The homemade elevator is operated by electric mini wire rope hoist, it has two custom made mechanical safety features working simultaneously with each other, either one fails the other one holds the cabin intact.
Ist - double pin locking system on either side of the passenger cabin, whenever the main hoist rope accidentally breaks the dual safety pins automatically locks on either side of the columns safety stoppers flats.
2nd - secondary wire rope hanging from the top has a safety catch device which automatically triggers & holds the cabin instantly.
Before installing this homemade elevator it took years of research on mockups, trails & also I made a small lift on how the safety locking device works on cabin, I took every precaution N safety before putting my family members on risk, once again thanks for your comments N views

So many negative comments, what's wrong with the elevator when you use the materials that can hold tons of weight and only few kg of people to travel. Are they expecting to buy expensive setup from corporate owners?
Very true. Trying to frighten people and push for insane exorbitant and fancy lifts
If you post a negative comment, suggest a solution also. Every new trial will have scope for improvement.
What u can do about dt.leave it. Anyway, d couple is good . If d man made it, dn he is creative enough . Good luck to him .

At the ground level, the lady was finding it hard to get on the elevator. You could think of providing a step so that she finds climbing comfortable. Good idea of DIY elevator. This may be an idea borrowed from Elevator used in construction site.
High Risk, Don't ever buy or Install any elevators like this... Not recommended... Anytime any thing can be failed & your life can be in Trouble

Without knowing a capacity of electrical hoist how do you conclude it is risk. As it is in open space, even if power off it is safer than completely closed lift.
First of all wait for the time.. if you were a supplier of this product then you are going to be screwed sooner..
Second you are asking me question about electrical hoist .!! You tell me what are the safety measurements you have taken?
Very basic questions I will ask.. is this product complying to IS Norms??
What about basic safety on floor above than ground?? What if some kid put his hand inside then lift well & all of a sudden elevator arrive.. now you will tell that your Car operating unit is having stop button.. ok let it be.. what if that unit got failed??

This is after all a diy project. No body manufacture and sell this type of lift. It take max 2 persons. Less than 150 kgs to lift just 15 feet maximum.

Ground floor end of elevator landing portion atleast one car tyre (old one) should provide .incase if any rope cut or motor failed it will not hit the floor and vibration can avoid. Like a simple cussing action.
This is for luggage , but not to load much .....very useful

Dangerous crap. Better buy safety one.....or walk healthy by climbing stairs. What if the system breaks or halts or roller bushes moves away.....dont experiment this with humans. Use this for sending construction materials at the max. Period.
Very very very nice work . Also can connect some v small circuit to check d health of dt mechine that might be needed after 10 years . D breaking sys is good so u don't need circuit but it is a good practice to make thing better .

This is very dangerous. This is good to transport goods. This is called a dumb waiter elevator to transport food for 3 storey restaurants and banquet halls.
Just thinks if the other person accidentally strict there arm out between the floors. Ouch!!

This is stupid. If someone was underneath like a child, they will be crushed or fall in and die. What kind of fool makes stuff like this? Nothing to be proud of when it's not safe.

My sympathies to low gyan people who don't understand it is ILLEGAL to fabricate and use uncertified elevators. It not bendi ka baaji..to make at home..

No! I could throw just about the whole code book at this death trap. Try installing this thing in a place that enforces codes and the AHJ will shut the power off your facility until you remove it.

I could electrically wire up a house with baling wire but that wouldn’t meet code either now would it. It would be just a matter of time before the house caught on fire or someone got electrocuted from the exposed wiring.
I’ve been in this industry for 40 years and have seen my fair share of deaths from elevators far safer than this death trap. Have fun explaining why you were selling this thing to the judge and jury when it doesn’t even come close to A17.1 elevator codes.
This looks like a standard construction elevator. It can't drop down unless the motor is powered.
@@kize32 Really? "It can't drop down"??? What makes you say that? Do you see the Broken Wire Rope safeties anywhere? What will happen if the brakes fail? What will happen if gearbox fails? What will happen if any part of the hoisting mechanism fails like hitch plate, wire ropes, connectors? I have seen plenty elevators that have fallen because of similar circumstances. Believe me. This thing is dangerous.
