I believe that audits are supposed to be about educating and standing up for our freedom. The old term less is sometimes more comes to mind as you say it's your right to conduct yourself how you choose. I just hope we don't lose our rights in the process of entertaining just my opinion.

I believe the appropriate term is "unlawful detainment" but I am sure the Blackbelt Barrister would be happy to comment further.
If they had no legal basis to detain him and DID refuse to let him out when he asked, they'd be committing false imprisonment.

The Laws of Photography, state anyone can film anything, from publicly assessable areas, I hope this Policemen does not bankrupt the funds of his Chief Constable, and follows the Advisers from the Metropolitan Police, sent to every Police force, entitled P for PHOTOGRAPHY, AUDITORS and BLOGGERS

I was watching a police audit on another channel, and the algorithm redirected me here. I'm not a fan of this kind of content. I understand auditing police since they work for the public, but bothering a business for reactions, which are pretty much expected, isn't something I enjoy. I believe most people just want to know what's happening, and interrupting their work isn't right, in my opinion. I think anyone being filmed by a stranger at their place of work, especially if the filmer is wearing a hood, hat, and glasses, and has cameras all over them, will naturally react and ask if they can help. And of course, you'll always respond with "because I can," which seems like a baiting tactic for a reaction, topped off by throwing a few laws into the mix. Yes, it's publicly accessible, but that doesn't necessarily make it morally right. I fear someday an auditor will probably get a reaction they do not want; if someone were to punch them or drag them off-site, I guarantee that the police would be called by the auditor, even though they despise them so much.

According to the Blackbelt barrister, GDPR applies to all individuals, capturing faces or regs, unless you can use the journalistic or public interest defences. Sooner or later I reckon someone will test that definition and defence in a formal legal action.
Most Auditors are classed as Citizen Journalists, so his defence on GDPR would be easy fought. Lots of grey areas in GDPR.

GDPR relates to private data stored for the reasons of the entity storing the information. If I build a customer database I must ensure that its contents are not released for public scrutiny, but if i list the registration numbers of cars that I see pass under the pedestrian bridge near my home that doesn't identify any private information.
Of course BBB will hedge his bets, in the event of a trial the solicitors and barristers representing both sides will tell their clients that they have a strong case but the only real winners are the members of the legal profession, even if they lose the case.
