You're right. The movie wasn't terrible. What I got from this movie was that Michael was so lonely. He enjoyed his kids but adults still need adult friends.
I feel like based on the Michael urban legends told by Chris Tucker, Steve Harvey, Eddie Murphy and more, the Michael story sounds kinda accurate. I enjoyed the Michael and his kids storyline. The rest seems a little one sided or a possible stretch. But I do believe the public allegations destroyed Michael Jackson so bad it lead to his demise.
I told people to turn it into a drinking game. Take a shot every time his accent changed. It was southern, British, Australian, and some Asian/Jamaican fusion. That was all in the first hour lol
LisaMarie told us that Michael was a tiger in the bedroom...I don't know if we believed her at the time, but she did tell us they did the do, and he got it in. 😂😅
the part that really got to me was at the end of the movie where the two bodyguards said yeah Michael had a lot of friends but where were they when he needed them and the bodyguards basically saying they were the only ones there's for him Michael and that baisaclly they blamed themselves for his passing because he needed a friend but at the end of the day he was gonna die because he was still unhappy there was not a lot they could be done at the end of the day

I agree. They are. The Full House movie was bad, the Marilyn Monroe one was all right but felt rushed in part 2. BET should do a 3 part Michael Jackson miniseries. Part 1 should be three hours, parts 2 and 3 should be 2 hours.

Girl, the timeline is on 2006-2008 . Thats y its not the ignition songs coz that was in the 2001-ish maybe . Havent watch it yet but from the trailer i can say its kinda follow accurately the book by MJ former bodyguard. That book tho , was really entertaining. Emotional roller coasters. Thank for the review. Cant wait to watch it. Hopefully someone will upload it here in youtube

We used to sneak hotdogs and sodas into the baseball games, we brought popcorn into the movies and candy and I recall bringing a couple of wine coolers into the theater to watch The Color Purple. I think Navi did exceptionally well in his portrayal of Michael. Sure the accent wasn't perfect but remember only Michael can do Michael's accent perfectly.
I read and recommend their book. It explains a lot,and goes into more details about things like the money,managment,and the family. The movie is lis pretty accurate to what's in their book. A lot of it aligns with the picture painted by other sources in his life at the time.
Honestly, I enjoyed "Searching for Neverland" I thought that it was one of the best biopics I've seen in a while. Of course it like you stated it was nothing new that we didn't know about. But what I really liked is that we got to see what the last few years of Michael's life was like (in a sense).
