Fantastic rendition! Some of the other commenters are completely off base.. They can not see the forrest for the trees... This individual organist is 13... Not a doctoral candidate from an ivy leage music school... Each personal recital that is given is how the indivudual interruptes the music; there is the way the original musician scored it; and then the mutitude of private arrangments that each organist give the original score. NOWHERE, did this organist say or indicate this was going to be the original scored / authored version. They simply said they were going to play it... Those that want to tear appart the recital, that was given, are challenged with their own notion of how they think it should be played... They may well, be 100% spot on and correct; however they are not playing the score, nor are they producing the score from memory.... So those naysayers need to put a cork in it and build up this organist and not pickapart what they published and shared with the world... If you want to tear down and pick apart others and be a consistant down voter, do us all a favor; and publish your own works and create you own videos and see how well it goes.... I encourage Casimir and kudo them for a fantastic performance. I so look forward to listening in the future your forth coming works, as you see fit to recite them. Keep up the great job and take some of these knuckleheaded commenters with a grain of salt; and PLEASE dont let their desconstruction of your performance have a negative impact on sharing with enthusist in the future. Great job!
The organist of our church, a distinguished college professor, said she would not accept a young organ student until said student had 8 years of piano experience so I did not start organ instruction till I was 13 years old. I played this Toccata at age 16 and also used it among others to audition to be accepted at USC. If I remember correctly I also used it to audition for a church organist position. That was in 1973. I am still currently at the same church. Haven't played this piece in years. Think I'll dig it out of the music archives and work it up again.
I started playing the organ at 7. Nowadays it’s recommended to start with the clavichord since it gives you a better feeling of the hands and are better for the barock music.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Toccata, played by CASIMIR KÄFLING from SWEDEN! This young musician is only 13 years young! He plays the Grand Organ in the Hedvig Eleonora Church in Sweden. AWESOME! Best wishes from me in the Netherlands!
Casimir, this was a wonderful rendition of this piece I’ve heard dozens of times in my life. You are so talented, and have obviously worked very hard to be able to perform this at age 13. You have a bright future ahead of you. Someday you may be one of the best organists in the world. I hope to hear more from you in the next several years.
BRAVO !!!!!!!!!! Absolutely fabulous - and honoring the NOT face paced endeavors that Widor winced upon hearing other organists do ! This is BRILLIANT ! Each nuance is honored in your execution . Thank you, Casimir !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talentueuse et de jouer cette pièce par coeur , chapeau mademoiselle ,longue vie à découvrir et des instruments prestigieux avec de belles registrations...
Amazing - Widors' Toccata from memory and in such a good interpretation. Congratulations. I also believe to listen to your organ playing often. Tack sa mycket Casimir.
Just stunning Casimir, my god what talent you have…you have been gifted by God himself. I will pray for your continued success and forthcoming outstanding career as a magnificent concert organist, BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO! Adrian listening in from Bermuda! Adrian M Ridgeway, organist of St Theresa’s RC Cathedral, Hamilton, Bermuda…😀😀😀😀😀😀
Been looking for a good rendition of Vidor but its all so lifeless and timid... this however, is excellent. I stopped looking and just listened with SO much pleasure. Well done, this was good... I don't care how old you are, you give the piece true feeling!!!
Don't understand why people think that Casimir, who is playing the organ, is a girl. There are lot of boys that have long hair nowadays - especially musicians. Even old men. Besides, a girl would NEVER put on these organ shoes! (Comment from his very happy and proud grandmother.)
And I can’t imagine why anyone would think that Casimir or Kasimir would be a woman’s name! It’s usage is masculine and the root c-s-r or k-s-r is about as masculine as you can get, Caesar, Kaiser, Czar or whatever he calls himself! You have a wonderfully talented grandson and you are so right about those shoes. My late departed organist’s shoes still sit on his bench and no girl or woman I know would wear those shoes! I look forward to many more fine performances from this young man.
I think the youthfulness, along with the long hair, fooled some at first. Apologies for those who were mistaken. I know you must be overflowing with pride that your grandson is such an accomplished organist at age 13. Congratulations to you, him and all his family.
All I can say is Holly cow big time!! And loved the way you played it!! I started the Organ at 18 years old and you did it younger than me!! All I can say is this; keep up with what you do and you get noticed big time!! and having fun doing it!!
One of my favorite pieces that I loved to hear my Dad play in our church. In 1971 we finally got a small pipe organ to replace the old electronic Hammond.
Very nice performance, thank you so much for this splendid experience at an age of 13. I started playing the organ with 14 and continued practicing it up to now with devotion and enthusiasm. Please go on with more videos like this, also with pieces of J.S. Bach, please! He is my favourite composer. 🎼🎹🎵🎶❣️🤗🙏
A very enjoyable performance by a talented young organist, and entirely from memory too. Most impressive! I hope we can look forward to more recitals from this young man.
Two things: It's too fast, partly because Widor's tempo is a bit slower. On the other hand, the church has too much resonance, which prohibits high speed. Bravo for the performance.
Absolutely beautiful well played. This Widor Toccata is my favorite and I am still practicing it to this day. Hope I could play it one day. New friend organist here from Manila. Liked ❤️
You have the makings of a very fine organist young lady. The only criticism I would have of you playing of this piece I'd that you were consistently coming off early on the last note of each pedal phrase. That note wats to reverberate throughout the building. I'm not sure if the church you are in has any reverberation, but please try it with longer last pedal notes. And it will sound more amazing than ever. Well done, very nicely played!
Fantastic performance. Refreshing to see a young person playing so well from memory. Charles Widor would be so happy to see this !

So true
It is good to know the organ is safe in the hands of future generations...simply sublime...

An organist is not an organist until the Vidor is part of their regular repertoire.

@@AndrewLumsden Sorry, used the German spelling.
Also you might want to consider Gigout's Toccata (the ticking clock toccata). It is one of the magnificent gems in the French organ repertoire.
Only one word can describe this performance: PHENOMENAL!!!!
Bravo! I'm so glad there are young organist's coming on scene to keep these wonderful behemoth organs speaking! Even the recording was good!

Fantastic & I see your wearing professional Organ Shoes too!

Well done, Casimir. Awesome.
Perfect tempo and a wonderful performance !
Bravo. A 'true" recital. Although this piece is straight forward and mechanical, when played "a memory" the music is being played from the heart.
Wow !! And playing without music score in front of you.
A genius and I am astounded.
Beautifully played.
Very impressive rendition for such a young talent. Unhurried and with feeling.
excellent performance wish I could play that well
Que bellísima y poderosa interpretación, muchas gracias ,felicitaciones .
Very nice, and from memory! The organ is a hybrid with electric drivers and some pipes, no? The lower octave sounds like large, sub-bass speakers.
58 pipe stops and 99+11 Allen digital stops
