    Finally a "real beginner" video! I bought some rings a couple of months ago, and I want to be able to do a pull up by the end of the year. This is a great progression! Thank you so much! 💜

      Awesome! Yes it almost seems so simple but until someone points it out the rings can look so intimidating!!

    Definitely the best explanation that not only gives results but also keeps you from injuries. The slow way is the fastest in the long run. Don’t miss the “go down to 5 repetitions each set” after achieving 10 repetitions in the previous level.
    Also try to ignore the legs that support you if you want to achieve better results. Your body WILL try to use the legs instead of your hands/shoukders, don’t let him🙂.

    Very useful, I've been helping myself with legs but didn't think of using toes as a progression method to reduce leg usage. Thanks!

    Cheers Jenni and Tom. Too many ‘beginner’ tutorials out there assuming you can already do a ton of reps with perfect form. SMM T shirt arrived and looks ACE! Pretty sure it makes you lift more too.. :)

    Nice one! Thanks Tom. Looks like I've got some time and work to put but it looks fun. Looking forward to it. Just have to remember to pace things and not break myself. 😂

    This is great. I've flirted with pull ups before but probably tried to 'run before I can walk' and always end up leaving them for a while. That was with a bar across the door frame but I've now got the rings and with the help of this video will work at them.

    Excellent tutorial! I’m new to rings but not pull movements, having used a TRX and done banded pull ups. I can see how your progressions will work for me. How often would you suggest doing this type of workout, Tom?

    • @TomMorrison
      @TomMorrison  2 года назад +3

      Thanks so much! Depends on how often you have really!! I would be on the rings most days, but definitely to get the most out of them I would say 3 times per week, they cover so many angles and strengths they’re worth the extra time 💪🏼💪🏼

    • @anniwilson2534
      @anniwilson2534 2 года назад +1

      @@TomMorrison thank you! 3 x per week is doable. I like the feel of more natural hand / shoulder position for pull ups than using a bar. Playing around on the rings earlier I did my first tuck to inversion and managed to straighten my legs up … I’m hooked! 🙃

    Tom where did you get the equipment I'm think to make something like that in my garden

    • @TomMorrison
      @TomMorrison  2 года назад +2

      Custom built from a friend, concrete and big ass posts and some bars is all you need but I’m useless with anything DIY so had to get a friend to do it for me lol

    What is the point of turning the rings outwards on the top of the ring dip? Thanks!!!

    • @TomMorrison
      @TomMorrison  2 года назад

      It’s a full support position, way harder to stabilise too, really good for the elbows long term when you get good at it 😄

    Can you do this in a doorway from a bar

    • @TomMorrison
      @TomMorrison  3 года назад +1

      Seen some people use doorframe ones yes, just make sure it’s good and secure and if you’re pulling at different angles the bar doesn’t come off the frame 😄
