Looks like a water landing takes some special skills. Really well done. I’m sure that water can punish you pretty quickly if you don’t touch down just right.
I would love to fly onto a lake like this. Freedive to the bottom. Maybe spearfish some dinner. Fly back home to cook it. Just seems like a really good day.
Man I saw that 1st but of water and I was like oh snap boy got skills if he landing there. Then I was a little disappointed that I was wrong. Then I was like oh squirrel. Then I was was focusing on the scenery which is pretty awesome throughout. Then I was like he stuck the landing. Then the video ended. Then I was like aw.
I heard what sounded like a stall horn as well. I question whether it actually was the stall warning because the pitch attitude was decidely nose-down and shallow turn, so it seems improbable it was a stall condition.
First part of video before lake is in sight the airspeed is 60; later when much lower and lake first comes into sight (video time - 59 seconds) airspeed is 85 ?????
@@-Thrud- I taught my students to maintain airspeed well above the stalling speed until it was necessary to slow to appropriate approach speed. In the mountainous terrain of Eastern Kentucky and West Virginia where steep approaches to short runways in narrow valleys were quite common, I instructed how to make a steep approach at safe, moderate airspeed. Excess airspeed that results in floating is not an option on short runways.
Looks funny that the runway is water :) I suspect it's possible to make a light inexpensive sleek fast twin jet that can also land on water without pontoons or any other compromise to its shape. imagine taking off from remote lakes yet still have the capability to go transatlantic at high speed. And LSA affordable. It's doable.
Perfect approach and landing, and then step taxiing all the way up the lake. Like the man said--bad ass. It's all about energy management. Well done.
Amazing scenery.

Beautiful country and a lovely flying experience. No need for any in-flight entertainment here 👍
I know nothing about flying, but that is an awesome glacial valley if ever I saw one.
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous view! What a fantastic flight! This is Flying!
So glad they finally opened up Colorado to seaplanes! Nice video!
I don't think they have yet. This is in WA state.
Wow, what a beautiful place!
Happy flying, stay safe!
Nice touch down! Couldn’t ask for a calmer lake…
Wow what a gorgeous day for flying
That’s the coolest thing I have seen in a while.
here's the viewer controlled version. In 5k too.

This is your pilot speaking. In the event that we land on water, don’t panic. That’s our destination. (Awesome video).
Awesome views I've seen a lot of footage from drones and it's beautiful but for you guys you're the drone. What a view
Absolutely stunning! Any videos of the takeoff and climb out?
there should be some on channel somewhere.
@@-Thrud- Yes, I ended up finding many more great videos. Subscribed!
Wow! Looks real.
Brings back memories of my LA4-200.
How beautiful, I hope there's good fishing there.then u get to grill out also
WHAT A GORGEOUS PLACE!!!
Nice landing!
Just wonderful! 👌👌
Amazing Job !
What a beautiful lake.....
Beautiful sight.
Also pray there are no "sinkers" just below the surface, ready to take out a float.

Stunning

trip of a lifetime
that was beautiful.
"Ladies and gentlemen, in the unlikely event of a water landing, the pilots keys are equipped with a flotation device".
How awesome
TOB baby ! (for PIC, another day in the front office)
Awesome!
:furiously looking for floatplanes for sale on barnstormers:
Have you found one yet?
@@bluskytrvlr lol no, my Maule keeps me plenty busy. But I'll admit that floats sure look awesome!
Mine’s for sale ! But keep in mind the aircraft in this video is a seaplane.
@@savagecub i have a Buccaneer and it is a Flying Boat!
😊😊😊
What a sweet job
Gotta try this in Microsoft Flight Simulator lol
I liked this one-different
What addons are you using - awesome graphics
Aah crap forgot my gun. Wait here I’ll be right back.
I think I could even land on that runway 😃
Should we be concerned about updrafts?
Love it !!
What a horrifying approach. I want to see the take off.
I gotta get me one of those
Yeah that was cool
here is the whole approach ruclips.net/video/jjX2siF4TaA/видео.html
Nice
Sweet...👍👍
I'm glad Captain Sum Ting Wong couldn't make this flight.
It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a boat!
Is it still called landing if you do it on a lake? Maybe watering?
Dam you got a good PC! You SLI 3090's? /wink
With all that timber industry a partially submerged log will eventually end in misery.
What type of fish are in that lake?
Waooo nice
Wow
Note to self: visit this place and shoot the same approach in MSFS.
here is a viewer-controlled version ruclips.net/video/OxrByDvDFBU/видео.html
I feel like I'm there.
BAD ASS
Wow
Where is this?
holy shit
As a single engine land guy, this just looks wrong lol
Oh my Goodness
How the heck do you climb out of there and over the mountains?
The way out is in the thumbnail
What is the T handle the pilot is holding in the center of the windshield?
The throttle is on the roof because the engine is on the roof.
This is cool I need to go to bed 🛌
That was way cool.
awesome. but no one gonna mention the speed coming over the mountain ridge at low altitude with a quick stall horn...
such is the way when you need to shallow out your approach path with a tight obscured turn coming up
I heard what sounded like a stall horn as well. I question whether it actually was the stall warning because the pitch attitude was decidely nose-down and shallow turn, so it seems improbable it was a stall condition.
Good fishing?
Others say yes. I don't have the attention span to fish.
pretty scary with the stall horn chirping over the ridge through 60kts...
it was a small updraft burp of air as i was starting my dive.
@@-Thrud- - I was wondering why it went off too, but that makes sense. Thanks for the statement and explanation both 🍻
Was that Sully again??
How do I hitch a ride
Where is lake Isabel ?
Video ends abruptly. I assume you made it out... since you up loaded the video.
this one is more complete

I wanna fly
First part of video before lake is in sight the airspeed is 60; later when much lower and lake first comes into sight (video time - 59 seconds) airspeed is 85 ?????
it is an aggressive decent into the lake. Water level is 2800ft, ridge line is 5000ft. I have to lose 2200ft in less that 1800ft distance

I hope he has enough power and distance to take off at that high altitude !!!
Rumour has it he's still there
It's not very high, 1200ft or less.
So then what happened?
Coolio..!
lol wow.
Takeoff will be more exciting.... 😉

No, it's not easy, or inexpensive.

Microsoft flight simulator is getting to be amazing! This almost looks real!!!
With a GoPro Max, we could choose where to look at any given moment.
Sweet ride though.
