This video was perfect I have Mitchell now I’m switching to alldata. I think the repair info is better with alldata and it’s much more user friendly. The other thing about the DIY version of a Mitchell if you don’t have a repair shop with a EIN and business name as far as I know mitchell won’t sign you. I had to provide mine when I went to mitchell 2 years ago. I’m glad you showed this I was trying to get the free trial of alldata to see it first
Keep in mind that you have to sign a 1 yr agreement with Alldata. Or at least I had to to get the sale pricing. I think I pay 169 or 179 per month and that price is guaranteed forever.
I really like Alldata so far and I could probably replace Prodemand with it at this point but sometimes I go back to Prodemand when I can’t find something in Alldata just because I’m still learning the locations of information.
ThePracticalMechanic I had to do a 15 mo contract with pro demand, I just finished. I got a special with Robert roggdio a sales rep with all data for $145 a month I just need to pull the trigger. You do think you could survive with just alldata? Is the repair data easier? I don’t want both. Pro demand is clunky but I like its inter graded with snap on scanners
As you were speaking I went over to my Alldata DIY and checked the wiring diagrams. Yeah we don't get colored wires or highlights. :( Nice job explaining the differences.
wyattoneable that kind of a bummer but I suppose that is where they separate the diy from the pro version. Take out a few of the tools and features that a shop may need to increase productivity that DIY may not need.
@@ThePracticalMechanic It works for me, just not as pretty. :)
@@ThePracticalMechanic IMO, the DIY'er needs the highlights more than a professional since it's sometimes difficult for us to follow where these wires all go. I'm helping a friend trying to get his jeep running and following some of the wiring in the DIY version of Alldata that he has is kind of difficult. I could really use the highlight feature to see where all of the wiring for the starting system go and what else is tied into it.
Nice shirt! Love the setup, looks like some serious radio show lol great video! 👍👍 helps to use ctrl+F and type in the connector you're looking for 😉
Radio show😂😂 I have a serious gear addition. This is a streaming setup I built Valerie a while back.
Great tip on finding the connector. That’s how I always did it when using the factory software but didn’t think to try it with the aftermarket.
Thanks for excellent videos! By the way, I subscribed to Alldata DIY and find it very frustrating and incomplete. I'm looking forward to researching alternatives for the weekend warrior
That's what I though about the Alldata DIY version. I wasn't sure if my vehicles were too old and unsupported but the wiring diagrams were b&w and hard to follow. Have you found anything else for Diy?
Thanks for info , notice the changes on Mitchel platform recently .
The Automotive Doctor Mr. Wilson I really like the changes to the wiring diagrams. Make identification so much simpler.
Envoy 2004, i can't find the hoodlight harness 💡
Hi can you help me out what would be the best platform for European vehicles service and wiring diagrams
One thing I can say is I use all 3 programs. Each program does different things and different options, like for example identfix has GM “pips”(preliminary information) is an unpublished bulletin, which the other programs don’t. Since more and more manufacturers are getting rid of the amount of “TSB” they put out, since that is effecting their resale of the cars, So not having that information from the other companies is leaving us in the dark. Not sure why alldata and Mitchell doesn’t add it since they are provided with the “pips” but choose to not add it. Kinda like the lack of mode6 data from these companies, couple years ago.
We are in a field that not one scan tool will do the job and the same holds true to service information. These 3 programs are top in the industry but there are also times they are lacking information (newer cars) which means at times paying the money for factory service information is a must.
Great professional video Chad!
I agree 100% I think many manufacturers are manipulating the rules and law of right to repair by requiring special access and special tools to be able to perform routine jobs. I know it will only get worse in the future. FCA has already shown us that they can restrict aftermarket access unless the factory tool is used. (Big news on this coming up in the few months)
Absolutely magnificent. Cheers.
So if I understand correctly, Mitchell only has the color interactive diagram, but Alldata has that and the OEM diagrams. Is that right?
On most vehicle yes. On newer vehicles Mitchell has some OEM diagrams available as well. Identifix has a mixture of of both.
There's also multimedia wiring diagram inside ALLDATA? Let me know please
Hi I'm Salem Albadin from Queensland Australia how can I buy ProDemand. could you please help me thanks
Hi, i have np300 2018 model is this the same diagram that you explain in this video? How can i get this diagram for my DYI thank you sir
Nice video , i have one question
When getting a subscription with any of those companies , do they have restrictions on how many devices that can log in at the same time ???
Depends on the package you sign up for. Many of them have a 5 or 10 device limit restricted to the same IP address or region.
@@ThePracticalMechanic thanks alot , keep up the good work 👍👍
thanks a lot ...

thanks for your time
How much is prodemand vs AllData
For the professional version it can range between $100-$200 depending on what sales are going on and what package you get. It cost more to get the estimate module included.
You can also get better deals depending on your affiliation with the the auto parts stores. Napa auto cares can get better deals on prodemand. Autozone customers may get promotions on Alldata.
How do I get there with all data
-Do these systems require a year contract or month-to-month basis?
, both monthly and yearly

Where can I get this sopwer
The dyi version wiring diagrams are not that fansy and don’t highlight ... or maybe it’s my old laptop that doesn’t support it. But by all means great video and info. Thx for your time 👍🏻
I know my windows XP laptop has a less intuitive svg viewer plugin and the diagrams are slightly harder to highlight with. I will see if I can find out for sure if the diy version has highlighting.
Yeah same nothing changed on my part. As a fleet mech I have the same trucks , Ford F-150 s 250s 350 s and Chevy 2500Hds ect. so I just do the 4 year deal manuals on them. The wiring diagrams are good enough but I like the highlight and
trace abitilies you were showing in this video. Maybe it’s a different subscription thing. Thx again 👍🏻
Wow Chad this video is amazing. Are you using a green screen?
Love the shirt buddy, thank you!!
Sure am!! With a green screen you never have to clean. Actually a should have done it Scotty style and just showed my couch and cat pillow in the whole video.
ThePracticalMechanic Thanks to you I just dropped some money on a green screen buddy lol. Your videos are just getting better and better Chad
Is it a one time payment of 30 for alldatat diy.or a monthly fee
It is a year long subscription for $30. I found out that the diagrams may not have all the interactive features in the DIY version.
@@ThePracticalMechanic I was about to buy the diy version from alldata till i read this. Have you confirmed if its included or not?
From what other have said not all vehicles have the full color interactive diagrams. Alldata diy and prodemand diy are both limited this way.
How can i get all dataI am from india🙏
Hello sir Nice video Sir want the detail about P0760 Hyundai Accent 2010 please explain my car not shifting gear only drive 3rd gear Thank you i am from Saudi Arabia

hi how much per moth
Depending on the current promotions they all range from $120-$220 per month.
Can you subscribe to all data diy from out side USA?
Moto logic
How long have you been using it? What is a strong point that they have over the others? I would like to try Motologic but haven’t had time yet. Perhaps I will demo it at a trade show.
@@ThePracticalMechanic check out the website, they appear to have equal coverage of both European and domestic and Asian, and the price is alot less
