    Everyone who grows food needs to save their own seeds. Every tomato that you harvest can have the seeds squeezed out and put in water for 3 days, and then rinsed and dried for future years. Leave 10 leeks over winter and let them go to seed the next year. Beans and peas, so simple just leave the last 10% of the pods to go to seed. Just make a start and start saving seeds now. Then once you have yours, swap with friends and family. Set up seed circles.

    Question: why are farmers stuck contracting with supermarkets.. what happened to farmers seling to a central place and the central place then selling to all shops that wanted it ? We started purchasing veg, eggs and meats from farm shops instead of supermarkets.. we are slowly moving more purchasing over to farms where possible.

    You might have to set aside a part of your garden, probably in the middle somewhere, and create a wilderness of wildflowers there so that the bees will come, and then pollinate your garden. Regarding citrus fruit, in Queen Vic's day, they used to bring oranges over to UK. It would've been very slow travel by the seas compared to today, and the fruit arrived nice and fresh, without Apeel or herbicides & wax. So, obviously it's possible. The sailors were allowed to eat a percentage of the citrus so as to prevent scurvy.

    Cleaver way to test your eggs is to put them in a tall glass of water. Fresh eggs sink to the bottom and, as it ages, starts floating. Month old egg should be float on the top.

    I was vegan for 7 years but have recently reintroduced eggs from my own hens, local honey and organic butter. I still don’t want to eat meat but have always respected people’s rights to do so. If the government continues to push their sick food agenda, I would sooner eat meat I’d cared for myself than eat the poison they seem intent on pushing on us.

    Funny that you mentioned eggs and vegans. My sister is a vegan and she called eggs a chicken's period 😂😂😂. I told her that they will lay an egg most days anyway and that occasionally they might eat them themselves, but most of them would just be trodden into the ground and wasted.

    A lot of people in this country DONT want halal meat which is barbaric

    • @jazzylyn5857
      @jazzylyn5857 2 месяца назад

      That is just another money-making scam for the halal corporates. Even some loo roll, Durex, toothpaste, bread etc etc is halal these days. Lolz. But WE have to pay a few extra pence per item for the pleasure of having the halal symbol on the packet. People think it's just meat, but nope, it's everything. And it makes me laugh that they sell halal stuff in a supermarket. No true muslim would buy halal meat, for instance, in a supermarket because the chain is tainted by us infidels, i.e. driven to the warehouse by a non-muslim, unpacked by a non-muslim, stacked in the cool fridges by a non-muslim, gone through the checkout by a non-muslim. The whole point of halal, supposedly, is that it is never touched by a non-muslim as that then makes the item haram and not halal. Like I said, money-making scam.

Also going back to food not growing my tomatoes this year are not growing and have produced very little fruit.
