have the license to use the name Annatar) convince Celebrimbor to forge the Rings... and then you see Sauron forging the One Ring while the poem is read in voiceover. :D

Not gonna sugar coat it this trailer made me tear up. It gave me all the old feelings of watching LOTR for the first time again. Idc about the haters bc I’ve noticed they just want to hate not love the fact that we have more middle earth.
I think the stranger might end up being Saruman but Gandalf makes more sense with the whole Harfoot angle. I just rewatched season1 and I still like it but understand all of the gripes. Good teaser and I am happy they are dropping 3 eps right off the bat.
If you want to get into Rings of Power S 1 again, there is a site called Signum University and it is all things Rings of Power and LOTR and he does re-caps after each episode and they are hours long going over EVERYTHING. It's fascinating how he discusses what's going on with the intensity and depth he has. I will be watching him after each ep just to get a better grasp and see what I missed.

The first season was definitely BIG but there was also a ton of exposition. Which was kind of great. Nice hangin' in Middle Earth at a slower pace. Really cool to see all this onscreen. Honestly never thought it would happen.

I just know what I like and what I don’t like. My only real issue with season one was some pacing issues. And a few little things but small enough that it didn’t take me out of it. I'm a massive LOTR fan, and I enjoyed the first season of the rings of power. I look at it as a shared/alternate universe. There are some moments in the show that I thoroughly enjoy . I will always keep it separate from the books/original movies and I'm excited for the next season.
Nobody mentioned my girl Disa, that's fine, I'm not mad. LMAO I'm so damn excited for this show. The first half of Season 1felt like an "intro the characters intro the plot." But I remember how different, intense, and dark, those last two episodes were. I think that really set up what this whole season will end up being. It was also one of the few shows where I really felt a connection to a lot of the characters. The acting was so well done that even the not pure-of-heart characters had you sympathizing a bit.
I think the stranger is Gandalf. At the end of Season 1 he said, when in doubt follow your nose. In the original LOTR movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, when they were stuck in Moria, he kinda said the same thing.

The word means nothing to people, so people who haven't seen the channel forget it immediately after you say it. I really liked season 1 and can’t wait for season 2. I have a few minor critiques as a fan of the source material but I wish more people would understand that there’s going to be huge changes when adapting the 1st and 2nd age. Hardcore fanboys need to know that you won’t get a 1 to 1 adaptation. I just want compelling characters first and foremost.

They take off the rings once Sauron forges the one ring, at this point the one ring hasn’t been made so they’re safe to wear them. I’m guessing when Sauron forges the one then they’ll stop using it, they knowingly wield the 3 rings after Sauron is defeated because they are necessary for their survival.
I thought the first season was underwhelming but I’m a massive LOTR fan and I’ll take all I can get from what I think is the greatest trilogy ever. I think they’ll learn from their mistakes and this season will be awesome.

Like all the games, figurines Peter Jackson films everything was licensed through the the other rights holders, not the Tolkien estate. So when amazon bought these rights, they literally only got the rights to TV. The other lot still have all Merch rights iirc

Also my money is on The Stranger being a blue wizard as it follows the Lore of the going to Rhun to help the rebellion against the followers of Melkor.
When you say "Stick to the story" remember....this was based "On the works of" not the Silmarillion.......when the family sold the rights...it was stipulated it would not be The Silmarillion

I don't care what the popular opinion is - I am still gonna watch this. I enjoyed the 1st season.
