Dude! This is my favorite video that I have watched in the last several months! It's not even because of the subject matter. I'm a freelance web designer who wants to follow your advice and create a RUclips channel but I do not have the time to make highly-edited videos like the ones you've been making the last couple of years. I know simple videos actually do well. There are channels with big subscriber numbers and view counts that just talk at the camera and maybe use a whiteboard. I love the tablet, stylus, power-point, screen record thing you're doing! I'm going to research how to do this. Thanks!

Usually if doing any location pages, in the Menu drop down, you have your Service pages which usually don’t have locations in them, and then for the Location pages in the Menu drop down, you’d usually have your different locations for usually your most profitable service. So with all these Variations you explained making, which location pages would we would we have in our main menu drop down and where exactly would we be putting the other pages? Thank you for your help

Great video. So proximity of the businesses physical address to the searcher is still the #1 factor for even for a "service area" designated GBP? Does Google give greater weight to GBP's with a physical address?
This is great content! I've used a lot of these strategies myself over the past couple of years,and I can say, this absolutely works! Just a quick question. Listing the business on directories such as Yelp, Bing etc. This is something I've always done. I strategy I didn't know was the part where you said about listing the individual service/location landing pages on these directory websites. Just curious on how that would work. If I've already listed a business on there and then try and do it again for a specific landing page, wouldn't it come up as that business already exists on there and not allow me to create a listing?

I’d be cautious about adding services to your GBP and describing them as “products”. Anecdotally, Google can suspend GBPs for breach of their T&C. There are specific guidelines for what they consider an actual product.
Hey Neil, SOME business categories don't have this unfortunately. You might try to test if another category would still be in line with what you offer and include those.
@@WesMcDowellInc Thanks - yes, this ties in with what I can see... it is primarily theatre tickets - selling at multiple venues across the UK (about 25) - trying to raise the profile of those 'venue landing pages'.
Question. I see many videos saying build service area and add a page for each surrounding city you want to target. Will you still do a page specifically for one service and city surrounding you. For example im a spa and offer many services, would i build service page and add each city with a page mentioning ally services , and then let's say i want to do laser hair removal page in surrounding city create that page as well, i hope that make sense
Are the pages essentially duplciates of themselves just for different locations ? For example, "Lawnmowing in City A" is this page essentially the same as "Lawnmowing in City B ", just wtith the Location name swapped out ? I'm assuming it is because it's the exact same service just with a different location name. IS this OK practise or will Google flag it for duplicate content ? What's the best way to approach this ?
Are they coming to you for that or is it remote? If they're coming to you then unfortunately this tactic doesnt work so well. If remote then just follow the steps in the video. Its the same thing. cheers!
Wes, what’s your take on using location pages for different neighborhoods for a business that only services one city? Do you think it’s worth the time to do this? I’ve debated this because most people don’t search “service in neighborhood”, but google knows where the neighborhoods are I would assume. Wondering if google uses those keywords on its own if that makes sense?
You have to think what people are looking for... for example I offer services in Tacoma and it has several strong neighborhoods BUT the name Tacoma is very popular, I figured people aren't looking for my services and then typing their neighborhood, they type the name of the city after (i.e. Roofing Contractors in Tacoma WA)... so I optimize my page for the keyphrase "Roofing Contractors in Tacoma WA" (I don't do roofing btw)... then I create as much valuable content as possible (AKA try to solve as many questions your customers or prospects have as you can) ... the format will depend on the explanation in your content... also provide as much social proof as you can (acreditations, pictures of your work, nice website design, your picture so they know you are real, embed google reviews (all the reviews that you have), have FAQs addressing these questions too there, embed your videos, have a blog post..... That way when you finally dominate that city, you dominate all those neighborhoods at the same time, you didn't have to go neighborhood by neighborhood because people usually don't type the neighborhood because they want the best options in that region.
Hey Wes, great video. Do you have any advise for service based businesses? Google recently contacted me and said we can not use our location address if we are a service based business, in fact they even suspended my profile until I removed the location address. For small service based businesses this is a really big deal because we're not showing up in the local area we want to be found in. Thanks for your insights!
well youd probbaly only show up on the business profile sidebar listing when they specfically search for your business name. hopefully youd show up for that regardless, otherwise its better to focus on old fashioned seo for organic (non-local) searches. backlinks, etc.

Please do a video about web layouts. Successful designs, content, and layout are heavily dependent on the type of business and the type of product or services you sell or provide as well as what content is required. This is where I'm struggling with my design. There must be some sort of template guide available.
the easy way, just search for some of the main keyword , open top ranking websites, check thier design on desktop and mobile, you will find the best one, if you need help in website desgining and seo, i am offer services in very affordable price

It's worth noting that, depending on your business category, you may not be able to add a "Product" or "Service" to your GMB profile.
