Things are definitely coming to a head. Whether it will be the conflict in the east, unrest at home or political turmoil across in the States that hits first I don't know. I think we'll all be glad of our preps before long. Hoping I'm wrong, but I don't believe in coincidences either. I didn't sense you passing through our little corner of the country! Dover crossings this time of year can certainly be entertaining.

Worked on the Dover ferries for over 35 yrs living on board them . Yes sleeping is difficult in rough weather but the fog horn going off was what kept me awake 😢

They want to keep us in fear. We are energy. Don't give in to the fear, they feed off it. We are easier to control if we're in a state of fear. Humans will do things they wouldn't normally do if they're scared, like having half a dozen jibby jabbies or stopping yourself from breathing properly because they said it would keep you safe. All we can do is hope for the best and plan for the worst, as far as possible. And all of us here are doing just that. I only check news stuff out a couple of times a week now, just to keep informed, but then I put it aside because I refuse to live in a state of fear. Just remember, the media lies, things are not always what they seem. Peace x

Glad that you’re safely back home. I’ve only ever had one Channel crossing in rough seas and never want to experience it again. 🤢 We’ve had a lovely break from all the worry this weekend and celebrated my granddaughter’s christening. As well as adding long life milk to my preps last week, I wondered if anyone could recommend the best powdered whole egg. I’ve never used it and not sure which brand to chose x

Thanks for the update 👍 we are prepared with enough food, water and emergency supplies which isnt a small job for a family of 5 and lily the Greyhound 😅 but luckily for us my husband is a very organised man 😊. Lily has lots of tins of sardines and rice in her emergency cupboard so she'll be fine lol 😆🐶 ❤

It's not really just the news, it's actually staring at the phone too close to bedtime, too. Glad you're ok in your area for water and actual flooding, here on the west coast Wales weve not really had any problems from the storms, it just felt like our regular winter a bit early. I do feel for you on a ferry in this storm. I used to work on sea-bed survey ships in the North Sea, and saw some wild weather up there.

I don’t believe in coincidence either. Atm I can’t keep up with what’s happening so have taken a step backwards and watching it and waiting as at some point it make make itself clear. I’m glad you had a break. I’m still preparing as I can and when I can . But I have personal been very unwell this last week- worse then usual and not out the other side yet. Have food I need to sort and get prepared but feel too I’ll to do anything so for now I will just do what I must and can go and then get back to the rest.

Don't waste time worrying about or trying to figure out things that you have no control over, live is far too short 🙂 We just need to keep on prepping and planning about the things that we can control. Glad that you and Dan had a goodish trip

Sorry about your cold, I was fearful about the floods. All of Wales has been in prayer. Oh, the world is a horror. Very surprised that it only takes 500W of solar, does it give a recharge time using solar ? For me the fact that the display doesn't appear to turn off would be a no go for running my CPAP as a UPS in the bedroom. I have a small "hotel" kettle that will do from a cup up to a litre and is only 250 - 1000W so a good add to a power out kit if you have no other means of making a hot drink

OK, my curtains have now melted , 3 large rats are feasting on my rice filled draught excluder, and the top corners of my 75 inch TV have poked 2 1 foot holes in my tent and I've broken both legs waking downstairs in my sleeping bag . ☹️

Hi Ana, I found that fresh potatoes pulled straight out of the ground make beautiful golden chips and crisps, older ones seem to look and taste a little burned, I’m guessing that is the starch turning to sugar. Does dehydrating them prevent the starch turning to sugar? 🥰
