First one: the Korean boxer's gold medal was the most undeserving gold medal in history because of home-field advantage. I guess you didn't see the 1984 LA Olympics when Sean O'Sullivan gave Frank Tate 2 standing-8 counts and the judges still gave the gold to Tate. The crowd actually booed when Tate was given the gold medal. Even Tate's coach said O'Sullivan should have won.
2007 NBA playoffs. Spurs were given the championship when the Suns were clearly the best team in the league. I think that was the last season of Donaghy reffing even
That's Why Ray Allen hit that shot on them. Karma for that rigged series. Also the Pistons beating the failed superteam Lakers in 04 was the best thing ever.
I forget what year, but there was an NFL playoff game in the 1990's between the Cowboys and Packers that was clearly fixed in favor of Dallas. Dallas was in the midst of their dynasty with Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, etc...and Green Bay was led by Brett Favre who was in his prime. The refs took away touchdowns from the Packers...one was a kick return called back, the other was a deep touchdown pass (bs holding call). There were several horrible pass interference calls against Green Bay that led to Dallas getting touchdowns. There were so many other bad calls that went against Green Bay that it was impossible for them to win. That was the worst officiated game I have ever seen in any sport. Btw, I was a neutral observer...not a fan of either team.
I'm not arguing games are fixed but that Dallas team was possibly the greatest overall team ever. Once Jimmy got there. Plus I think Favre was point shaving he had Leroy Butler Reggie white and others on defense. He's not stupid but he had so many interceptions at key moments in games he should of won.
I remember that game clearly and remember it being bad but I don't think anything in that SB was as blatant as the end of the Saints/Rams game. A lot of borderline holding calls. The Roehtllisberger TD was really really close but there was no HD back then like there is now so they had to stick with it. I remember a really iffy OPI call that probably shouldn't have been called but I do remember the WR's arm being extended when he didn't need to. A lot of calls that they should have just been letting them play with but nothing as bad as the Saints getting jobbed for the LA team that was about to open a new stadium... and four of the refs were from SoCal. We are talking about a call that made the NFL change rules it was so bad.
@@dmaginnisiv what about that illegal hands to the face that didn't get called against Goff? Did the refs throw the pick in OT? What about the defense letting the Rams drive up the field to kick the FG? Yeah that was total PI on Robey-Coleman but the Saints pouted and whined rather than play.
Don't forget when my Green Bay Packers were screwed by the refs vs the bucs with Brady in the playoffs. Basically gave them the game. Right before the game started it was blatant

They actually called a foul on Bibby. I never recovered from that series. Years later the NFL broke my heart when they let the Rams beat the Saints. I don’t look at sports the same anymore.
Good God I'm sick of hearing how Namath guaranteed a victory for his team prior to the super bowl. Ask any player if they are going to win the super bowl and they will promise you a win. Its not like they would guarantee a loss.
Not sure many people had done it in organized sports before. Maybe some boxers have and I suppose you could call Babe Ruth's called shot a guarantee but I am pretty sure it was pretty big when it happened. Just because every schmo like some long snapper for Rutgers might do it today doesn't mean it wasn't big news when in happened back then.
Glad to see a video not include the ultimate NFL Mandela effect with Super Bowl 40 and actually show some truly erroneous calls, rather than 1 bad call and MAYBE 1 offsetting in an 11 point loss.
Because taking away a championship is a hollow attempt to penalize. The games happened. We all saw them. They played out how they played out. It's like all those games the Fab 5 Michigan team was forced to "forfeit" retroactively. So what? Anyone who cared saw the games and isn't going to un-see them because some dudes in suits made a decision.
Keep in mind that Houston got half their World Series wins in Los Angeles, where there was no trash can banging possible. Finally, someone points out something fishy happened with Super Bowl III. Consider that 2 weeks earlier the Colts beat the Browns, the only team they lost to in regular season, 34 - 0, in Cleveland in typical bad winter conditions, and yet they barely scored one touchdown in sunny Miami weather. So many plays by the Colts offence during SBIII went completely against their normal performance. The most obvious was the flea flicker. Receiver Jimmy Orr was wide open by design and QB Morrall instead threw the pass directly to the Jets secondary. Years later, Bubba Smith said when he took a taxi to his hotel after the game, the cab driver recognized him and admitted he got word the day before that the fix was in. The cabbie added that he made $200 on the game.

Verifiably false. Just no. They had so many free throws because a crooked ref threw the games to the Lakers. The NBA wanted the Lakers to win and cheated to do it. Shaq elbowed Scott Pollard and Vlade every time in the paint and never got called for it. Hack-A-Shaq was a late game strategy for teams at this point but that was not the case in this series. Pollard fouled out in 11 minutes and Shaq couldn’t be touched the entire series without a foul called. One simply needs to rewatched the series to see how blatantly awful the officiating was. The series between the Lakers and Sixers was also rigged, although they weren’t as good as the Kings so the cheating was more subtle. This isn’t me hating on the Lakers, but they were not the best team that year and it’s clear to anyone who knows anything about basketball who watched the actual games

Not accepting the silver medal was such a bad-ass move.
Pittsburgh v Seattle Super Bowl much worse officiated than the Saints Rams game.
I highly recommend the film Eight Men Out to those who haven’t seen it. Very underrated.
Drunk History did a bit as well.
Don't forget when my Green Bay Packers were screwed by the refs vs the bucs with Brady in the playoffs. Basically gave them the game. Right before the game started it was blatant

Yup, same with ravens vs niners Super Bowl, same with kings/lakers, plus warriors Cavs 2016. Bron was gifted that one.
If you think these are the only rigged games, you are naïve.
I don’t know how Houston got away with it and then didn’t get the championship taken away. 🤔
The Astros said at the time that Yu Darvish was tipping pitches and who did the Astros pummel in two of their wins? Yu Darvish. Then you add Clayton Kershaw's famous postseason meltdowns and it's easy to see why Houston won without the funny business.
Yes just like the Lakers need their 2002 championship taken away.

The 1972 Olympic Basketball final was not rigged. This was what happened:
- Soviet Union called for timeout in between free throws, scorer's table hits horn
- Second free throw made, 00:03 remaining
- Time out not granted, ball inbounded, personnel from scorer's table runs onto the court immediately claiming that a timeout had been called, play stopped
- Referees confer, realize that time out had been called and overlooked by referees, USSR given the ball out of bounds after the timeout
- Mistake by timeskeeper results in 00:50 being shown on the clock, buzzer sounds a half second after ball is inbounded
- Mistake corrected, USSR given the ball out of bounds with 00:03 remaining
- USSR scores on a layup and wins the game

The cabbie added that he made $200 on the game.
not starting Unitas was fix enough

For the youngins ,Lakers had so many free throws because hack-a-shaq. Every team was doing it
Verifiably false.
