  • 1989 news story by Reece Stein, KUTV (Utah), about the tax issues facing the Heber Creeper. The railroad would go out of business a year later, and then was revived under state ownership in 1993. The grounds and most of the locomotives, cars, and buildings shown were not included when the state took over operation of the railroad, which it renamed the Heber Valley Railroad.

    Such a sad time for utah. If they listened maybe we would still have the shays and the old steam switchers. But im glad its still running today.

    Wonder where 35 went after Heber shut down for 3 years?

      Boulder City, Nevada where it is at static display in the Nevada Southern Railroad Museum collection.
