most fun level = level 2. 'galaxians' .. then the first level. galaxians was easier than level 1 (space invaders), but fun. level 3 = the hardest level. intense. level 4 easy. difficulty of levels = 3 1 2 4 (3 = most difficult). would end up really wrecking that joystick and sweating on level 3. those spinning strawberries, chasing the ship out of the screen. . very hard to hit. fast. levels: 1 = space invaders 2 = galaxians (midway owned that one anyway) 3 = "spinning strawberries" 4 = boss level ( barrier , boss ship). the fact teh "missile" (shot) = guided by joystick, made it possible to defeat boss level in two shots. was thinking that more programming work went into level 2 than any other. its fun and .. just less primitive. The boss ship looks primitive in graphics. The way it used to 'flip direction'. Galaxians always looked good with graphics. easy to wipe out but fun, satisfying. Level 1 was marginally less difficult than level 3. levels 2/4 comparably much easier. Always lost entire game cos of level 3. Latterly would walk away to get bus, give the ships to some kid. Coulda been there all day. Found one at arcade a decade + later = the mid 90s, late. Still had it. Would like to try again
which could be shot away with two shots. one to penetrate the barrier, the 2nd to get the exact pixel on boss ship (possible). btw I could clock that game. the mission counter only goes up to 99
Why are the Galaxians flipped upside down? They're facing away from you when they're flying down. EDIT: I also just noticed the synthesized voice past all the noise this game makes. Its barely heard whenever the game enters "astro battle" or "flagship".
GORF: Or how Midway wasn't simply content with stealing _one_ game.
they were a galaxians licensee. I think it was the same case with space invaders.
Growing up, neighbor had a gorf and a battle zone. Mowed his yard and arcade time was payment for services. 😊
Had this for my Coleco back in the mid 80s. Loved the mash-up of different games, especially that end boss fight.
Space invaders and galáxian too 😂
Nice Longplay!!

@@borkair6581 it's a really nice game and one of the great classics
Best name for anything anywhere.
And one of the first video games to have a boss at the end.

@@borkair6581 Yes.

Everyone seems to forget that you can only fire one shot at a time. Trying to "rapid fire" only cancels your shots.
Yes but it's useful if you have an enemy close to you.
I first played this game when I was seven years old.
On the space invaders level, soon as it starts push up and fire: You hit Gorf for points who then continues to deal out the invaders as per normal.
Who knew a 1981 game had boss death explosions that wouldn't be equalled for like twenty-five years?
Long live GORF!!!
いろいろ混ざりすぎい!
That reminds me of the space invaders
Gorf
Gorf
space invaders with sensory overload
I’m gorfing so hard right now
Ayo pause💀
Just be sure to clean up after yourself.
Looks like galaga ans space invaders
Get gorfed...
