I had the honor of being targeted by fans of this fanfiction garbage who told me I'm "not a fan" because I don't tolerate the Rings of Power and am a "gatekeeper". HELL YEAH I'm a gatekeeper for Tolkien if the alternative is being what they admitted they are, so desperate for new Tolkien material in visual media that they're willing to essentially settle for ROP no matter how astray it is from the real lore. People who support this show have either never read anything Tolkien, or absolutely have no respect for the Professor, therefore their opinions are irrelevant. We who support real Tolkien are the only true fans. End of story. Even the casuals and these "fans" didn't support this show last season, given the ratings.

about a year ago I saw pictures/videos of the Galadriel actress outside of the production, dressed in ordinary clothes, she was smiling like a real person and seemed nice and cute. Not a blow your mind kind of girl, but the kind that will make your ordinary days happy. The question that comes to mind is WTF did they do to her in that show and promos? It's like they try to make her unlikable on purpose. What did they dress her in? Crumpled tin foil and then they hung a disconnected piece of plate armor around her neck.
Because these people are on a campaign against beauty in the word. I mean it. This mentality is everywhere. They aren't even worried if the show makes profit or not, propaganda it's everything that matters.
She's a perfectly average looking woman. A healthy 6/10. Or 7/10 if they were willing to actually put her in a properly flattering outfit. She would have been great as, say, a peasant girl who rises up and becomes the unlikely hero. A character like Bronwyn. But as an elf like Galadriel? Hell no.

A defender of the show actually told me that it doesn't matter how far they stray from the source material, all that matters to them is if they mention or allude to things that existed in tolkien's writing. So literally all you have to do to please these people is have a terrible script with no recognizable characters that never existed in the lore, but as long as somebody says something like, " Hey, remember the trees of light and Manwe? She was hired to be the producer. She is usually handling the behind the scenes stuff with chat, posting pics and finding stuff. It was a while before she said anything on the show. Gary had to explain to people why she wasn't talking, but he was wanting to include her on camera anyway. Go to her channel, you'll hear her talking about things.
I honestly had to stop and double check the promo trailer just to make sure that these weren't the costumes for the second season. I normally wouldn't need to do that but then again Amazon has wrecked so much of the lore that I can't put it past them to try and include a character dressed in a modern suit made from sofa fabric.

Took a Tolkien course in University, it looks like the writer's room is having trouble replicating / capturing his work in Rings of Power. Albeit the casual reader is unlikely to dig deeper in works like Unfinished Tales, Silmarillion, Letters of Tolkien etc.

I normally wouldn't need to do that but then again Amazon has wrecked so much of the lore that I can't put it past them to try and include a character dressed in a modern suit made from sofa fabric.

You do not need to look exactly like Peter Jackson's Galadriel, just stick her in a flowing white gown because that's how she's described in the books. It wasn't a fashion choice in LoTR, it was a choice to try stick as closely to the books as possible. This is a choice to diverge from the books as much as possible.

Took a Tolkien course in University, it looks like the writer's room is having trouble replicating / capturing his work in Rings of Power. Albeit the casual reader is unlikely to dig deeper in works like Unfinished Tales, Silmarillion, Letters of Tolkien etc.
