- Please visit my channel, i added some Bad Lieutenant songs (that arent added before)
New order Bernard Sumner and Phil Cunningham reformed into Bad Lieutenant, with Jake Evans from Leroy and Rambo, hes a great singer. Side effects to listening to Bad Lieutenant includes: It may cause you think its New Order, but because it isn;t new order because 2 missing formulas.
Also it may make you think its Electronic because it has Bernard Sumner in it.
Any comparison to these 2 will be shredded to pieces, either you love it or hate it, I don;'t care of that.

Bernard Sumner in Joy division, a post punk band til Ians death. They influence Nine inch nail or the cure. After Ians death they reformed New order, the creator of the best selling 12 inch single Blue Monday. Their mix or rock and electronic dance music is still being widely used today. New order broke up because the bassist called it quits and specifically told New order not to persue New order, now Bernard and Phil and Steve formed Bad Lieutenant with Jake Evans from Leroy and Rambo.
I saw these at MEN Arena last night, supporting the Pet Shop Boys, and they are absolutely BRILLIANT Live.
I would urge anyone to go and see this band before they start bandying around words like "crap" etc.
The energy Bernard has is amazing. His dancing is still pants, but as for a Live band they are superb!
Jake's a fine vocalist and it's great to see Stephen Morris smashing hell out of his drumkit, just like old times.
I like it!!

The Killers got their name from the New Order Video "Crystal" The band Performing the single in the clip are called (look at the bass Drum) The Killers.....

Joy Division and New Order have been one of the most inspirational and important bands to come from England over the years. It was bands such as these The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen, New Order, Depech Mode...to name a obvious few who have inspired some of the better indie acts today. I am not saying Bad Lieutenant is the best they have produced but hell I would play this hands down over much of whats being spat out in England and the rest of the Globe..

If you go to amazon, the 30 second snipets are up, and by jugding the samples, this song seems to be the weekest of the album, IMO, if you get the album, I think you will be happy with it. Nothing wrong with guitars! Joy division was post-punk and heavy guitars. Bernard and the band is just putting their talenst together.
Though I love the Eighties and I am probably stuck there myself in many respects sometimes it is time for artists to move on from what they once were, in reading previous posts it seems as if no one was overly fond of electronic, which I thought was an incredible collaberation...and I feel that this is the next chapter of Bernard Sumner...
They also played Bizarre Love Triangle, Temptation, Out of Control and Love Will Tear us Apart.
It was like a mini New Order gig. The BL songs are much better Live.
I'm not sure I'd buy their album (unless it was a live album) but I would definitely go and see them again.
It's far from ground breaking, but it really makes me happy. Can't say the same about U2 songs...
New Order also opened for Bronski Beat years ago but nobody is going to say that Bronski Beat is a better and a more respected band. Whether you like Joy Division and New Order or not, they have made music history that few can claim the same.
I agree with Sophia, these guys have lost their edge here, however not all oldies are afraid of trying different things - Ian Brown for instance experiments with his music but i think at the end of the day you either have a good song or you dont and a good song will sound good on an accoustic guitar as much as it would with a full band with synths and guitars.
The biggest compliment though is that after all these years were still talking about them and theyre still better than most others...

This is the first cd from this project, and the reaction is mixed now this is just the 1st Bad lieutenant album, maybe they will gte better, if U like dance music, that can happen but Bernard is playing to the bands strength of Guitars and less Sythesizers.

I love this new venture it's great fresh and really enjoyable to listen too so give it a chance or go listen to brittney boys and girls

what's it supposed to sound like, slayer or motorhead or something, of course it'll sound a bit like one of those bands.
@evilsnakes1 my god it does sound like the wont get fooled again ..ish ..it sort of makes me think of joy divisons stance when they first started out and how those values have totally disolved with time... and no suprises that some of their stuff sounds like the last neworder album without hooky on bass ...good luck with the hacienda ..mark2!!
you never heard of Bernard Sumner, "nor of his bands?" What are you, 12? Then you're going to compare him to someone called Bat For Lashes? Bernard Sumner and his bands are legends. Natasha Khan will be working at McDonald's in two years.

Her success can grow exponentially, and she'll never experience one millionth of the success that Bernard Sumner has had. As for you, if you've never heard of New Order your music credibility is less than zero. Download a few of their songs, and then take them back to the moon with you, because obviously you're not from this planet.

fuck, this track has only 13,259 listens as of this writing and its been up for 3 months. Don't get me wrong, this is damn good (even though musically it's a bit like the who) but it's not exactly being eaten up even by new order fans (possibly cause it was a bad name choice, burying themselves under listing for the 2 movies of the same name). I give more cred to bat for lashes by virtue of CURRENT output. nope. new order will never make another "temptation", or even "regret".

It's like they purchased a Keyboard from the Mall and hit different DEMO buttons and sang the same boring melody to all their songs which any child could do these days. It's sad really. It's sort of like the Pet Shop Boys these days doing the same boring thing like they are doped on Valium and sang tra-la-laa-laa to the pre-recorded demo on a childrens casio.

Who the fuck are bat Lashes? Are they much of legends then Bernard Sumner> founder of not 1 but 2 influencial bands.
like i said this song seems to be the weakest song on album, I dont know when i get my CD, its ordered. What is the other stinker?
Too much guitar, cheesy yeah yeah yeahs in the lyrics, sounds too happy and upbeat, not enough electronic synthesizers and peter hook is missing from bass. But Id still listen to it cause its still better than most music out there.
everyone rips off and samples off other bands nowadays so what is the difference here?
New Order is infinitely more famous than bat for lashes (yes, i like bat for lashes lots) - New Order has one of the best selling 12" of all time. BUT, bernard here is old now and should retire, not making crap like this Bad Lieutenant, which of course no one has heard of.

These songs for me are just weak. However 6 out of the 10 songs are quite good and have someting to offer so it's not all bad and of course it's objective anyway.
This is a rip off of a song by 'the who' forget the name but definite rip.
Now that was sort of a nice beat up until he started singing. ha ha It seems like most of what he sings sounds exactly the same and rather dull. Like he's stuck in a rut. I have too say I've been very disappointed with this band. The only song of there's I like is Twist of Fate and even then the last half of that song gets old real quick.
Terrible song, there are a couple of stinkers on the album and this is one of em.
