After seeing your review about the Sony turntable and buying it like almost 2 years ago i also copped these speakers in black, they match soooo well together
Sounds like an epic setup! Glad it is working for you!
Oh cool these were some of my first speakers that I bought when getting into Vinyl I loved these
And they're still good to this day! Thanks for watching.
gifted them to a friend who was starting their vinyl journey when i did an upgrade of my setup
Appreciate this video. Me and my girlfriend watched this and she ended up getting this setup for my birthday. Sounds incredible and your video helped narrow down what we were looking for.
Glad to hear it!!
Cool i orderd one of them. Im glad that they are so good.
I -Live markets a bargain AT mag cartridge phono that has its own pre-amp. It also has a 3-speed switching capability that makes it comparable to the vintage Garrards and BSR's that remain available today. I hooked up my Edifier to a 4 function a/v switcher box to utilize the phono along with a Rolls mini FM tuner, 1980's TEAC cassete deck, and 2001 Sony cd/dvd player. All sound great through the Edifier's integrated amp.
@nloop what would your advisory treble and bass setting be for the optimal range for the edifiers?
I think they are they best speakers ever... seriously astounding
I bought them used for 30 euro they are in new condition. They are really nice, love the warm sound that they produce. I also have the Edifier S2000mkiii (200 euro used in new condition with warranty) which are of course a step up, but these S1280DB are really nice for the price and have a certain sound that is enjoyable to listen to. The bass is surprisingly low. The treble should be turned all the way up for more clarity.
@@luca_rr4660 30 euros? I got them for 109 and i think they are worth more than double of that..
I bought a set of used S1280DB for 30 euro they are in new condition! They are really nice, they have a surprisingly low bass. The treble should be turned all the way up to max for more clarity.
I also have the Edifier S2000mkiii (200 euro used in new condition with warranty) which are of course a step up, but these S1280DB are really nice for the price and they produce a sound that is enjoyable to listen to.
I have the audio technica and these speakers!!! They’re the BEST.
2:58 what are the authors plugins your leaving empty for? I am trying to get speakers for my Crosley Aria that are compatible
Thanks for the video. Can you connect a turntable and cd player to those Edifier speakers?
Hi! i heard about Microlab B77T. They are much cheaper and sound decent to. Do you have any review of those?
Got my AT-LPW40WN today. Thinking of Edifier D12 or S1000MKII what do you suggest? I'm a beginner lol
I am definitely gonna be buying these once I buy my auto technica record player!
How did you rig up to your technica ?
Can you turn on and off the bluetooth so the speaker dont get paired up with something randomly?
My turntable only has aux input, could these speakers work with some sort of adapter ??
Hi
I love your content. Im in the loop of geting my first turntable and powered speakers. Been looking at Edifier for some time now but i found the Kanto yu6. By getting them i can get rid of the soundbar and subwoofer i use at the TV atm.
I just gotta find out what turntable to get 😂
Actually been looking at the lp60xbt, but i really want a white turntable.
Much love from Sweden
Oh and also, I listen alot to hiphop, edm and rock. So I need both bass and clarity since the mix I listen too
Thanks for your comments! I have some reviews of turntables on my channel, but if you want a white one, there's some good options out there. THe Fluance RT81 has a piano white version that looks gorgeous. In fact, I was contemplating picking one up to review it, would be a few weeks before I could do that though.
Another speaker you may like that would service your needs for hip-hop & edm are the Klipsch R-51PM's, they are twice the price of these Edifier's but still cheaper than the Kanto YU6's you mentioned! I have a video about those in the works now.
@@nloop Thanks for the fast reply, much appreciated. I've been looking at the Klipsch but everything needs to be white to match the rooms astetchics (yeah i know, im such a dork) :D
The fluance series of turntables has been under my radar aswell, problem is getting it from Canada will be extremely expensive since im in the EU. I havent found a retailer on this side of the ocean. I have been looking at the RT82 or even the RT83
Looking forward to more content from you, lovin´ it :D
thanks
I love the content and quality man! I just got my first turntable a few day ago for my birthday. I got the Sony PS - LX310BT.
I'm looking for speakers that can balance between rap (Ex. Tyler The Creator) and Classic Rock (Elton John). Do you think the Edifier is the best option?
Happy bday and congrats on your turntable. I love that one!
I think Edifier is the best option for this price range, especially since Tyler uses bass to great effect. I would say if you have more budget to spare, there’s some incredible other options but the price would be much higher. I have a video on those coming out next week, or check out the speaker review comparison on my channel for a better idea! You can’t go wrong either way
The R1380bt has Bluetooth APTX, aren't they better than the R1280db?
Can you make a recommendation for someone just getting in but who doesnt wanna sacrifice sound quality. really looking for something in the 300$ range. I also would love to know what you think about a bluetooth reciever set up with alexa for vinyls and if its a good, bad, or doesnt matter kind of decision. Thank in advance. also, great video btw
I wanna delete this comment since i made it before the video ended lmfaooooo
Lol no worries, thanks for watching to the end! Stay tuned, next week I’ll have a full video on the Klipsch R-51PM’s which may be exactly what you’re looking for.
What abiut just for tv watching shows and movies?
Do the R1280T and the R1280DB speakers have the same audio quality? Is there any noticeable difference in the sound when both plugged into a record player?
The only difference is bluetooth. And analog audio (aka plugged in) will always be better than bluetooth!
@@nloop ok so I should just save money and buy the R1280T. Because I was gonna use wired anyways but I was only considering the DBS bc I heard they had better audio frequency and like better bass or something, I guess not?
@@panther_- They are going to sound the exact same!
@@nloop ok good thank you 💯🙌🏻
@@nloop actually they don't at all "sound exactly the same"
Would this work well with my AT LP120XUSB? Thanks!
They are frigen amazing, best speakers I have ever had .. bose can go f itself
I recently got these paired with the Sony vinyl player. Can you tell me how to pair them I’m struggling.
I'm guessing you've figured this out since it's been 2 months, but the bluetooth is so you can pair devices like your cellphone, or maybe a tv. Most if not all record players will require you to use cables to connect the speakers.
can u compare this with the rt1700bt? btw nice video!
I have them before, can say, in this difference of price, rt1280 have great sound, but if u want more clarity and more powerful deep bass rt1700 or higher is your choice (played them on Topping DX3 Pro with custom power, they were awesome in Flac albums playing, dream setup)
@@hazed0m oh damn, thanks for the info brother! appreciate it
But how to connect them?I am really dumb please someone tell me?Nothing happens I tried all colourful cables?I have audio technic lp60
Same Lol
Is difficult connecting?
good speakers
Hi, Im super new to this hobby. Pardon me as I'm a little confused - these have BT functionality but still need to be plugged into a power source to be powered, even if i hook these up to a Bluetooth turntable, right? These dont have a built-in battery like normal BT speakers?
These are not portable speakers .
The BT functionality exists solely as a convenience for people who wish to play music without the hassle of physically and manually plugging their speaker-setup into something else .
@@eldritchagent9625 right... So I'd still need power from DC mains to juice em
@@TF2ReplayMaker Correct .
Is it possible to connect a any subwoofer on that unit?
Make sure you're getting model R1280DB"S" it has a port specifically for your sub!
Edifier R1280DB Speaker Volume resets after a power off-power on; Is that supposed to happen?
How is that a problem?
What do you think about the Klipsch r50m in the same price range?
You are talking about the r1280bd but on video you are showing the r1280t model.🤔
nothing is impossible
R1280DBs is better has a output for subwoofer
Agreed!
Why is it so hard to add a sub input smh
My understanding is that it's pretty difficult to come by subwoofer ports for these budget bookshelf speakers. Speakers in the next price bracket have more options in this department! Making a video about one of them right now.
@@nloop I figured it was a cost thing I just didn’t know it was that difficult or expensive.
@@carlossantiago6642 For what it's worth, I have not felt the need to add a subwoofer to my main setup because the built-in woofers are really powerful.
@@nloop dude I’m a bassaholic it’s hard to come back from that. If you could see my other setups you’d understand haha.
@@carlossantiago6642 Ayyy I get it! Trust me, for EDM & Hip-Hop I would love to one day add a sub so I can really feel the sound waves. It's why I go to concerts all the time. Just waiting for the right time!
I need a sub I want some bass
Since theses are blue speakers the review would have been better based on blue tooth
The Bluetooth is fine, but since I focused on the vinyl experience analog made the most sense. Pairing is very easy and the quality is good. But it won’t be anywhere near as good as a direct cable hook up
I dont believe you.
I have them. Trust me.
@@miguelmelchior986 okay, I'll check them out
@@miguelmelchior986you must know a guy.
I just got them. Tbh they sound extremely well for the price.
Try them then
i watched the video to set up not for a yap fest
since it has the volume knobs does that mean i dont need a reciver because my turn table has build in amp
Yep, as mentioned in the video, it has its own built in amp so you don't need a receiver!
