If Estaque's gimmick was that its basic attacks targeted the furthest unit in range, I reckon it would see a lot more use in the mech team. They really need some more proper backline killers.
Estaque's basic attack actually has a passive that makes it target the furthest unit in range If it did not have the passive, Estaque would be a lot worse than it is.
@@Torusel Wait, it does that? I've never felt like it ever hit anyone other than their frontline. I tried to use it multiple times and it just always felt beyond underwhelming. It's probably because it'll stop moving the moment it detects an enemy, which will always be the frontline. So new idea, when it detects an enemy it enters its firing stance and gains +30% range, so now it can actually hit people behind the frontline lmao

Due to it's range being shorter than most snipers it tends to target the frontline, where having lowest DPS of SSR Snipers in the game makes Estaque quite underwhelming when bombarding the frontline. When dropped next to the frontline, Estaque will be able to hit Rangers/Supporters but still be unable to hit most Snipers. This is still difficult to do this as Estaque is easily knocked back, where it will target the frontline after that. A consistent defensive strategy is to use Titan to hold the frontline close to the ship, and deploy Estaque right behind him. Being so close to the ship, Estaque will not be able to be knocked back as it is already at the edge of the arena, allowing it to keep in range of the Ranger/Supporter backline. I like the idea of increasing Estaque's range in siege mode. It would be great if Estaque could be improved.
It's Titan's unique equipment. You can get one copy for free by completing his Counter Case story. I do not recommend using Set binaries on it however, instead only using it if it comes with a good set bonus. Hope you get a good one

AlwAys love seeing estaque. The current Estaque is fine but they need to give it a longer range and hitstun immunity when its in the shooting stance.
