When I first saw Vergil's reveal trailer, I thought that Vergil wasn't going to have much combo possibility with his move set. You sure proved me wrong.
How the hell do you do that loop starting at 0:45, I noticed isedelica starts up a record of her doing it before... is it that difficult? I know it's like high time + trick then jump and helmet breaker. But I can't seem to get it... any suggestions?
You can't pull off that hulk combo now...tried it...there's a lag after using cH and when you High Time the delay to trick back down is increased...sad day...I wanted to abuse a Hulk with that combo
@dorik0 The character is about to fall to the ground, but all of a sudden starts spinning upward allowing you to further extend your combo. It's a glitch with or without the extras.
@alecktrang DHC Glitch is still viable. It's just a lot less effective since it doesn't reset hit-stun or damage anymore, and meter isn't as easily attained as it was in vanilla.
@Dncemnky I had the same problem. I play with default controls so when you OTG with Vergil try inputting your super as you usually would but instead of hitting the two buttons to activate the super, hit the RT (which is L+M+H Attack on default controls) button or the R2 button. If you play configured just change the settings to your likings but make sure you have a button for L+M+H Attack. So far that's the only way I get the super to come out.
good video but not worth my time playing unless they update it and put mega crush from Tatsunoko VS Capcom to break out of a combo cause anyone can do that and it makes it not fun to play just getting your ass beat like that
@KH9506 and also look at the damage at a lot of their "Flashy combos" most of it is done over time. sombody gets out of it o look low damage. people need to stop focusing on flashy and more on damaging.
@MAZINkaiser20 pressing H a second time during the high time cancels it into a teleport, and if you cancel the teleport into the air hyper quicky enough it connects. thats how i do it anyway
@MrArchibaldwitwiki you can set your L button to the left trigger while still being on X (if your on xbox) and hold left trigger during the combo. Thats how I did my zero combos and it worked fine
This game is so complicated...once im in a combo the oppenent wont let me free...lol I dont understand how they beat the shit of out me without me once hitting them
@MrArchibaldwitwiki You can set a trigger to L, M, or H, whatever you prefer and get into the rhythm of holding down that trigger after comboing as well.

This is the reason I both hate and absolutely love MvC3. I realize pretty quickly that I was far below average of a player. This is one of those games where all it takes is for one hit to get through and you have to sit and watch as any player who has even the slightest clue as to what they're doing systematically destroys you. You can do sheeit until they mess up or decide to stop, IF that moment ever comes. The game is super fun to watch though.
I didn't say he was hard to use. I said online its hard to pull off most of the flawless combos in his repertoire. Button lag, if you've ever experienced it, is random and virtually shatters combos like Vergil's which require precise timing. A lagless match would be easy to have combos like this done. However, almost 45% of all online gaming experiences lag. Hence why most professional gamers play dedicated servers or live when training. They get so used to lag online their timing shifts in rl.
I've been working on this combo and the parts where you cancel into the spinning swords hyper then use his OTG, then IMMEDIATELY use trick to teleport back to the ground seems to require unrealistically perfect timing. I've probably tried about 500 times and succeeded about 20, only once did I manage to do it twice in a row. Anyone have any tips for nailing this part? I just can't seem to figure it out.

There are actually critical reviews if you would bother to look and not search for only validating opinions.

I mean, you could kill in one combo back in SF2 revisions from a good hit confirms, without even using Super in ST. Any issues this game has, they have nothing to do with what you said.

The only thing that should be infuriating about that 168 hit combo is how much of a waste of meter it ends up being. The game is actually not that imbalanced for the type of game it is, and honestly balance isn't much of an issue until high level play and at that point it's all about playing to win anyway.

They practice and practice till they get it right, to just show off a character's potential. Not like a day one scrub can pick up these combos and make you rage. He's on par with every other character. 650-750k with one bar is the average. And most of his combos require you to be in swords or devil trigger, so no meter is gained. If you said he's a cheap mother fucker with too much range and retarded teleports that can easily be made safe, then yes, I agree with you. I've been using him and those tools are ridiculous.

They are trying to make money so they release their fighting games with minor updates to fix problems in the first one and make you think your geting something new. You should go read some player reviews on gamefaqs or something to understand a bit more.
I love my team of Zero, Vergil, and Dante... and thanks to this... I shall practice and practice and practice until I can actually pull one of these off.. But the first one is just brutal do to. Are you using a fighter stick? Because just trying to keep hold of a button to throw Force Edge is pretty difficult with a controller.
@infernoXdragon1 it was really weird for me too but just practice the super jump after the teleport before trying to hit them with M. If he doesn't jump then he you're doing it to early and if he is too late then speed it up till you get the timing just right. Once u get the super jump then timing M just takes a little practice

I want to see if the person disconnects, sits there watching the beauty or just see no movement in their character knowing they dropped the remote. Not that they would be able to move anyway...
At 00:48 you throw at the sword with that charged move of Vergil, how do charge it doing your combo? With the xbox controller I'm almost positive you can't do it while in combo. You must play on stick, is there something special with stick so you press and it charges? ANYONE CAN ANSWER. Thanks for your time if you respond.

@KH9506 I guess you're pretty wrong about that. I was playing a couple of days ago and a dude pulled one fo those combos at me and killed me almost instantly. No escape. I didn't rage though, just found it very interesting and even compelling, mind you. Amazing skills.
@TheSweetestViolence He only ever has on ground bounce. Moves that usually ground bounce (srk medium, SH, ect.) are stopped with the swords before they actually hit the ground so yea, you got the right idea. If you look at the combos, the single ground bounce can be pinpointed.
Just when the second hit of Nichirinkyaku (Rising Sun) hits press circle (default) to teleport to the ground. After that perform a super jump and keep presing UP until you get near the oponent, then press Triangle to follow the combo.
Online combos like this are beyond hard to do. Especially with characters like Vergil who need near flawless timing. So even if you fight someone like him, you got a chance. Just need to be smart.... If its one on one in person then you're fucked.
the thing the messes with my head in this vid is the crazy level of coordenation of buttons in 3:15. Slash/spiral sword/slash/spiral sword...stinger after leaving two spiral swords left to continue comboing. I tried that and the only thing i get was.... u.u
At 1:09 I was standing. Four seconds later I needed to sit. That was HILARIOUS. I'm also LUVIN Team Devil Trigger, from the "Soul Swords vs Million Dollars" to what I call the "Split the Bounty" combo at the end. Awesome freakin vid. ^_^
Yup, However much it looks cheap and lame and people think its op. I clocked 1,469,000 with nemesis in a 23 hit combo with NEMESIS using only 2 Levels of hyper, and the combo works fairly easy online. As soon as the first hit lands, your set.
@Wesker700 I'm not sure if you know what resets are..but there are none in this video. Also, the 100%s in here are not combos that can be pulled off online with consistency. They are meant for style. Just be glad the DHC glitch is gone.
@DevilMalice it won't be a DLC... if you take your time and do some research you'll see that Zero will have a Megaman X skin (it will be included with the skin packs they'll start selling online). This is such a letdown for Megaman fans
@Marceles45 Right but they don't do a whole ton of damage and you notice he also doesn't build meter when they're active. Also if you hit Vergil while spiral swords are active they ALL automatically disappear. That was never the case for Ouro.

After the rising sun how do you do the teleport back to them to follow up attack. I know when doing the rising sun you press fierce button to teleport down, but I don't know what to do after that. Please help.
I'm not to familiar with the terms either but I assume TOD combo is one that basically can kill you entirely by itself. Good to know not many could do that to me but its not making me wanna buy UMvC3 any faster :P

a lot of people have being asking this question and yet no one seems to know the answer ... can anywone please explain how to cancel the high time otg move into the teleport fast enough to keep the oponent on ht blades ??

@MrArchibaldwitwiki no I'm sure there is; you might just have to find another way to hold the controller or be creative and reconfigure your button layout (maybe map one of the buttons to a trigger, as suggested earlier)
Anyone know how to land the spiral swords -> 3H OTG -> H teleport -> j2H relaunch? I was trying it earlier and got it maybe twice, but the opponent just falls out of it before I can teleport back down most of the time.
If any one of those combos were ever done to me i would immediatly add the guy to my friend list, play him till he wants to delete me just to see that sick shit over and over and over again
no nerf required here, these combos take a lot of good exucution to do. only a small percentage of players would be able to pull these off. and they take a lot of meter to do so it all works out

I just got this game and I can barely do the most simple combo strings. But this video motivates me to keep practicing. (even tho online is dead lol)

@romann921 Because Hulk's hitbox is big, that one can only use for characters with big hitbox.

its official, Vergil is a KEEPER! Probably easier to do combos with him than with dante
nobody ever really does these combos in serious situations like ranked or tournaments. its for style and it uses all of your meter.
These are impractical. His practical combos do butt tons of damage. His level 3 is among the highest damaging in the game.

@KH9506 I guess you're pretty wrong about that. I was playing a couple of days ago and a dude pulled one fo those combos at me and killed me almost instantly. No escape. I didn't rage though, just found it very interesting and even compelling, mind you. Amazing skills.
@TheSweetestViolence He only ever has on ground bounce. Moves that usually ground bounce (srk medium, SH, ect.) are stopped with the swords before they actually hit the ground so yea, you got the right idea. If you look at the combos, the single ground bounce can be pinpointed.
If that was me I would find that cheating but awesome moves!
Just when the second hit of Nichirinkyaku (Rising Sun) hits press circle (default) to teleport to the ground. After that perform a super jump and keep presing UP until you get near the oponent, then press Triangle to follow the combo.
Online combos like this are beyond hard to do. Especially with characters like Vergil who need near flawless timing. So even if you fight someone like him, you got a chance. Just need to be smart.... If its one on one in person then you're fucked.
the thing the messes with my head in this vid is the crazy level of coordenation of buttons in 3:15. Slash/spiral sword/slash/spiral sword...stinger after leaving two spiral swords left to continue comboing. I tried that and the only thing i get was.... u.u

I'm also LUVIN Team Devil Trigger, from the "Soul Swords vs Million Dollars" to what I call the "Split the Bounty" combo at the end.

Yup, However much it looks cheap and lame and people think its op. I clocked 1,469,000 with nemesis in a 23 hit combo with NEMESIS using only 2 Levels of hyper, and the combo works fairly easy online. As soon as the first hit lands, your set.

I'm not sure if you know what resets are..but there are none in this video. Also, the 100%s in here are not combos that can be pulled off online with consistency. They are meant for style. Just be glad the DHC glitch is gone.
@DevilMalice it won't be a DLC... if you take your time and do some research you'll see that Zero will have a Megaman X skin (it will be included with the skin packs they'll start selling online). This is such a letdown for Megaman fans
@Marceles45 Right but they don't do a whole ton of damage and you notice he also doesn't build meter when they're active. Also if you hit Vergil while spiral swords are active they ALL automatically disappear. That was never the case for Ouro.

After the rising sun how do you do the teleport back to them to follow up attack. I know when doing the rising sun you press fierce button to teleport down, but I don't know what to do after that. Please help.
I'm not to familiar with the terms either but I assume TOD combo is one that basically can kill you entirely by itself. Good to know not many could do that to me but its not making me wanna buy UMvC3 any faster :P

a lot of people have being asking this question and yet no one seems to know the answer ... can anywone please explain how to cancel the high time otg move into the teleport fast enough to keep the oponent on ht blades ??
why does everybody say they need to patch these?... thats stupid..... the amount of skill it takes to do these combos is crazy... trust me not everybody does them and those who try online will drop them 85% of the time
@MrArchibaldwitwiki no I'm sure there is; you might just have to find another way to hold the controller or be creative and reconfigure your button layout (maybe map one of the buttons to a trigger, as suggested earlier)
Anyone know how to land the spiral swords -> 3H OTG -> H teleport -> j2H relaunch? I was trying it earlier and got it maybe twice, but the opponent just falls out of it before I can teleport back down most of the time.
If any one of those combos were ever done to me i would immediatly add the guy to my friend list, play him till he wants to delete me just to see that sick shit over and over and over again
no nerf required here, these combos take a lot of good exucution to do. only a small percentage of players would be able to pull these off. and they take a lot of meter to do so it all works out

Oh...my.......GOD. The funny thing is Vergil is how I thought Strider was going to be with Ouroboros, but Capcom thought making it a level 3 would unbreak him...but now we have Vergil lol.
im not that good but i finished mission 10 of vergil and its the same as the one you are asking.. theres slightly strict timing and i use super jump to follow up an attack..

@4ourClubs so true plus no one is going to attempt anything like this online because of lag nor at tournament for fear of dropping the combo and getting vergil killed off because of it.

Yea how does he have the time to charge in the middle of a combo. Most likely its a arcade joystick or adjusted controller buttons. Omg Verily 150 combo. That just raped my eyes.

vergil is a straight beast in this game they should make a devil may cry with only vergil it should say devil may cry vergil's ascension or something like the rise of vergil

@2hAfk The floating part of the glitch still works, it's the hitstun resetting that they fixed.
Looks like Vergil has a lot of ways to keep them locked down regardless D:

You know, I go in training and think I have really great and advanced combos. Then I come on RUclips and see this, and I realize my combos are suckish at best.
