With the posted note example. Most bots click the same pixel every time. Most humans don't press the same pixels 100 times, they move ever so slightly.
So there is an easy way to notice the difference
nope, the key is that you can easly programm a set square within the clickabale area, to randomly choose a pixel to chose from. this will take the bot like 0.001 Sec longer to calculate. but its a fine price for being undetected.

I've been banned for "use of bots" in mobile, my acc was created in 2008 and i never used a bot, or some glitch or some kind of stuff, i lost tons of hours that i dedicated in this gratefull game, and the fact that i cant even talk with someone to try to appeal my ban makes me very sad
You can thank whiny rat bitches like SirPugger for that shit happening. They get off on killing the fun of people, even if it means innocent people lose their accounts as well. In fact, that gets them off even more. He's the kinda kid that always told the teacher who was bad when they left the room, and got beat up for it after school.

Lots of fun otherwise, but they need to bring back the random high level enemies that appear if you're mining/fishing. (example: shade)
You can easily run away from the attacker npc or you can solve a random event or you can return back to your spot even if a npc attacker kills ur char you CAN write protection in your scripts for these events... They need different or better detection system

Because the game is amazing, but holy hell does the late game grinding get stupid long. Takes average 4k hours to make a max main, assuming most efficient methods. Most first timing max main will take 7k+ hours.

@@adrianamundsen6939 PVM'ing and questing are literally decades ahead of osrs, that's reason enough to play rs3. Yeah a bunch of new systems made the grinds easier in RS3, but that's so you can stop grinding and actually start playing the good parts of the game more

Is it really a hustle? I mean you could work a real job and bot on the side. Botting means you don't have to actually be there doing anything the bot does it for you. So its not really much of hustle there is zero work. You download a bot and run it while you're at work. You come home check on it maybe then keep running it while you do other things. Got to go the store? Don't worry you have multiple bots running while there... I think the only way i can morally justify botting is if you can't work for some reason. Like being handicap or something so there is hardly any job you can work at.

Jagex isn't going to do anything about the bots. They never did. Very few get banned. There are so many obvious bots out there that have been there for ages. Take the grand exchange for example. There are always gambling bots, there are some bots called Steven that run around and spam the chat. They have been there for months.
Well, they did do something about the bots twice but they are considered one of the worst updates in history.
I am talking here about what used to be RS2 and is RS3 today. The purpose of most bots is to farm gold that can be sold for real money. The trade limit in 2007 destroyed real world trading and thus made the bot problem much more managable. The second solution they implemented was a way to make real world trading obselete, by real world trading themselves. Microtransactions in RS3, despite its controversy, made a lot of botting obselete because Jagex filled that market themselves. And most people would obviously want a safe (In both being scammed and banned) way to pay real money for gold. I do occasionally play RS3 still and most of the time there's no bot in sight.
This is the reason why Jagex can't fix the bot problem in OSRS though. Such controversial measures will most likely never be considered by the team and if they were it would be even less likely to pass a poll.
Only way I can see Jagex fixing this is through some kind of machine learning. Because bots can likely beat any kind of regular detection. There's probably so many bots that it would not be feasible to have employees sort through all of those accounts and manually verifying them either. Although the idea of hired bot hunters does sound cool.
A better report system, or a mass report specifically for bots with the ability to give information in why you think these accounts are bots(what pattern do you see between them?).
@@hiiammoot an easy way I detect bots since I used to bot myself are the random events. You know when you send the random event person away a puff of smoke appears and then goes away. Well bots can click on this Random Event person before it even appears on the screen. So fast that the only thing seen is just the puff of smoke. If you ever see that then you know they are using a bot since a Human can't know if there is a random event spawning.

I got a solution. Buy the bot join the server look an through at all the proof they are so kindly providing then lookup each accounts IP and ban all associated accounts. Hurts like shit but would solve some shit pretty handily. If they have 400 users with multiple accounts each and they are all posting proofs? THOUSANDS OF BOTS GO AWAY. Who do they blame? The bot maker lol.

1. Release scores of people with the power to report bots directly to Jagex.
2. Register EVERY SINGLE ACTION taken by the reported bots.
3. Machine learning what actions the bots have in common. There is always a pattern and with thousands of data points it should be possible.
Not just actions like clicking and moving. I'm talking exp gain, exp gain/h, specific skills, specific areas, play time, equipment, items picked up etc etc.

My theory on why they're so many bots.

You can absolutely notice a pattern when on someone who is using a bot compared to someone that has a post-it note stuck to its screen. There should be a lot of irregularities between clicks and the absolute click positions on mobile. Besides if 1000 people are following the exact same pattern for a skill it would be noticeable anyway. Jagex could potentially just run a bot themselves see what kind of pattern it produces and ban anyone with the same movement.
the #1 issue that prevents bot detection measures is false positives and how rushing a system that produces too many of them will kill the game/company.
Everyone cries "Do something" and puts pressure on the devs, but then get mad when they get exactly what asked for, a rushed solution that while it works... It also bans a ton of legit accounts.
Next up in news, SirPugger mysteriously hacked with 2step authenticator set.

Most information on botting in this Video is false. RS uses heuristic analysis for bot detection and that can be used on Pc AND Mobile.
Also Windows Tablets are a thing since the early 2000s.
Those "Botting Experts" are just making up those ridiculous ban rates to promote their bot.

Here is my proposition. Since the game is in the UK why dont they make a facility in Venezuela and pay people the UK minimum wage to monitor bots and there can be a head Jagex Venzuelan mod who oversees the whole operation. Not that they are the only ones botting but it would give them jobs.
Edit: Also I'd like to know what percentage of bots reported by players are reviewed or banned. Cuz I report them all the time but Idk if it's even worth the time.

I can confirm that mobile has a bot detection because I received a soft ban for using an auto clicker on mobile. So there definitely is a detection system but maybe one that only determines repetitive clicks in the same 2 or more positions.

Whoever said that was retarded, bots are not that simplistic. There are bots that are so sophisticated they can do raids 1 with little to no failure. It really depends on the programmer how well a bot can function and adapt.

Flag someone if they've been active for over 38 of the last 48 hours, and then have a mod manually check on them. it's extremely easy to realize someone is a skiller bot. Otherwise teleport them or otherwise try to get them to perform another action. Ban the ones that don't respond after 5 minutes. There's no excuse for not having a good enough bot detection system when these problems can be sorted out in 2 months with minimal human effort, and the fact that people can do skilling 23 hours a day for 2 months and not get flagged shows Jagex doesn't give a shit about botting since it makes more people buy bonds.

From my Experience getting caught is rare. I used to bot and it was fun The risk and reward feeling was awesome. It was great cause I could grind thousands of xp and gp while I was busy doing something else. The reason I botted was because I found out about Bonds after taking a hiatus from runescape for many years and found out you can just grind GP in game and buy Membership. So I said "why not just bot and see where it takes me" If I get caught I'll have lost nothing. If I make enough to buy members then I'll keep playing. So I made a new account and tried it out. About a week later I finally made enough to buy a Bond. Once I made members it was actually really easy to just keep going. Then I was banned after about 3 months of on and off botting. Once I got banned it wasn't really fun anymore I just feared my account was gonna get banned again so I stopped. Now since I have the levels in skills to make decent gp every week I can just grind normally without a bot and I'm fine.
You don't have to pay $30 usd for this rip off bot. His bot is essentially just bluestacks and ghost mouse but he makes a living off it

I've personally used an app that just tracks my taps on screen and just repeats those clicks..... honestly the game is just that simple. Tap the screen for hours and hours repeat those same clicks for hours and hours....... so minig. Cooking. Herblore agility flecthing etc. Etc. Are just skills u literally have to click the same spots over and over.

Those AFG bots you show at Edgeville at the end have been making cannonballs for 6+ months. Probably not the same account, but whoever runs the account hasn't quit making Cballs for months. The AFG bots make bow strings in lumbridge castle for months on end as well.
In other games you can monitor the data to detect the frequency of behavior of real players from fake. It takes time to set up, but you can easily detect real players from bots by activity/hours/and matrices monitoring.
In other games, you can normalise a data set by looking at the difference in behavior from paying players and free to play players. Then you set those parameters into a detection system.
Other than that, if you design the game to have enough uncertainty and force the players to engage in active decision making processes, then bots can't be developed to be effective.
Except bots act like humans, and at times, humans act like bots. Thats why jagex doesnt use an autodetection system
I know I've looked like a bot before when I was grinding skills harcore. It's been awhile since I played RS, but caging chins for example. 4 hours a day without changing anything was nothing. I might randomly chat with someone once or twice in that time span. Usually at the beginning and end. Other than that, I just set the same 4 traps in the same 4 spots. Or woodcutting for instance. All I clicked on was the trees and the path to the bank.
Just reminding y'all, JageX loves bots because they inflate player counts and they pay for membership. Easy profit without any loss. They only ban the disruptive or super obvious ones.

Its definitely still a thing it just makes no sense to me because runescape is literally a series of achievements and not actually working towards them yourself defeats the entire purpose of the game
Using death mechanics to discourage bots would definitely be a step in the right direction. Tricking PVM or dangerous area bots (Like Karambwans) into suiciding could enlist a lot of real players, if they could actually profit from it.
i just got back into the game after 9 years away (f2p, same as back then) and had a few innocent hours of "wow look at all these level 3s! it's so cool how many brand new players there are" before realizing. I report them here and there but i know it's pointless, and it's a real bummer to return to the world of OSRS only to find it weirdly haunted and empty of real people

@@beingofstrange runescape just has that really good reward feel to things, but the entire grinding thing is really boring, you know ive spent over 5000 hours in minecraft at least, that would easily max my account if i spent that ammount in runescape considering how concentrated all those hours were, its just that although im bored with minecraft and havent played it for a year at least, 3 years since i was active, i would still any day of the week make a 16 by 16 chunk hole to bedrock right now if you wanted me to if it stood between that and playing runescape legit for an hour grinding a skill, it would be better if maxd on runescape was 999 instead and the xp needed was the same. that would make it much better imo.

Bots are easy to solve via Captcha. The real reason no action is taken is they don't really care. Why would they? Bots increase the 'player' base and make them money.
Don't know if you remember back in the day when skilling in RS would cause a random NPC that would aggro you and potentially kill you if you hadn't move from the spot in a while. Maybe Jagex will have to implement something similar that causes the bots to die over and over. This would impact true skillers however and limit their abilities to continue training. Maybe something for Jagex to look into.

Cant really hate these guys for making bots when Jagex does so little to combat it.
RuneScape is an exclusive game in the fact it doesn't allow for realistic grinding, you have to be a hermit and dedicate months just to see the product of your accomplishments. It's honestly not hard to blame the people who bot or try to come up with better ways to grind without staring and a screen for 10+ hours a day.

True I can't lie, I've botted before and have botted/manually trained accounts and just strictly manually trained accounts and the 1 time i botted a skill I got banned and only went from 66 - 70 hunting. Fucked up shit.

the user named S E R P E X is behind the stephen bots on world 301. He scammed me and it was my fault that i trusted him. i met him after that at the GE and wrote in chat "spam (my username)" and all the stephen bots started spam traded me.
edit: Don't really know for sure now that this is the main guy that is behind the bots. Since then I have noticed multiple players commanding them.

This is nothing new, this has been going for years now. The reason why i'm so much against bots is the fact that commited players are forced to spend hundreds of hours to grinding, while bots allow not commited players do everything else than spend their time on grinding. It's unfair towards players who really enjoy the game and achieve hard goals, but those goals mean nothing when bots do the same.
I quit runescape for this reason, why waste my time on a game which is abused by bots so hard and does not grant you any type of feeling of achievement. By achievement i mean building unique accounts which requires hundreds of hours of gameplay.
If Jagex manages to ban all accounts that has been botting, i might return... But as long it goes like this, i just can't bother with the game.

If hypothetically speaking jagex were to ban all bots overnight the playerbase would drop by at least 25%. What do you think that would do to the faith investors have in the company and, as a result, stock prices when they're announcing quarterly player figures?
Jagex and their bosses in China have 0 incentive to ban bots on a major basis.
Botting is like committing a crime and getting away with it. You may have succeeded but you are always looking over your shoulder wondering when your main will get banned. Not worth the stress IMO

@@GRIMHOOD99 And more often than not they use those bots to transfer gold to their main. Most botter's use a VPN to avoid having their bot account linked to their home IP, however Jagex has other mean's of connecting your computer to your account including MAC Address identification as well as DNS identification.
Long story short, unless you are using a computer with a VPN that is in no way connected to your main account, Jagex can draw a link and ban you. Crumb is a good example of this practice, as he botted on an alternative account which caused a full ban of all of his accounts.
Love these type of videos, a suggestion would be to "investigate the dark side of RuneScape". Like bots, rwt, scammers, phishers, other "illegal activities" inside of the game.

if someone is paying to use a bot im more than certain they will tell the creators an issue if theyre being ban, so it would be really easy to come up with a banrate for their bot specifically maybe not all bots but for theirs yeah, so the mod saying its impossible for them to know a certain banrate is a pretty hefty oversight
