There’s a key command that loads your samples into Sample One, that will save you a few clicks… Also every Impact XT Pad can be routed to its own channel and once you Explode Pitches each Pad will have its own track and those Pads can be routed to it’s corresponding channel in the mixer. Volume levels can be independently adjusted on each individual track and channel… It could be simpler but Studio One works like this to allow for more flexibility when routing things. It’s an easy DAW to get up and going but also very deep… You can’t chop samples in Sample One but you can edit each individual sample. Also, Sample One and Impact allow you to browse through the samples in the folder you have selected in the browser for faster browsing… However, Impact XT has been updated so I think it will be more intuitive, that Impact track and channel thing was annoying until I found out how to get each Pad on its own track and channel, and to be able to map each Pad so that it’s mapped across the keyboard board would be great so that we don’t have to load a Sample One if we wanted pitched One-Shots or having to go into Pattern Mode and using the Piano Roll in there for pitched One-Shots which can be triggered with a midi keyboard. Also in Studio One you can set up a Template and save it so you don’t have redo your routing every time and reload and setup instruments.
@@sonikblaksmif the key command Control S sends your slices or loop to a new Sample One from the arrange window… and for Impact XT before you drop your loop on a pad press Shift and it will slice the loop and spread it across the pads and same with Sample One if you hold Shift before you drop it will slice and add the samples into sample one. Pretty powerful stuff🫡
@@Magnetic1908 yes sir I’m aware of that but what I’m sayn is what if u didn’t do it that way.. U can slice a sample in SampleOne .. You are absolutely right I forgot about Create Slices by right clicking on the sample in the sample list. I usually use Split at Grid like you mentioned. 🫡💯
Studio One is the best, and the project page sets it far apart from the competition. Its user friendly workflow is the best and MACROS is the best functionality of any DAW. Fantastic
It will automatically chop it on drag .. I think you hold the option key while dragging… the other thing is you can go in the edit window by just double clicking on the sample and you will hit a window with more control..👍🏾
You can create your own folders under Files in the Browse tab. For example, I have a drums tab, a samples tab, an EQ's tab, etc. Makes it super easy to organize the things you access a lot. Edit: You can right click on any sample/s Audio > Send to new SampleOne (or Send to new Impact) and it'll put the sample/s right in. If you send to Impact, it'll even spread the samples across the pads automatically.
What did you request or hoped that they added or changed? They use to have a good reputation for listening but I don’t know about more recently since Fender bought Presonus.
True I did not mention that sorry, but you still have less control like having the individual sample to play across all of you keys like the DMD on Logic
Studio one has dual processing : you can set buffer for tracking very low at the same time as mixing your song in processing mode you can set 2048 samples for session playback. iI dont think any other daw has that feature. This is great when you already start mixing the song but then want to add a new music part via midi. the playback remains in the higher buffer and you also can track the new midi parts in low latency.
I have zero issues with using studio one o with max drop out protection on with a 64 sample buffer. I record a midi kit that records and monitors as played. Same with my mpk 88. It’s no issue for me.
Yo you can do that separate channel thing with impact. Your impact just have all pads on the same channel 1. All you have to do is change the number on all the pads I go up to 8 and save it as impact default
What up Bolo……Once again, Impact needs to function just like Drum Machine Designer. I have entered 1,000 feature requests for this and still no movement. 😂….Cmon Bolo, call them cats and advocate Bruh!
I Wrote to Presonus asking for them to expand impact xt and sample one: auto chooping and manual chopping. Also they should add transport ifeature n xt with groove recording then export to the work area. Drum sequencing right in the vst. Like MPC or Mv 8800.
You definitely can set up each impact drum to a different mixer track. Then mix it how you want after. I’d like impact to be a lot more like battery and superior drums. .
@@BoloDaProducer Right. I agree that would be nice. I work around that by automating the pitch knob on a sample if I use impact. I jump between genres and I do understand that is a feature that would be beneficial.

O. The sample. Been me I g to post this. 1. Play the sample and chop like you do your mpc. Just use ctrl shift c to chop I real time. Or change to what ever you like. 2.after real time chop Highlight all right click and send to impact and it’s spreads automatic. Done. It’s just like how you do your mpc but a faster. And always been there
You can right click the waveform on the track and send it to sample one or impact. right click > audio > send to sample one/impact. in sample one you would then have to right click and create slices. the only problem with what you think you want, you dont really have control over the chopping. you cant copy and paste the samples inside of sample one. the only way to create the slices is auto-slice. bottom line with studio one impact is goto for chops. sample one is for pitching. i've been trying to get them to simply be able to send one of the pad sounds to sample one to solve the issue with people wanting a million sample ones in impact when they can just use sample one. as for that drag and send to sample one feature bruh its quicker to use a shortcut than drag n drop. use the ~ key
you want to talk about a crucial feature that they have ignored over the years? How about BUS and track freeze? This is a top feature request and they continue to pretend it isn't. If that feature is not on the list, there is nothing on this new version that makes sense to purchase v7.
