You're right. The movie wasn't terrible. What I got from this movie was that Michael was so lonely. He enjoyed his kids but adults still need adult friends.
I feel like based on the Michael urban legends told by Chris Tucker, Steve Harvey, Eddie Murphy and more, the Michael story sounds kinda accurate. I enjoyed the Michael and his kids storyline. The rest seems a little one sided or a possible stretch. But I do believe the public allegations destroyed Michael Jackson so bad it lead to his demise.
I told people to turn it into a drinking game. Take a shot every time his accent changed. It was southern, British, Australian, and some Asian/Jamaican fusion. That was all in the first hour lol
LisaMarie told us that Michael was a tiger in the bedroom...I don't know if we believed her at the time, but she did tell us they did the do, and he got it in. 😂😅
the part that really got to me was at the end of the movie where the two bodyguards said yeah Michael had a lot of friends but where were they when he needed them and the bodyguards basically saying they were the only ones there's for him Michael and that baisaclly they blamed themselves for his passing because he needed a friend but at the end of the day he was gonna die because he was still unhappy there was not a lot they could be done at the end of the day
mz.niki99 It was one of the best mini-series ever. Lifetime is not right for this type of stuff. Their budgets are too low and the actors they use are mediocre.
I agree. They are. The Full House movie was bad, the Marilyn Monroe one was all right but felt rushed in part 2. BET should do a 3 part Michael Jackson miniseries. Part 1 should be three hours, parts 2 and 3 should be 2 hours.
lol, OMG, yassss, back in the day (80's kid) we used to go to Woolworth or Newberry get cheese popcorn, Whoppers, Raisinets, Gobbers and Shasta sodas. Sneak it in the movies...damn those was the good ole days.....😆
Qu Re ......😂😂😂😂 Hell yeah, Woolworth was the shit...After we shopped we went to the diner and got a cheeseburger and vanilla shake.....aye, remember Zody's???
BixbyLBC Awww Snap we had Zodys Wiolworth n Newberrys out hete in Los Angeles..talk about a Kids Struggle Disneyland😂😂😂I usta live for Sat. with my parents!
For a lifetime movie .. it was okay . I do feel as though a lot of the movie was very factual . I just felt bad for my the whole time . He's still my Idol . He lived a hell of a life . All he wanted was to be normal .
I knew from when you posted that picture saying "why they had M.J. lips looking dry like Dutchess lips" 😂😂 I knew right then and there it was some PURE FUCKERY I'm glad I didn't watch.
dillion davis I will eventually see this movie but not yet. I will just wait until I'm ready. That sounds stupid but if I'm going to waste time on a shit movie, I'll do it on my own terms.
there was a video of one of the brothers in a car at the gate. he didn't drive through the gate idk which brother might have been Randy. i heard about the appointment thing also. i remember hearing his brother do ask for money idk if it was true but yup
I said Tinaaaaa !!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Niggah Just Niggahsss 😂😂😂😂 I give you authorization to use that CARD SWIPE IT AGAIN !!! I actually like the movie for the most part being that no one can truly play Michael it's just not possible Just the fact it showed Michael in a positive light instead of focusing only on the many hardships he had later in life 🕺🏼🕴🏼
And that suitcase with $200,000 I was like damn Mike can you break Bill & Kevion off some of that emergency money because they were Nevvvaaa getting paid! It's A No For Me Dog 😩
I haven't watched it yet, I'm here for the commentary because you gives me life every week lol .. Lifetime going to learn to take notes lol.. They should had taken notes from the New Edition Story
Ashley.... I have watched several of your videos.... you do an excellent job reviewing movies and television shows.... Oh and by the way.... you are funny in your commentary!!!!!!
I liked the movie. A close friend of Michael said he wanted to preform again because his children never saw him on stage before. I just don't think he agreed to fifty shows. And that's why Michael was stressed out until end of his life.
Girl, the timeline is on 2006-2008 . Thats y its not the ignition songs coz that was in the 2001-ish maybe . Havent watch it yet but from the trailer i can say its kinda follow accurately the book by MJ former bodyguard. That book tho , was really entertaining. Emotional roller coasters. Thank for the review. Cant wait to watch it. Hopefully someone will upload it here in youtube
Lol my grandma was the same . & she used to make the popcorn with food coloring to sneak in so we thought ours was special and obviously better than the movie theater popcorn.
Girl I live for your reviews! You one of the few people who break it down and let me know if it's even worth my time. I ain't even seen the movie and probably won't.
Yea Navi is from Barbados and was raised in London so I guess it was hard. I really think they should've gone with Either ECasanova or Earnest Valentino who we can see are undoubtedly Black. Navi can be up for debate on his ethnicity
People have been waiting for a Movie that doesn't go into his allegations, then when people get it, the best parts of Michael's life people are still unhappy. I don't get what's so hard about making people happy, there is always going to be someone no matter, who you got to play Michael within the Film, or whether they got the most looking guy who looks like MJ the most. People would still find faults. Can't please some people!
I was just scrolling through the channels. and this movie caught my eye. but clearly Micheal just wanted be normal but it couldn't been me, him not paying and I'm making sure you're safe it would have been a wrap the first month, let alone five months oh hell no
Romain Bain was responsible for paying the bodyguards, which she didn't b/c she was trying to drive them away.Know this same woman is now suing Michael's estate for money.
Did you see Richard Lawson on Grey's Anatomy this season?? He played Meredith's sister's real dad on the episode when her mom died. I can;t think of her name. Wait! Maybe it's Maggie I just know she has a serious lisp. Tina got her man a-werkin'. Oh yeah.. We used to sneak hotdogs and sodas into the baseball games, we brought popcorn into the movies and candy and I recall bringing a couple of wine coolers into the theater to watch The Color Purple. Good Times!
I think Navi did exceptionally well in his portrayal of Michael. Sure the accent wasn't perfect but remember only Michael can do Michael's accent perfectly.
I read and recommend their book. It explains a lot,and goes into more details about things like the money, managment, and the family. The movie is lis pretty accurate to what's in their book. A lot of it aligns with the picture painted by other sources in his life at the time.
Honestly, I enjoyed "Searching for Neverland" I thought that it was one of the best biopics I've seen in a while. Of course it like you stated it was nothing new that we didn't know about. But what I really liked is that we got to see what the last few years of Michael's life was like (in a sense).
now that's one movie I didn't like was the Whitney Houston boring..but I'ma look at this one.. Ashly Miller girl u so funny.u my girl tho I be looking forward to ur reviews, keep doing what u do...God bless u
He ran out the house like he was about to throw hands with Randy, then he realized like oh i do owe him money, call Joseph lol When My Prerogative came on I fell out. He was jammin eating that chicken... He said come on Bill sing! lol It was ok it wasnt as horrible as I thought it was gonna be. Compared to New Edition and other biographys it was trash but compared to the MJ movie with Flex this was better.
patrizia brichese Doesn't show it at all. They ended up showing that his death was announced on the news and that is how the security guards found out in the movie.
MJ's greatest strength was also his biggest weakness and that was being too kindhearted and trusting of any and everyone.
"michaels weave should not be better than yours" im really weak
Why is our black sisters are so ghettttttttttooooooooo Her vocabulary is messed up
Michael had a sista hair stylist that kept that hair on point!
sure did
ishaboo87 Hell yeah.
You're right. The movie wasn't terrible.
What I got from this movie was that Michael was so lonely. He enjoyed his kids but adults still need adult friends.
"Michael had some good hair pieces."
...I instantly thought about the "Remember the Time" video 😂😂😂
His hair was FYE in that movie LOL
I feel like based on the Michael urban legends told by Chris Tucker, Steve Harvey, Eddie Murphy and more, the Michael story sounds kinda accurate. I enjoyed the Michael and his kids storyline. The rest seems a little one sided or a possible stretch. But I do believe the public allegations destroyed Michael Jackson so bad it lead to his demise.
PlusSizeIcon ikr
Better than that flex movie back in the 2000s!!!!!!!!!!!!
bluefal lol i remember that 😂😂 they were wrong for that movie
bluefal man lol that movie was ignorant. My cousin use to be obsessed with mj and had that movie on repeat just dancing.
bluefal hell yeah a lot better
bluefal Truly
bluefal Exactly. I could watch this over. But not the Flex movie.
I told people to turn it into a drinking game. Take a shot every time his accent changed. It was southern, British, Australian, and some Asian/Jamaican fusion. That was all in the first hour lol
Lady Lex okay so it wasn't just me lol
Londie James No sis, I think we all heard that lol
Lady Lex Sounds like Madonna and her ever-changing accent. "Bitch, you from NY!!"
Numba1 Heathen LMAO true
Lady Lex I thought I was the only one who caught the Asian accent several times! He sound like my nail tech😂😂😂
LisaMarie told us that Michael was a tiger in the bedroom...I don't know if we believed her at the time, but she did tell us they did the do, and he got it in. 😂😅
When she said that
Grandma was on point y'all not about to waste my money
the actor who played Michel Jackson he worked with him before he passed away
the part that really got to me was at the end of the movie where the two bodyguards said yeah Michael had a lot of friends but where were they when he needed them and the bodyguards basically saying they were the only ones there's for him Michael and that baisaclly they blamed themselves for his passing because he needed a friend but at the end of the day he was gonna die because he was still unhappy there was not a lot they could be done at the end of the day
I thought they was gonna play ignition too!! I was hype as hell!! 😂😂😂
Young kidd 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Young kidd I knoooow. They shoulda showed that.
Lifetime should give up doing biopics. They are horrible at it. Never thought I tell them to take notes from BET. That New Edition Biopic was fire.
mz.niki99 It was one of the best mini-series ever.
I almost died when she said Randy had Mike running like it was a drive by shooting lmfao
the guy who played Michael said he use to be a body double for Michael back when he was alive...
as I said in the video
Dionne Washington he's her worked for mj :)
Ashley Miller dunno why I put *her🤣 should of said . Yes he worked for mj
Didn't watch just here to watch your review
Rayshaun Praylow Me too!
Rayshaun Praylow same here
why is it our black sisters are so ghetooooooo not all but to many listen her vocab
I believe every bit of it! Every ounce
The movie was better than expected and very enlightening and revealing. They told this story
Ashley you be watching them vids of Mike picking up women too!! He's cute with that lmao!!
lol, OMG, yassss, back in the day (80's kid) we used to go to Woolworth or Newberry get cheese popcorn, Whoppers, Raisinets, Gobbers and Shasta sodas. Sneak it in the movies...damn those was the good ole days.....😆
Qu Re ......😂😂😂😂 Hell yeah, Woolworth was the shit...After we shopped we went to the diner and got a cheeseburger and vanilla shake.....aye, remember Zody's???
BixbyLBC did y'all have a Zoey's?...
BixbyLBC Awww Snap we had Zodys Wiolworth n Newberrys out hete in Los Angeles..talk about a Kids Struggle Disneyland😂😂😂I usta live for Sat. with my parents!
I tried to watch it, but I felt myself getting ready to cry again because I don't wanna relive those last moments of MJ's life.
For a lifetime movie .. it was okay . I do feel as though a lot of the movie was very factual . I just felt bad for my the whole time . He's still my Idol . He lived a hell of a life . All he wanted was to be normal .
"Bitch how you gone raise 0%?" 😫😫
I knew from when you posted that picture saying "why they had M.J. lips looking dry like Dutchess lips" 😂😂 I knew right then and there it was some PURE FUCKERY I'm glad I didn't watch.
dillion davis 😂😂
dillion davis that was a fail there, 😂😂😂, smh
dillion davis I will eventually see this movie but not yet. I will just wait until I'm ready. That sounds stupid but if I'm going to waste time on a shit movie, I'll do it on my own terms.
I was like is MJ Asian with a British accent?!
The story was great it's just the acting by Navi was kinda cringe worthy
iMike 825 should've got E'casanova
me being a fan of mjj i didnt like it....all i can say at least lifetime didnt give flex the role.
monique miller lol
Holly R Pete also played Diana Ross in American Dream
"Well I give you authorization" lmbo "bitch it don't work like that"
Shay Songstress lmaoooo thoae was my thoughts exactly 😂😂 when he said that I was like wait.... what🤔🤔

we know
Jordan Masten Amen, Too That! Jordan
Ashley Miller lol damn.
Jordan Masten By charlie Chaplin
lol no disrespect. MJ fans know that that was one of his favorite songs and it Jermaine sang it at his funeral
I was waiting for this lol, but the movie wasn't all the bad like I thought it was
Why I thought Michael's mother was Maxine Waters...
Ashley B. 😂😂😂😂😂Too funny
Ashley B. 😂😂😂😂😂
Ashley B. lmfao
Ashley B. Lol
Ashley B. 😂😂😂😂
That movie brought me to tears.
The Jacksons hail from 2300 Jackson St, Gary, Indiana. I know he was eating corn bread and greens.
I thought the same thing about the end being so speed up but then i realized well they weren't there as much so there wasnt nomore stories to tell

From one MJ fan to another, I'm so happy I found this video! Thank you Ashley!!!
I was pleasantly surprised. The movie was cool.
there was a video of one of the brothers in a car at the gate. he didn't drive through the gate idk which brother might have been Randy. i heard about the appointment thing also. i remember hearing his brother do ask for money idk if it was true but yup
Deja Sibby Yes, Michael owed Randy for a loan he helped him with during his trail.
Yes this movie was just okay. Wasn't that bad. Definitely not Aaliyah biopic 😂

Damn Ashley you fast lol. I haven't even watched it yet to to my review lol. I need to take notes 😊😊😊
*do
I thought the same thing with the accent. It threw me off. I looked Navi up and he's from Trinidad. Overall though, I think the acting wasn't too bad.
Yea Navi is from Barbados and was raised in London so I guess it was hard.
I really think they should've gone with Either ECasanova or Earnest Valentino who we can see are undoubtedly Black.
Navi can be up for debate on his ethnicity
"Bitch, how you gone give me a raise, bitch how bout you just give me my motherfkn money." Girl, LMAO.
It’s 2023 & i thought this would give me a good laugh!!! 😂😂😂😂

I was just scrolling through the channels. and this movie caught my eye. but clearly Micheal just wanted be normal but it couldn't been me, him not paying and I'm making sure you're safe it would have been a wrap the first month, let alone five months oh hell no
It wouldn't been me neither. Loyalty don't pay the bills
Yes, Randy really did ram into the fence :)
had to come back to this 6 years later for a good laugh
The movie was okay! It wasn't nearly as bad the Whitney, Aaliyah and Britney film.
The movie was funny, trying to impersonate MJ is too hard. Michael was many things
Romain Bain was responsible for paying the bodyguards, which she didn't b/c she was trying to drive them away.Know this same woman is now suing Michael's estate for money.
Excellent review. I felt the same way you did about everything.
Off topic, but are you going to review the Bachelorette? I'd love to hear your take on who she will end up picking. Bet it's a White guy.
Did you see Richard Lawson on Grey's Anatomy this season?? He played Meredith's sister's real dad on the episode when her mom died. I can;t think of her name. Wait! Maybe it's Maggie I just know she has a serious lisp.
Tina got her man a-werkin'.

You're Michael Jackson shopping voice have me rolling.
I felt the same way as you 50/50 on the movie... Great breakdown
I think Navi did exceptionally well in his portrayal of Michael. Sure the accent wasn't perfect but remember only Michael can do Michael's accent perfectly.
i'm about to try that concoction you mixed up lol
to lit with the drink
where can i watch the movie?,
I read and recommend their book. It explains a lot,and goes into more details about things like the money, managment, and the family.
The movie is lis pretty accurate to what's in their book. A lot of it aligns with the picture painted by other sources in his life at the time.
Thanks for the review Ashley! I think there's way too many biopics of Whitney and Michael.
Honestly, I enjoyed "Searching for Neverland" I thought that it was one of the best biopics I've seen in a while. Of course it like you stated it was nothing new that we didn't know about. But what I really liked is that we got to see what the last few years of Michael's life was like (in a sense).
MarcZman 2.0 I really liked it

Jackson 5...forever GOAT
E'casanova would have been a great Michael Jackson.
now that's one movie I didn't like was the Whitney Houston boring..but I'ma look at this one.. Ashly Miller girl u so funny.u my girl tho I be looking forward to ur reviews, keep doing what u do...God bless u

I'm out of America so in this moment I can't see it, but I have a question: does it show clearly his death? And how does it do it?
patrizia brichese Doesn't show it at all. They ended up showing that his death was announced on the news and that is how the security guards found out in the movie.
Melissa Williams Thank you so much, what's important to me is that the bedroom and the real scene is not showed. Thank you :)
The Aaliyah parody biopic is the worst lifetime movie. I didn't watch the Michael Jackson movie. Is this movie worth my time.
I LOVED IT!!!!!!
she said it was "trash but not trash trash" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I enjoyed the movie! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Liked the different perspective.
I didn't watch it just like alot of the shows/movies out now. Just came for ur review.
