The grandeur of Ralph Waldo Emerson's “skyborn music” text creates a canvas for Dan Forrest's magnificent sonorities in this superb selection for choir and soloist with piano or optional strings. Breathtaking in its beauty and imagery!

Pure brilliance. Dan captures the beauty of the transcendental movement and the poetry of Emerson so well. The idea that taught that divinity pervades all of nature and humanity, that the only way to truly know god is too know nature. Lincoln was a Transcendentalist. From 3:43-4:25 is so moving, so out of worldly. This angelic voice comes out of the horizon as it is being massaged by all of god's creatures! "Even in the darkest meanest things, there alway, alway, something sings! What beautiful music to text, I cry every time I hear this.

This is one of my favorite choral compositions. I've been singing for over 50 years and have sung hundreds of songs.
    This one remains special.
