thats because mm2 hitboxes are calculated on client, not server, so if you have 300 ping you can still hit anybody normally but your attack will appear to others as impossible or far range melee attack
That's caused by latency and the use of BodyMovers on the server. Basically, there are 2 main types of scripts that developers can use, Client scripts and Server scripts. Server scripts run on the game's server, and their actions replicate to everyone, however, they are delayed, with the delay intensity depending on your ping. Client scripts run on your device, they're stupidly responsive and can even act when there is no internet, but their actions will NOT replicate. On those games, whenever you take knockback, it gets applied on the server, and it can be applied for longer than they're meant to due to latency. In the end, the optimal choice is to ALWAYS handle player knockback on the client, since it won't suffer from that issue.

To fix this someone needs to make a mechanic where when some one is moving in a direction instead of showing where they are on the server use pre location to reveal where their ghost is depending on what ping they have if they have 100ms delay then they are placed 100 ms ahead of where their moving like predicting where they will be for a more accurate location

@@soolfur there's a counter for this a detection system to register the hitbox is bigger than it's actually suppose to be I've tested it before on a few games and I was banned for exploiting in such a way I'm unsure what it's called the anti exploit but it's there

its actually not the hitbox. the enemy does actually hit you but its in their screen. you know ping? the higher your ping, the further they can hit you on YOUR screen. so if you have like 100ms ping the distance will be noticable. but if you have like 10ms then you would barely even tell a difference.
Even this is not always true, I realised A LOT of roblox games with guns do checks client side, I was amazed to say the least, you can just disconnect yourself for like a second and easily spray bullets

in item asylum, the hitboxes are actually based on the server ghost, which is slightly behind you (because you render before the server renders you), and your opponents server ghost is slightly in front of them (because the server renders them before sending it to you), this paired with IA's VERY weird hitboxes makes hitting weird, and it also explains why when you get hit on your screen, you dont even get hit. idk what it is in other games like TSB though

The client (your perspective) takes a while to send inputs to the server. The server (and other players) see you farther behind than you actually are. I've been using studio for a while...
This is why I don't play meeles with ping. Guns can be delayed but not that hard. But lagging while punching someone can be useful to get harder to hit.
its because client send images of actually event to server and the server get client images and replicates in playergui , if you asking why the server dont generate manual image its because player position + player lag + player replication - server stats + fps - player torso cframe + head cframe + camera position - humanoidrootpart cframe
