- Jennifer Gaskin explains why Black women have every right to be angry and why we should be more concerned about addressing the issues that drive that anger. Writer. Orator. Revolutionary. Jennifer J. Gaskin is a Caribbean American, Black woman creator who delivers her message through direct, strong, and honest oration and writing. Often misunderstood due to her raw and gritty delivery, she has dedicated her next journey to giving a voice to those also walking this path. She aspires to provide a voice for the voiceless and create space and connection for healing. Writing has served as an outlet of healing and connection for Jennifer. She believes there is power in creating an opening to understanding through having intentional conversations, leading with love, and sharing culture to enable authentic connection. Black voices matter. Her voice matters. Our collective voices matter. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. "Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die."
- Buddha
let me guess 👋🏻
I am crying. This is so deep.
Thank you for this. Thank you so much
Girl, this thing exactly happened to me
Anger is actually a secondary emotion comprised of one or more of the following: fear, anxiety, worry, disappointment, frustration, envy, rejection, discomfort, and regret.
It is sad when people can't see that a person is hurting until it is too late
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
i wish she'd better explained what happened at her job. what were the actual experiences that lead her to her conclusions there?
So powerful Miss Jennifer! Your truths will empower many ❤
FACTS!!!!!!!
When you look in the mirror and you don't like what you see because of unrealistic ideas of what you should look like.
😂😂😂😂
Powerful and insightful
You are strong woman 🥹🤍
Yes she is…
Why would you laugh at traumatic situations?
Anger doesn't accomplish anything but causes division including division with God. Other women who have been abused also have anger but the anger only wounds the one who is angry.
Thank you white women for educating us on how to express ourselves
If anything had really happened between this presenter and the company of which she speaks …she would have resigned and filed suit for discrimination. This is all BS
What ever happened to women believing each other.
stop being angry....your blood pressure will go down
Disrespect people like you. Raise blood pressures. Check what you say and your actions. Be understanding to everyone's life experiences.
Anger is a bad energy and can leave you exhausted. Believing you are a victim of slavery will keep you angry. So you should ask yourself what you are not free to do even if you try. I can't think of any rights that are being withheld.
That's true. Most whites just trying to pay their bills. We don't control anyone.
How about you don’t tell people how to feel. How about you read and do your own research?
@@MaixMarie Well it becomes a problem when people project that anger onto people who don't deserve it and had nothing to do with slavery, doesn't it?
@@Patrickstarrrrr69 anger forms when sadness has no place to go. How about we dig deeper and ask why people are angry….people will tell you if you create the space for them to do. Unless we’re scared of emotions….
@@MaixMarie I’m talking about being treated rudely in public for no reason like someone taking out their frustration on a cashier or barista or something like that. There’s no excuse for that
This is nonsense...
Why does she seem so angry lol
They are always angry
It's obvious the message was lost on both of you. SMH.
@ezellbroome6313what are you talking about? Who has a fake profile pic?
You're NOT listening…
modern slavery is realshe is right😊
Stop encouraging bad behaviour.
Blah blah blah, y’all just have bad attitudes.
Wow. You want us to be enslaved again? Huh? Or how about breeding us again? So pick a time when we should have a good attitude when that known history been passed down from mother to daughter. Or how about knowledge that our history is that none of us chose to know that our ethnicity did choose to be on this land. I am glad to know if this was 200 years ago or even 60 years ago, who you would be this time in pass history of this country. You are a scary human for you would be L us in trees if you could get away with it. And you and others are the reason most stay oppressed by others in this country. You don't know all of us and stop catergorizing all of us. Everything done to the B race is because of attitudes like this. Pray there never come a day when enough is enough.
I'd be pissed off too if I looked that unattractive...
