- Track 1 of the "Once Upon a Forest" soundtrack by James Horner
Vocals by Florence Warner Jones and the New London Children's Choir
All rights belong to James Horner, Florence Warner Jones, The London Children's Choir, and their respective owners.
I'm uploading the entire soundtrack for fans of James Horner and the movie, because they have asked for it.
According to the wiki this song is apparently sung by Abigal as an Adult. So this is her singing about her life as a ferling and the adventures she had with her friends, and saving Michelle!
Once upon a time we were "flying" consideing what happens in the movie it makes sense in a literal way
I thought if I ever did a TV series continuation of this movie, each episode would be told by adult Abigail to her kids (or maybe, she'll even take over teaching duties from the late Cornelius) in the style of "Jakers: The Adventures of Piggly Winks".
@@matthewweatherford6566 That would have been adorable!
As a kid who was born in the early 2000s who’s childhood stretched through 2004-201, I’m glad I was raised by my sister who was born in the early 90s and introduced me to these movies I grew up watching, movies like these in the times that Pixar was making movies like cars, wall E,finding Nemo etc... but don’t get me wrong I loved Pixar movies growing up but movies like Once upon a Forrest, all dogs go to heaven 1-2, secret of Nimh , ferngully, An American tail, Oliver and company, the great mouse detective and etc will always have a special place in my heart
Stop it, but please go on. Your sweet comment makes me cry even more...
This is a song everybody needs to hear in their life just once. It slaps hard even today and it makes me feel nostalgic, like I'm a child again. 😢😌
32 years of age and really missing the little person I used to be at this moment 😥😔
Me too and I’m also 32
We all do
33 🥺 ...pareil...
Me too. I hope you all are doing great in life. Remember: the little you still lives inside your heart and loves you a lot.
Same here bro! Brings back when life use to be simple
It's certainly nostalgic. I always remembered the beginning of the movie, when Abigal's father is calling her as well.
Honestly despite the bad criticism it got i believe its one of the good animated environmental films ive seen since Ferngully and the fact it shows both the bad and good actions humans cause to wildlife. Plus the 3 Ferlings are quite intresting and Abigail is my favorite character though personality wise im like Edgar as a kid. Little Michelle and her plight was so sad and the song sang from her uncle was both heartwarming and also tearjearking sad.
I'm crying right now, but I think I know why this song makes us cry, cause it makes ur remember our beautiful once upon a times that are and always will be in our hearts❤️❤️ so this song makes us cry happy tears😊😢😊
Amen to that:)
Exactly 🥲
How could you not shed a tear. I am crying too.
This was one my mother's favorite songs. I played it for her while she lay unconscious in her hospice bed. And I'm playing it for her now as I sit next to her urn in the living room. Love you mom. Let's listen to this together. ❤️
I have literally not given this movie a thought in at least 10 years, when suddenly today it popped into my brain. I had to go searching for "animated animal movies" because I could not remember the title.
I loved this movie so much as a child! This soundtrack is so nostalgic.
thats so relatable
Alyssa Carey, I called and asked my brother :D
I had to google “medicine for baby hedgehog movie”
Alyssa Carey, the same happened to me. One sunday I sat at the dinner table, just eating my meal when suddenly I remembered almost the whole movie and even its name all at once. My fork glit out of my hand, fell on the table, my mom looking at me sayin: ,,What's wrong!???" And I go: ,,Once upon a forest!"
This song made me cry so much,
Everytime the song was on my head I began to cry whatever I thought of saddest thoughts or I suffered a lot, now I'm suffered my family has falling apart.
Lucky to still have this gem of a movie on VHS :)
If I get nothing else for myself out of life, this one wish of mine must be fulfilled:
This has to be played at my funeral.
I have been trying to find this song since I heard this. I could never forget this. 34 years of age now. Childhood memories flashing back. I have a daughter now and I will make sure she will hear this song and see this movie.
this touched my heart.... literally
What ever happened to movies like this! 90's rocks!
Pretty much every 90s animated film had beautiful music over the end-credits, as opposed to now, where a lot of decent films have terrible ending music. This one is downright heart-rending in its sincere innocence.
@@austinreed7343
Every modern animated movie has to abuse the "end dance scene" cliche.
Beautiful song!❤🌈
As time goes on our music gets dumbed down. At this point movie soundtracks and scores are just textural. There aren't as many melodies or discernable themes anymore.
Pop culture seeped into everything. Children’s shows focus too much on getting “lol” moments and not enough on touching our hearts like this masterpiece.
My childhood was this... Can never forget this song nor this movie... It was one of the best things I was shown by my father ....my father n mother still talks about me watching it so keenly....♥️♥️
Everyone, I have devastating news. Today, we have lost Mr. James Horner. Please, say a prayer and send condolences to his loved ones and friends.
TripleCCC05 God calls back the most gifted ones early to help him manage things on the other side. Bless them all §
So sorry to hear ;c
TripleCCC05 I respected your opinion my good man, I'm gonna miss him, because of his plane. To Mr. Horner, rest in peace in heaven.
+TripleCCC05 His loss will be felt around the world by both young and old. My condolences to his family and know that he will always be remembered.
Um.... Who is that?
This movie is the epitome of my childhood. Nothing comes close to the nostalgia it brings to me.
Me too. This movie WAS my childhood I must have watched it over 100 as a child… these characters were like my family. So much so that I regarded Cornelius as a mentor… despite being a fictional badger. I still dream about these characters as friends.
I'm going through some really bad depression and as a coping skill i take songs like these in a playlist and just sit in the shower and just relax. It makes me feel so much better.
I hope you are doing okay :)
I'm 21, and this still makes me tear up.
It's 2020, and over 20 years since I used to watch this endlessly as a child. I just cried buckets of tears. Simpler times. Life is so crazy. So much can happen and years really do just go by . Thankful for memories and music from my childhood.
You're more than welcome. :)
I must have watched this over 100 times. These characters were like my family and even now I still dream about them as friends. I regarded Cornelius as a grandfather figure. I still kind of wish these characters were real but could live in peace with humans!!! Nature is far crueler in real life but it’s still dying in agony. I wish there was a way to stop deforestation but we have all failed… my mother also died 8 years ago and I used to watch this with her. I’m still haunted by her death and I have nightmares every night… this brought me back so far.
@@zacharykenniston748 my mother died 6 years ago, I understand your pain so well. I feel an immense hole where my mum used to be. She filled our lives with so much joy, sometimes it still doesn't feel real that she's gone. I don't think I'll ever stop grieving for her, I'm still waiting for her to come back home.
I for one think this gem of a movie should be restored and put on dvd or whatever they got nowadays
It is on DVD. I got it on DVD as I grew up with this movie.
I can see why it would make anyone cry, it's that powerful.
at the time when I watched the movie, I was in high school and it appeared on cable network.. I literally was blown away by watching this movie.. it has friendship, good moral, thrills, songs that lasts in your head forever. while i am writing this, i remember each and every moment of this movie. i think subconsciously this movie helped me become a better human being in time..
I was Russell the hedgehog. What a beautiful story the song says it all if only I could go back to when I was a child yesterday for me was so wonderful.
I loved this one so much...I used to sing along with the movie, then rewind the tape and sing it again and again...
Jesus I can't listen to these songs it Just makes me think of my parents and how I don't wana lose them now I'm crying my eyes out great
Reptile Sligz божечки, как я тебя понимаю 😭
And then just to make it worse... Do you remember the scene where the tortoise (I think) starts crying because he 'never got the chance to say goodbye' [hits me every time]
😥😥😣😣😣😭😭😭
@@seanjoyce6234 it was a mole. If you are talking about one of the main character's
@Reptile Slingz I was 4 when this movie was released and it just made the 90s so much better. I wish we were still in the 90s. Life was so much better than now in the early 2020s. 😟 Coming up here on 32 soon kinda freaks me out.
This song is the very essense of a happy childhood..and how the rest of your life could never compare to those memories :'D
James Horner is one of my favorite music composers of cinema.
I watched this movie so much as a child, but the Dutch version and where all the songs were in Dutch as well.
I remember always crying by this song and I still do. It's so beautiful.
this song hits my gut right in the feels
i love this movie
Lets shake hands
This song is on par with Diana Ross' "If we hold on together" Land Before Time. Timeless and beautiful and hits on a soul level 🤲🏾♥️ I pray whoever sees this has everlasting peace and joy fill your hearts
I would love to do a cover of this song, it brings so many memories and it make me cry every single time, especially when both main vocalist and choir merges at the end in their different melody lines. I don't mind they call me vintage even if when I write my own songs, music before was more emotional.
This song, movie, brings back a lot of childhood memories.
Yesterday, I reminded with my mom this beautiful animated movie. She has never forgotten Abigail's father calling her through the forest. And I still remember the destruction of the forest and the owl's attack. Listening to this melancholic and amazing song gives me goosebumps.
I love Once Upon A Forest and this song. I used to sing it alot in
the 90's and throughout the years. I'm in 30's now and I still love
this song. Thank you James Horner for such a beautiful soundtrack
and thank you to Florence Warner Jones and the New London Children's
Choir for singing this captivating song. I miss the 80's and 90's :( I love
children's choirs (e.g English, Austrian etc.) I also want to thank you
TripleCCC05 for posting one of my favorite songs since I was a kid.
A little over a year ago, I had resigned from a volunteer position. I was reaching a point where I didn't have time to do it anymore. After my last shift, I listened to this. It was potentially the best two years of my life.
James Horner does it again. This man has no limits with music, he's a real genius.
I loved this movie as a child! I never really realized what happened during the movie due to my young age... I found this in the basement when I was 14 and cried like a baby! It was still a wonderful movie. Thank you for allowing me to love this song even more :)
Damn.... The feels😭 I loved this as a child. It's so so beautiful and sad! :( childhood memory kicking in really hard ❤️
I wanna hear this song before dying...It's just so beautiful and spirit-lifting!
Thank you for uploading the album. Very appreciated.
You are more than welcome! =)
A stunning and beautiful song, great showcase of James Horner's talents. RIP to someone who has given us so many memories. Wish Once Upon A Forest got more attention, it's a charming and fun movie.
This song is kinda amazing.
I remember watching this 1993 British-American animated film on VHS when I was younger and I thought it was very enjoyable.
It was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and distributed by 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios). After Disney's 2019 purchase of 20th Century Fox and its former parent company 21st Century Fox, this is technically the first Hanna-Barbera film to be distributed by Disney.
Anyway it is probably one of the most underrated animated films of all time.
I still like it though.
Its Christmas eve and im sitting here listening to this. Remembering my childhood when everything was intact. Damn. Such a sad indescribable feeling.
As a teacher I love to introduce this movie to my kindergarten students. They learn just how fragile our world is and how we should always work as a team to accomplish anything. This movie has so many other messages too numerous to post here. Love the score especially Please Wake Up. Brings tears to my eyes every time. Watched it with my kids when they were little. Still have it on VHS but looking for DVD version. LOVE love love this movie.
This movie just gives me all the feels. 💗😭
I remember seeing ads for this movie back in the fall of 1993 when I was in grade 6. James Horner is a great composer, he did some of the Star Trek movies too! : )
And Titanic too! As well as the song.
DredWolfster Land Before Time, Willow, Deep Impact, An American Tail, Braveheart, Avatar, + 50 more. The most memorable composer I'd say, blessings from a dude.
I'm glad I could bring back memories for you, and make it easier to listen to this song as many times as you want. :)
When I pass away, I want this song to play at my funeral
Ok
This song really hits me so much foreal I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! 😢😢😢😭😭😭😭
The soundtrack alone is enough to make me weep.
Love this movie so much. ❤
I remember this movie as in a dream. It shouldn't have flopped, the message is very strong. 30 years later we can see the consequences of not giving nature the importance it needed
I was actually surprised it flopped because they didn't actually have that much competition that summer.
Don Bluth didn't release any films that year and this was a rare instance where Disney did not release in the 90s.
Aladdin came out around Christmas of 1992 and they didn't have another animated feature until summer 1994 The Lion King
@@breiffen5526 It may have "flopped" at the box office or with critics, but it still has a special place in many hearts and childhood memories.
@@rhodawatkins4516 I rented this from the video store so many times in fourth grade. Now my son likes it. There are lots of movies that may have been box office flops but are still great films the Labyrinth Office Space A Christmas Story It's a Wonderful Life and even The Wizard of Oz was a bit of a box office flop
@@breiffen5526 Seems like some of the long-term best movies were "flops". It's sad that the metric we measure how good a movie is is by how much money it rakes in on its first weekend, not the meaning or quality of its content or how people are touched by it.
This song makes me cry. I don't know why it does but it makes me cry. I don't know. I just don't. I feel like crying right now.
it's so beautiful
Caroline Noland agreed. It is beautiful.
I am crying too
I remember having this on VHS. It's a cute movie :)
R.I.P. James Horner 😥
Children need this movie today x
I hope in few years people like James could be again with us, I'll wait to hear the music He will do in New World.
Definitely was a favorite childhood movie! ! Brings it back!
Every now and then for the past decade or so I've had this tune pop up in my head randomly during the day. I've searched all over to find where it was from, because as a child I didn't remember the name of this movie, nor the name of the song. I heard Runaway by Real McCoy and it sounded super familiar, so I started looking through all their remixes and searching for acapellas. Just today, while looking up animal documentaries from the 90s on Imdb I had an animal cartoon movies list pop up instead. I instantly recognized the characters from this movie, even after some 20 years of watching it.
Rewatched the entire movie by myself. Cried. Not just because of the story, but the memories and nostalgia from my childhood, rewatching half this movie (partly recorded) on VHS.
This song. Ugh. This was my childhood right here.
Remembering Mr Horner now listening to this....how sad that day he crashed was . The world lost a very talented wonderful composer and music maker.
Say what you want this movie scared the shit outta me when I was a child and it still does. That fuckin owl man. Nightmare fuel.
i jus went back like 21 years. I loved this movie as a kid, bringing back alot of memories
One of my favorite childhood movies. Very near and dear to my heart. ❤️
I loved this song! It was my favorite out of all the song in Once Upon a Forest! I animators would put 2D movies in their theaters again!
I remember this as a song I sang to my nephew when I remembered the lyrics. This movie is so underappreciated
Something about the 90's and Don Bluth made a magical combination.
This film is actually Hanna/Barbera. But Horner and Bluth are the magic combo of the 90s.
@@scottvasquez1401 I love James Horner's music, because it's so legendary.
@@scottvasquez1401 most of the best combos of James Horner and Don Bluth are actually from the 80s but I hear you
This is such a great and awesome song, so beautiful thank you. :)
Best scores of james horner:
-an American tail.
-land before time.
- this.
-titanic.
-balto.
-casper.
-spiderwick chronicles.
And finally
-the amazing spiderman.
And the first two sequels to "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" as well.
Uh, correction... KRULL is No. 1. :) 👍🏻

Don't forget my favorite movie of all time, The Pagemaster.
beautiful song
You can say that again.
My pleasure. I'm glad I could upload the entire soundtrack for everyone to enjoy. :)
I loooooooove this, sooooo beautiful, I am 47 ,my kids and I love this this ,so heart feeling the movie is so awesome peace
I still love listening to this song
such a BEAUTIFUL movie.. one of the last ones you could sit and watch as a family... what happened to the world
Oh my goodness, I didn't even know there was a soundtrack released for this movie.... One of my favorite movies from my childhood... Thank you for uploading this, it brings back memories of when I'd watch it as a kid with my grandparents....
Alanah Kirkland Why not bring back more memories with the whole movie :] I'd encourage people to buy it for better quality, extras ++, but I know a lot of people are struggling out there. The riches must be shared wider... Enjoy: putlocker.is/watch-once-upon-a-forest-online-free-putlocker.html
You’re Welcome
I still have to cry when i remember of the movie. This was a huge part of my childhood.
If I never had seen this movie as a child, I feel like I wouldn’t have became the person I am today. This movie touched me as a kid and I hope that others can watch this too.
I was mezmerized in this movie at my dearly departed grandma's house. It's one of my second most prized possesion and a destinct copy, in my language(danish) it sings of time when movies from less successful film dubbed in danish were common. I miss those beautiful animation in a top-tier dub.
I didn't really care for this film, but the music is really beautiful. I love this song. I once saw it put to clips from "Grave of the Fireflies" - powerful.
This is the song I have for my college friends, never before or since have such adventures happened for me
I Remember I Had Once Upon A Forest On VHS When I Was Younger I Watched It So Many Times
i fucking love this shit!!!! I always cry when i watch this movie.
Same here. I always cry when I watch the movie.
TheVeganWithTheFro girl me too
3/4 or so of the way in and my tears are already running before it ends!
Oh, it was James Horner! No wonder I've always loved it!
RIP James Horner
Florence Warner Jones's voice is part of the soundtrack of my early life. She would sing TV stations promos for stations across America, probably Canada, hell. most likely the English-speaking world in general.
My Fav Childhood movie! 💖🎥🎶
Such lovable memories I knew this theme in my whole life🇬🇧
This was my favorite movie when I was little :0
I really am glad you were able to upload the entire soundtrack album! Thank you!
Once Upon a Forest, when the world seemed very young through a tiny princess' eyes, there existed a dream. This dream she watched for 4 years 'till she was 7. But all was not to be so peacefull in the kindom of a princess' dream, for even these end when the morning comes & wakes all from their slumber. It tore the young princess from her beloved dream, & just when It seemed they never again would meet, after 16 years, they did! It brought such tears to her eyes that her little sister laughed.
This song makes me cry every time. It reminds me of my great childhood.I had a wonderful childhood...and I miss it so much. It reminds me when my family was big, whole, and full of love. Now my family is broken and everyone hates each other. I really wish I could have my childhood family back... ;_;
This so sad. It reminds me of a eldery couple that are dying together. Or one of themnis dying and leaving the other one. But i love this movie and music. I wish kids of this genreation could have enjoyed it as well.
It makes me cry alot too. I mean I don't know why I'm in tears right now.
it reminds me of the days i spent playing with my best friend before she moved away. I think of her a lot and i always wonder if she still thinks of me... that's why i love this song, cos even if me and my friend are seperate i wish for both of us to remember our once upon a times together :)
she always remembers you in her dreams and thouhts
Glad a bought this score when it was released. It is now impossible to find. Great score by Horner!
Im crying rn this is so nostalgic and warms my heart
I missed this movie so much. I used to watch it over and over when I was a little kid. I was really sad when my VCR broke down and I can't watch it any longer. I threw the tape a long time ago and have nearly forgot all about the movie. They should really have a DVD for this so I can watch it again.
It is on DVD as it was released in 2002 or 2004
I wanna cry so baadd!! It's one of my favorite movie songs from my childhood!
Its beautiful
