  • A few old photos of the Church Parades that were popular during the 1900s in Scarborough, during the season. These photos were all taken in front of, or near to, 22 Esplanade, South Cliff. You can see the Crown Hotel in the background. They were called Church Parades because it was usually a Sunday when these walkabouts took place. It is said that a lot of them didn`t actually have anything to do with the Church as it was basically an excuse to get dressed up in your Sunday best and go promenading.
