A little note in regards to frequency and vibration. Colours are a byproduct of a frequency, and a frequency that we see in a colour has its own purpose, here is a little list of the meaning of several frequencies, and will serve as a general guide to understand what energies are in most of the stones we encounter, now there are exceptions but this general information is very helpful. Red, that's the frequency of love, pink is the frequency of compassion, yellow is for the solar plexus, it's for gut knowing and knowing in general, and also some strength. Orange, a strong pure orange, that's the frequency of passion, light green is spiritual healing, dark green is physical healing, light blue is hope, dark blue is strength of affirmation, a yellow orange is the frequency of joy, purple is accessing information, which makes a lot of sense when you know it is related to the crown energy focal point. Other frequencies, black is personal power, a softer charcoal colour is a relaxed, strong energy, powerful but much more chilled and laid back than a sharp black, brown is relaxation and grounding, white is high vibration, can be calming as well, grey is a balanced, neutral frequency. Clear frequencies relate to unformed, potential energy, like a clean slate you've yet to write on. Each stone has its own vibration, but just because something is purple for example, it doesn't mean it is the highest vibrational stone, amethyst is actually a middle vibration, and settling, but nowhere near as high vibrational as some other crystals. Cleansing stones have higher vibration, citrine is very cleansing in the head, that's higher vibration than amethyst, blue kyanite is very cleansing in the gut and digestive tract, also higher in vibration, and amazonite is even higher in vibration, and very cleansing for the whole body. Selenite is also very high vibrational, and danburite is the highest vibrational crystal I have, perfect for flowing into the source field for information (akashic record). When you learn to feel stone energy to a high degree you can learn to feel the vibration, it is a specific pulse you can tune into, you can learn to sense how much it vibrates, and also tell if it has a short wavelength or a long one. Star material is high vibration, but it's more of power blast to your energy field.
I do agree with that for the most part. The exception would be the pink, and that is because many people do use Rose Quartz for love, not for compassion, but, it can be used for that reason also. Apophyllite, Danburite, Petalite, and the Super 7 are all high vibrational crystals, and among my favorites :)
Great explanations! As someone with a MS in chemistry I'm glad you brought up Entropy and energy. In my mind the idea of entropy is key to making sense of crystals, structured water etc. and not talked about enough. Nice props, too!

Hi HM! Yes, this information is, not only fascinating, but, extremely informative to someone like myself. I recently started a collection of spheres because I thought they were “pretty”. (I was also bored during lockdown). I have come to find that the powers of crystals are very intriguing. I love my moldavite, however, I am not lucky enough to feel the energy yet. I do know, however, that they are in my life now for a reason...a reason, I do not know for sure why yet. Thank you for sharing your passion, education and kindness. I want so bad to be able to feel the energy from these beings that now possess my interest. (A lot).
Timber, that's an interesting comment, I've got some info that may be of use to you. If you want to learn how to feel stone energy then here is the easiest way, it may take a little practice and self belief, but you have the potential to get quite good at it. Just hold the stone in your fingertips, both hands preferably, the fingertips are the strongest and easiest way to sense the energy, our energy comes out of the tips of our fingers like energy straws, they're designed for gathering this kind of energetic input. The key is to relax and let the energy flow into your body, relaxation is so important, in a relaxed state our own energy flows outwards with ease, so try not to put any pressure on yourself. I like to sit in my yard and just pick a tree or a spot in the sky and just stare at it. Staring engages a natural daydream like state that can be turned on like a switch when you've learned to work with it. Just let your eyes go a little bit out of focus as you stare, this really happens naturally anyway so don't overthink it, but when the main vision and the peripheral vision are engaged simultaneously it triggers a whole relaxation process in our whole body that lets the energy flow so much more easily. After a while, when you get familiar with feeling stone energy, it will be something you can do at will, wherever you happen to be, but do t worry about that for now, just go slow, take your time, relax and have fun with the process. Record any thoughts and impressions you get from each stone, build up your own base of knowledge from this work, and keep expanding on it. In regards to Moldavite, that's very powerful healing energy, both physical and spiritual healing, but mostly physical healing, it's one of the best healing stones you can get. It's expensive so I would regularly advise people to just get some very affordable dark green serpentine for physical healing, but you already have some so just keep working with it. Moldavite came from another planet a very long time ago, and you can learn to communicate to the spirit that is connected to the piece you have. By the way, the spirit connected to Moldavite has a name, and that's Mollae, that will help you to connect with her, she's very a very loving spirit, planetary essence to be precise, but that's another story.

Question: what about crystal specimens that are still embedded in the matrix from which they grew? Does the rougher matrix supporting the crystal have it's own Dominant Oscillary Rate, perhaps at a lower vibration than the crystal point itself? Might this create a vibrational frequency that has broader spectrum (and perhaps is also somewhat less stable ) than simply the crystal itself without the matrix? I'm asking because I've had less positive reactions to crystals attached to their matrixes; I've felt as if they weight me down in an oddly uncomfortable way. Anna Budd, yes the matrix has a different vibration and frequency than the crystal it's on, which will directly effect the feeling you get from it when you flow into it. Two examples, I have a nice piece of apothylite on a granite matrix, granite is so dense it gives me a headache when I feel it, but the apothylite is high vibrational and clean and light, so what to do? I lay it on the table and just touch the crystal part, or reach out with my energy from a foot away, or even accross the room, I don't pick up the granite frequency when I do either. I have a piece of amethyst that has a little matrix on it, it's a grounding and strengthening frequency in that matrix, so I use that amethyst when I want the benefits of that energy for my crown, but when I'm also in the mood for, or need some grounding and stabilization at the same time. It's all about the specific feel of a stone and what you need at any given moment. Hope that helps, cheers.

HM may I clarify if different size of the same crystal has a different DOR then does it mean 2 different size clear quartz for example will have a different effect on us?
Hibiscus or anybody that can help, I just purchased 6 lbs of bulk rough crystals , I’ve soaked them and scrubbed with tooth brush , my question is CAN I spray a gloss finish over the crystals for them to stay in that wet shiny look without polishing and changing the shape?! Will this effect the properties of the crystals , I want to make them into jewelry but want to keep the tumbled look but they are dull without water
Cem, spraying a gloss finish over the stones will actually impede the flow of the energy coming from the stone. If you're worried about them being in jewelry but not having enough sheen or shine to them, then you're probably better off not making them into jewelry. Just keep them near a little container of water so you can dunk the raw piece in it and then you can experience their natural sheen whenever you like. Or, consult someone who has experience in polishing stones on a grinder, or consider buying some form of grinder yourself. Just for the record, there are worse things that someone could do to a stone than spraying or painting it a gloss, but it negates or highly interferes with the natural flow of the energy coming from a stone, which ruins the benefits or what that stone can do for you. Even if you don't believe that there's energy in a stone, it still works for you, or for the person who buys your jewelry, but not so well if you coat in a barrier like that. The worst thing someone can do to a stone? Cover it in titanium, that's a big no no, that's like raping a stone, a violation of what it's meant for, and for the spirit that's connected to that stone as well.
Human being, that's sounds like a good joba for you, lol. As long as it isn't a chemical varnish, but a natural oil, but would it permanently give the stone shine? Or is it a short term temporary fix that would wear off after a few days or weeks?

Dwayne Carberry, it would not permanently give the stone shine but jojoba oil is longer lasting than other oils, I believe, and you could also use oils that work with the crystal like lavender oil and amethyst is an example.
Hi... my youngest daughter is newly married.... if she gets pregnant she does... they aren't trying but not preventing... any crystals to help her manifest as well as better choices for pregnancy

Hibiscus or anybody that can help, I just purchased 6 lbs of bulk rough crystals , I’ve soaked them and scrubbed with tooth brush , my question is CAN I spray a gloss finish over the crystals for them to stay in that wet shiny look without polishing and changing the shape?! Will this effect the properties of the crystals , I want to make them into jewelry but want to keep the tumbled look but they are dull without water
Cem, spraying a gloss finish over the stones will actually impede the flow of the energy coming from the stone.
If you're worried about them being in jewelry but not having enough sheen or shine to them, then you're probably better off not making them into jewelry. Just keep them near a little container of water so you can dunk the raw piece in it and then you can experience their natural sheen whenever you like.
Or, consult someone who has experience in polishing stones on a grinder, or consider buying some form of grinder yourself.
Just for the record, there are worse things that someone could do to a stone than spraying or painting it a gloss, but it negates or highly interferes with the natural flow of the energy coming from a stone, which ruins the benefits or what that stone can do for you.
Even if you don't believe that there's energy in a stone, it still works for you, or for the person who buys your jewelry, but not so well if you coat in a barrier like that.
The worst thing someone can do to a stone? Cover it in titanium, that's a big no no, that's like raping a stone, a violation of what it's meant for, and for the spirit that's connected to that stone as well.

Human being, that's sounds like a good joba for you, lol. As long as it isn't a chemical varnish, but a natural oil, but would it permanently give the stone shine? Or is it a short term temporary fix that would wear off after a few days or weeks?
Dwayne Carberry that’s what I was worried about! I don’t want to restrict the flow of energy. I do love and appreciate the rough look , I guess I am just asking how to properly wash them so that they don’t appear as dusty when not wet .

Dwayne Carberry, it would not permanently give the stone shine but jojoba oil is longer lasting than other oils, I believe, and you could also use oils that work with the crystal like lavender oil and amethyst is an example.
