successful artists from other countries go on it to market themselves to a wider audience that don’t speak their language but the english speaking artists are already famous enough internationally because a lot of people listen to english lyrics in every country so they don’t need the exposure.
Wikipedia page about Eurovision voting used to say that it's practically impossible to get 0 points in new system. They had to change it after UK this year.

nah they sent Dustin because they stopped winning after public voting was introduced (rather than only juries) and all countries were allowed to sing in English (rather than the native language rule).

The UK needs to do one of two things:
1. Care more, stop sending mediocre shit, give the Scots and the Welsh a go for once, and bring the A game instead of the reserves,
or
2. Stop caring at all, send in absolute troll acts, embrace the meme, and just take whatever comes with a laugh.
Either of those strats is better than whatever the hell the UK delegation is doing now.

Gotta remember that its not the worst song that comes last, its the most forgettable. There were objectively worse songs that did better, but they were more memorable in performance. Embers is fine, but it wasn't performed very well, and it also wasn't bad enough to be a meme. James Newman seems like a top lad though
