That’s awful parenting - it’s neglect and setting a kid up for failure. Good parenting would set your kid up for success and let them know about insurance - having them call up find out how much and then having the kid get a job and save money so when his birthday comes he’s set up. Not letting his friends come over to wash a car you know you’re going to sell that’s just mean.
