Something to note is that I use no delay on any of my guitar tracks when recording Van Halen. From what I have been able to figure out over the years is that reverb was used on most of the 1970s & 1980s records. I like this approach and sound so much that now I refuse to use delay on anything.

Great job getting the tap harmonics at the end right - so many transcriptions of this over the years have those as normal picked notes.
Thanks Ryan! I try to get everything as close to what Ed played as possible. I isolate the guitar tracks then listen over and over again until I figure it out.

When I first started playing Live without a Net was the way I learned to play a lot of VH stuff. That video was the RUclips of today.

I’ve always loved this solo because of the simplicity of it…..and the huge pick harmonic @2:55 in the studio recording. You did awesome……it’s not easy to play anywhere close to EVH, but you’re one of the few who can do it.
