I've got one of these, the red light didn't come on because of the charcoal dust because the dust sensor is on the front of the control panel, (those little holes that look like a mini speaker cover) it came on because in senses crap in the air even though you said the air was clean, I love mine BTW!
"I am a wireless engineer, I should be the advocate for everything being connected to Wi-Fi and I'm not." This made me laugh because it's all too true. From a software security and data privacy perspective, web-connected household devices are a nightmare!
Great Vik, Kathy and I were just looking at that exact one a couple of days ago for same reason, our wood stove like you said about opening the door to put wood in.
Location of the unit is key, Uncle Al. We are still experimenting with the one in the house, but I find that right now I'm adjusting it manually (fan level up / down) more. I believe it is just because of the location - have to move it around a little more to see.
Great video! Thank you so much. May I ask if you know how much is a complete filter replacement and what size of room can it clean? A follow up video on performance after a month or so would also he great👍
It’s showing red as your room is dusty and or has VOC in the air.The sensors are on outside not the inside so it will have nothing to do with shipping dust on carbon filter.Your room will have a ton of VOC in it.
Any updates? How are you liking it. I JUST ordered a 5300-2 and 5500-2. To my knowledge. Those 2 models do not produce (O3) ozone. That comes from models with the UV Light.
This is made in SOUTH KOREA! For THAT reason alone I bought TWO of these as well as one from Honeywell their HPA300 (a larger unit for living room and dining room with kitchen etc)
Recently bought a WINNIX 5500 for my daughter. It is an amazingly effective filter system. 👍👍👍👍
I just bought one. Cleaned up my air quickly. Far more of a difference that I expected.
That is awesome! I've been really happy with mine; you'll have to let us know how you like it after a few months.

It looks like the carbon one would filter participates and not just gas. I bought 2 yesterday from Amazon prime and am looking forward to running them
Luv my Winix 5500-2 ✔️✔️

About $54 @ amazon
Like it! Want to hear your updates on it
Great product review!
If you are going to spend 600.00 I would buy an Austin purifier but the winix 5500-2 is great for 160.00.

Makes sense - thx, chefgav1!
Does the jingle remind you of the McDonald’s jingle?
I love this machine

I'll be doing an update later this week. Really happy with it overall
where is this Winix made? Hopefully not China
almost everything is made in china... so good luck with that
